A CHEERY PRINT TO BRIGHTEN YOUR DAY
Have all of you heard about the Quarantine 15? If not, that is referring to the 15 pounds of weight that we are all gaining. I am so serious, I am non-stop eating, and there doesn’t seem to be an end in sight. Joe, on the other hand, is eating everything in sight and not gaining any weight. How is that possible??? He loves all of the desserts and home-cooked meals, and he thinks that I am going to keep this up forever. Ha! I hate to burst his bubble, but that isn’t going to happen. Lol!
I had been doing so good with my Delay, Don’t Deny intermittent fasting by Gin Stephens. There are a lot of great insights in the book about how our bodies process food, but the thing that I took away from the book is that I needed an eating “window.” I picked my window from 2:00 pm until 7:00 pm. I couldn’t have anything to eat or drink before 2:00 pm except for water and black coffee. That meant me giving up my coffee creamer and all sweeteners, even zero-calorie ones. But, once 2:00 rolled around, then I could eat anything that I wanted, but I had to stop eating by 7:00 pm.
I did great…at first. Then, the stress of the virus started to take its toll. I wanted comfort food, and it seems like all of the comfort food is fattening. We have had cakes, cookies, cobblers, banana pudding, banana nut bread, candy, and even a splurge of ice cream one afternoon. And, my 7:00 pm window has become an 8:00 pm window. Then, my 8:00 pm window became my 9:00 pm window. I think you can see where this is going. UGH! So, once again, I am crawling my heavier than before rear back up on the horse to try to get back in the IF swing of things. If you see me eating a cookie, take it away from me. Unless it is an Oreo, and those don’t count. Lol!
I mentioned yesterday that I had ordered a few things in from Talbots, and this is one of the shirts that I just got in. The cheery print is what drew my attention. I love the bright red flowers (look like tulips to me) and the contrasting black leaves. This sleeveless shirt looks crisp and clean, and I love how classic this looks on. I can see this looking great with shorts and jeans, and a cardigan or a blazer would make the shirt dressy.
When you look at an item, start thinking about what you can wear it with to see if it is versatile. You want to be able to wear it in three different ways to extend your wardrobe. So, think about wearing this with a pair of white crops, a pair of jeans, and a black pair of pants like I have here. That is just a few ways that you could wear this button-up shirt. I am wearing a size 10 in this shirt, and I think it fits me great. It is machine washable, and it is 97% Cotton; 3% Spandex. Here is the link to the top.
I thought that you might like to see how long the shirt is in the rear. It does dip down, but it is not long like a tunic.
I thought this was a really cool picture. Lol! It might not show the pants off as well as it could, but I thought you gurls would appreciate the rearview as well as the front view. Yesterday (here), I wore a pair of blue pants with the back slit. Well, today, I have on a black pair of the same pants. I love these pants because they are almost like yoga pants, but a dressier material. They are very comfortable, and they don’t cut into your waist. They are a pull-on style, but they look like dress pants. Maybe we should rename them as yodress or dressyo pants. What do you think???
I am wearing a .5 in these, which is the same as a 6. However, I think that they run big since I usually wear a size 1 in Chico’s jeans. These pants come in several colors, and they are on sale, so grab several pairs. They look cute coming and going since they have the back slit. Here is the link.
Since I wasn’t going to the chicken coop, I thought that I would wear my Tory Burch flip flops. LOL! I bought a leather version of this same sandal, but I honestly prefer the rubber ones. This is one time that I went with comfort over style! Lol! Did I just say that!?! Here is the link to these remarkably comfortable flip flops. And, because I found a huge sale of Tory Burch shoes, I’ll share my favorite picks from the sale with you. I love nice things; I just don’t like paying full price for them.
But, then, you gurls started messaging me and wanting to know what I was doing, and once I realized that I had been selfish in keeping my “find” to myself, I shared what I was using. 1 John 4:7
7 Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.
I think you look great but I want to comment about IF. I love it! I find the podcast IF stories very inspiring.
Hi Tania. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and words of encouragement. I have been thinking a lot about my eating, over eating and emotional eating. I appreciate your wisdom, especially your devotion to God’s word and His thoughts. So maybe you could share what you think about my following questions.
Here are my thoughts. If greed is defined as taking over and above what we need for sustenance, and as a woman who needs around 1600 calories to maintain my current healthy weight, would it not then be a sin of greed to eat more daily calories consistently so that I reap the consequence of gaining weight? Would that not be the sin of greed that could lead to gluttony, and also be a lack of self control, and self indulgence? And when does just a little over eating become greed–200 over the 1600 calories, 400, 800, 1000? I seriously do not know the answers to these questions. Would you have any thoughts and wisdom about this?
I believe that if overeating is a sin, I may find it more easy to not do it, because as a disciple of Jesus, I do not want to consciously sin. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
