ARE YOU BRAVE ENOUGH TO LET YOUR HUSBAND PICK OUT YOUR OUTFIT
Today, we are going to play a game on the blog. If you like the game, we might make it a weekly or bi-weekly feature, so we will wait and see what you think. My blogger buddy, Jennifer from A Well Styled Life, has a weekly feature called, Would You Wear It. She goes to her local mall, takes a photo of a mannequin, and then asks her readers if they would wear the clothing. It is usually a lot of fun, so I decided to do something similar, but with a twist.
Today’s version is, Are You Brave Enough To Let Your Husband Pick Out Your Outfit??? I don’t have a local mall, and the nearest one is about 2 hours away. So, I can’t take a photo of a mannequin to show all of you. But, I just received a catalog in the mail, so I handed it to Joe and told him to pick me out some clothing that he would like to see me wear.
I gave him a big black sharpie, and he went through and found TWO outfits that he wanted me to order. Today, you will see the first outfit, and I will upload the second outfit at a later date.
Are You Brave Enough to Let Your Husband Pick Out Your Outfit
- Comment if you would wear the entire outfit or only parts of the outfit.
- Try to keep the comments specific, such as: “I couldn’t wear those pants because I am short/tall,” instead of, “those pants are hideous.” Remember, what you might hate, someone else might love.
- Comment if you are brave enough to let your husband/friend/son/daughter/neighbor pick out an outfit for you.
- Finally, comment if you liked this idea and would like to see it as a regular feature on the blog.
Joe has always LOVED Talbots. When we first started dating in 1986, he tried to get me to wear their clothing, but I thought it was too matronly for me. Either their styles have changed, or my tastes have changed because I now love their clothing. When he would travel out of town, he would usually go by one of their stores and bring me back something he picked out.
Now, he got to do the same thing, only using modern technology and ordering everything online. When I gave him the catalog to look through, I was shocked at the two outfits he chose. Honestly, I would have never thought that he would pick out this combination.
This linen v-neck pullover sweater is a beautiful sky blue. The white trim pops off of the blue, and it emphasizes the v-neck even more. The great part about that is that it draws your eye downward and elongates the neck. This helps to take the emphasis off of any multiple chins that you might have. I also love the cable-knit stitching on the trim that gives the sweater a dressier look. My DIL said, “this sweater is perfect for golf or tennis.” I think she meant it looked like a preppy style.
If the v-neck is too low for you, you can add a camisole underneath or a button-up shirt. I decided that there was enough print in the look, so I didn’t add a shirt. I am wearing a size medium in the top, and I think it is a perfect size.
I was surprised that Joe liked the watercolor vases print on these slim ankle jeans. He isn’t usually fond of prints on pants, but I guess a man can change his mind. Evidently, everyone else liked these pants since they are only available in a size 2 and 16. With Talbots clothing, I usually have to size down one size in pants, so I am wearing a size 8, and they fit me fine.
You can still get the same look with this canvas a-line skirt in the same print. I like the length of the skirt since it is longer but not dowdy.
Here are some other printed pants that would also go with the sweater.
Joe didn’t pick out the shoes for either outfit, but I added these Vachetta leather sandals in navy. I have been looking for a pair of casual navy sandals since I don’t have any in my closet. I think that I am missing a tote since I can’t find any of my summer shoes. Oh, shoot! That means that I need to go shopping and buy more shoes. Darn, I sure hate that! Lol!!! I am wearing my usual size 9, and these fit me great. BTW, they have a rubber sole, so that will help to keep them from being slippery.
The last piece of my outfit is this Tory Burch handbag that I bought during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. I love quality handbags, and I try to buy one when I find them on sale. I can carry them for years, and I have never regretted making the purchase. Feeling like I got a “deal” is the key, so when I post about a sale, be sure to grab something that you will love for years to come.
Soooo, what did you think about today’s game? This was a lot of fun for me, and I’ve already handed Joe another catalog to look at. I challenge you gurls now, and I would love to hear what your husbands pick out for you.
