Hi, I’m Tania Stephens. I launched 50 Is Not Old at age 55 to show that midlife is the perfect time to look modern, feel great, and reinvent your style, no matter your budget or body type. As a mother, grandmother, and lifelong fashion enthusiast, my goal is to inspire joy, confidence, and community among women over 50.

About Tania

I grew up in a big, lively family in Middle Tennessee, and it was there that I met Joe, he had moved into the apartment right above mine while attending college. That upstairs neighbor eventually became my husband, and we’ve been writing our story together ever since.

After getting married, Joe and I moved to Southwest Virginia in 1992. I’m a mom three wonderful children. These days, and a proud grandmother to five incredible grandkids. I can’t forget our much-loved dog, Lucy Lu, who rules our home.

I launched 50 Is Not Old at age 55, never imagining it would grow into such a meaningful part of my life. I started it because I wanted to encourage other women who might be feeling overlooked or unsure of how to dress for this season of life. What I found was a welcoming, supportive community of women who wanted the same thing I did: to feel stylish, confident, and comfortable in their own skin.

What to Expect on 50 Is Not Old

This blog is for everyday women who want to look pulled together without overthinking it. Whether you’re headed to church, lunch with friends, a casual vacation, or just tackling errands, I’ll show you how to dress in a way that feels current but never fussy.