If you wonder what I found so funny, I am laughing about the time that my sister’s husband got sent to the dog house. He should have watched the show, “what NOT to say!” Lol!
This week’s winner is…..KIM !!! I’m loving doing these weekly giveaways, so keep commenting, and you might be next week’s winner.

To God Goes The Glory!
Psalms 46:10
10 He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”
Joe can dress me anytime. Okay let me rephrase that. Joe did a great job. I love the beautiful blue on you and the pants are so much fun, I like patterned pants for Summer. Summer is supposed to be about lightning up after a cold hard winter and letting your hair down.
Joe did a great job! My hubby picks out shoes for me online, or a top once in a while. He always chooses something that fits or compliments me – better than my own choices, or so it seems!
Wow! Joe did well! I love the color of both the sweater, pants and shoes! It’s a winner. Unfortunately, I lost my husband in December, and I’d wear anything he chose(😬) if he could come back! (Trust me when I say, he was not a style setter!)😃
My husband always chooses my outfits
How do I get a private message to you? I have a question about sharing pics.
I’ve noticed that the mature women I observe who look chic and put together are usually wearing solid tops and can pull off a pattern on the bottom. Love this look on you, too.
How fun!! I think he did really well choosing this outfit! I personally would totally wear the sweater, but when it comes to pants I always seem to gravitate towards solid colors. However, if this was reversed (top in this print and pants in the color of the sweater I would totally wear this.
I do think it looks really good on you and so perfect for spring and summer!
The outfit is cute, love the sweater. The pants I would have to try on as I am only 5’3 and not sure of them. My husband has tried to put outfit suggestions together for me. It becomes obvious he doesnt have a fashion sense. Think I will stick to choosing my clothes….. Keep the Let your husband select a outfit for you in the mix, maybe I will be brave again and let mine..
I love the outfit! Your husband has great taste. You look awesome.
I would wear the outfit if it was given to me. I don’t spend that much on an outfit. I love the alternate paisley pants. I doubt that I would let my husband choose an outfit for me! I’ve seen the way he dressed our daughters!! I love this idea for your blog though.
Yes ! Your husbandry’s great taste in clothes and Women!
The “hubby choosing oufits” post was amusing and quirky, great to read about. I don’t even ask my husband about what I wear anymore, maybe one of my daughters if they are around. The last thing my husband commented was an animal print ruana that I wore on a chilly weekend in Abingdon, VA. I felt fashionable, and the fact that he noticed made me feel special. I am 70, and fight constantly with myself to not dress like an old lady, but not dress too young and silly. Your blog helps me immensely, and I have ordered (and kept) many items that you have featured; more from you than any other fashion blog that I follow. Please, Please continue with your fun, personable blog.
I love, love, LOVE that outfit! You always look adorable.
Yes I let my honey pick out clothes. He was especially good when I was younger as he would get something a bit sexier. I laughed about Talbots as I would wear that in the eighties and I was too young for that matronly stuff – what was I thinking. I don’t shop there as much these days but sometimes I find some good items.
Well done Joe!
Fun game! I love the sweater-pretty color and nice style for spring. The pants are very preppy, nice colors but the print isn’t for me. I would let my husband pick something out for me, he knows me pretty well after 31 years married. 😀
Joe did a good job on the outfit! I’ve been eyeing both of those pieces and you look great in them! I’m not brave enough to let my husband pick out clothes for me, there’s NO telling what kind of potato sack I’d end up in!!
You look lovely the colours are perfect on you; Joe really knows what suits you. 🙂
Your husband has good taste. Love the colors!
Joe did a fabulous job with this outfit..I’ve been on the fence about this sweater for a while but ordered on line the night before you posted this…now I’m really tempted to get the pants but Talbots pants are typically too large for me in the mid section and I’m pretty small so I think the pattern might overwhelm my frame but they look great on you. Excited to see the next outfit he picks for you and I think this is a fun feature..in the future you might ask your daughter in law to select something I always enjoy my daughters thoughts on clothes..
Great job Joe! The outfit looks fantastic on you! I would not let my husband pick out an outfit for me. I shudder just thinking about it. Maybe Joe could do a “fashion for your wife” blog post.
I would definitely wear this outfit! Joe did a good job. I might let my husband pick an outfit for me out of a Talbot’s catalog, but I wouldn’t turn him loose in a store with a lot of options. God bless his heart, he truly loves me, lumps, bumps, and all and I don’t think he understands camouflage. 😁 I enjoyed this post.
Such a great outfit! Joe has great taste! Can’t wait to see what he picks next!!! Love the colors in this outfit! I would enjoy this feature!
I would wear the sweater but feel I am a little too big on the bottom for the pants. Not sure if I would let the hubs pick out my outfit. He does have pretty good taste ( he chose me, didn’t he?). I love this idea. You should definitely do it again ❤️
I don’t think I would wear those pants. The top is very preppy looking(showing my age). With the top and pants together I would opt for different sandals more closely matching the top. For me the purse/tote would be a light straw with blue trim. Well, that’s just me. You tend to make anything you put on look great. Tel Joe “nice job”
Love the outfit and would definitely wear it. I love the quality of Talbots clothing. What a fun idea having your husband pick out the outfits. Would enjoy seeing you continue with this. I would let my husband pick out an outfit for me. We have similar likes in clothing. I so enjoy your blog. Thank you
I love that you are brave and that your husband has such good taste. Those colors compliment your skin tone.
Personally I would wear that outfit if it was in autumn colors. I definitely love the purse’s size and color.
My bravery comes when wearing clothes my 31 year old daughter has chosen for me…a little more textured and patterned that I usually wear. However I always get compliments. So I definitely need her to keep me current and fun.
Love the outfit and the idea of Joe picking your outfit! So fun!
I love this outfit. I would wear the sweater and the pants. Great job!
Joe did a good job!! My husband use to pick out almost all my clothes and i always loved what he chose! Now, I can’t get him to go into a store unless it’s Lowe’s or a feed store!!
I think Joe did great! Looks like a golfing 🏌️ outfit to me … maybe that’s a hint… ha! I’m sure my hubby would pick out something similar….. or maybe I don’t want to see what he would pick out! 😜
I really like the sweater. I have noticed it in the Talbot catalog. Looks great on you as well.
I like the printed slacks, but I am too timid to try them for myself.
Overall, I feel Joe did a great job picking this outfit.
I like this game! As for the outfit… your hubby picked a beautiful one for you. The colors and style are amazing!
I like the outfit, it looks great on you. Go Joe! He has great taste!
I like the pants but I am petite and think they would over take me. I would not let my husband look at any clothing catalogues because he would think every thing is too expensive. Not sure who I would let pick out clothes for me in my family, maybe my daughter or sister in law.
I can’t put my finger on exactly what I don’t like about this outfit, but I wouldn’t wear it. I think maybe the print in the pants is what throws it for me.
I would not let my husband pick my outfit. I have too much fun with fashion; it’s my hobby, kind of, so I want it all to myself!
As far as a regular feature of your blog; nothing against Joe, but I’d say no, what’s the point? You have such a great style sense that I’d prefer to see what you like. And I agree! Talbot’s must have done a revamping to keep up with the trends and what women want, while still keeping their classic look.
I love their clothes!
Joe has good taste. The color combination is very flattering for you. I like the idea of letting Joe pick out an outfit. Can’t wait to see outfit number two.
Joe did great. I cannot wear the sweater as it is too heavy for Gulf coast Texas. It is gorgeous on you. I had a pair of print pants a few years back with this color combo and loved them – too bad I grew out of them haha
I think Joe did okay. I have looked at the pants on a mannequin at the mall where I walk, but they look much better on you. Love the sweater.
I like the outfit on you! 😊
I’m not sure about the print pants for myself only because I carry my weight in my legs.
Yes, this would be a fun addition to your blog.
No, I wouldn’t let my husband pick out my clothing.
We do not have the same taste.
Kim 🌸
Woohoo!! FINALLY figured out how to leave a comment! I think. My ex fiancé was amazing at selecting outfits! They looked great, they were usually something I would never pick and I ALWAYS got compliments.
Your husband has good taste! That outfit is great on you, especially love the color of the sweater for you.
Wow… Joe did an excellent job! The outfit looks classic and timeless. The colors also look stunning on you. I would love to see more of this type of post in the future! ♥️
Right on Joe! What a fantastic outfit. Those colours look great on you. He is a keeper 🙂
I would let my husband pick out an outfit for me for sure. Joe did a fabulous job on this outfit. I would wear the pants and sweater as they are a style I think would look good on me. Plus I love blue and I am always about wearing anything in the color blue. I would not wear the shoes as I need something with a bit more a wedge. I would have a back ache wearing this style. I love this game and think you should do it all the time. 🙂
You look wonderfully fun in this outfit! Joe did a great job.
I’ve tried on printed pants, and I came very close to purchasing them, but they were out of my comfort zone, and so I declined. I have a couple that are houndstooth which have a more “corporate” look and those work for me. I bought a printed skirt from Talbots with a kind of vacation-y scene on it that I haven’t worn yet, but I might if we ever go on vacation again!
Love the sweater! I’d wear that in a heartbeat!
I think your husband did a FANTASTIC job on picking out that sweater and pants. Really fresh snd pretty. Good job, Joe!
Tania your DH did a great job, this outfit looks darling on you, suits your bright personality. For me, 5’2″ in thick socks & heavier than I’d like, I’d go w/the navy print pants & sweater in navy (saw on their website). My husband doesn’t have a clue about style but he does go shopping for me w/our 18-yr old DD 😉
Your husband did a great job and I’d enjoy this as a recurring blog post! The outfit looks really good on you! (Why does he like Talbot’s so much? I doubt if my husband could name a clothing store. Haha! But, I would like for him to choose an outfit for me to wear.)
I would wear the top. I love the colors and style! But, the pants are not my style in fabric or cut.
Tell Joe he did good! Not sure those pants would work at my height, I am a bit taller than you. Not sure about letting my husband pick out an outfit for me unless I lay down some limits like “Would you let your daughter wear that?” LOL
I love that outfit on you! Joe has excellent taste! Can’t wait to see the next one! Bravo, Joe!
Your outfit looks great!
I do like the outfit that Joe picked.
I think it looks nice and I would wear it!
My husband doesn’t do a good job picking out clothes for me, they look like they are for a lot older woman!lol
I think this is a fun addition to your blog! It is always good to know what the guys in our lives like to see us wear once in awhile. I love the outfit too! I’d seen it in the Talbots catalog, but was sad to discover it was one of the few Talbots items that is not in petites. So I’m raising my hand for Joe to help you out once in awhile.
I would totally wear the entire outfit!! Although I beg my husband every night to pick out my work outfit for the next day, I’m afraid that IF he ever took me up on it what that outfit might be. LOL!
I’m impressed, I got to say! Joe gets an A+! I love the colors of blue. white, yellow and summery green. I bought a pair of print pants last year and may buy another this year. The sweater is a great weight for spring. Would I let my husband pick out my clothes..I don’t think so. He always says to me when I ask his opinion….don’t ask me, I’m colorblind. LOL. And he is colorblind so he stays away from picking colors for decorating or painting our house. This was fun and I’d like to see Joe’s picks (maybe Joe’s gems) every week. Thanks Tania, it was fun!
Your husband has good taste indeed. I have seen this outfit on a sales lady in Talbots, and on another blogger. That said not sure I would buy it. Love the structure and everything about the sweater.
My favorite color is “plaid. So I do wear print on my bottom…just not keen on this print.
I love the sweater. I tend to shy away from print pants but if my husband chose them I would give them a try. I love the idea of handing him a catalog and having him pick out something for me – I think I’ll try it !
You look beautiful as always! Love the top but I could not get away with printed bottoms. Joe did good! 😁
Hi Tania, Joe did great!! I love the colors, the combination of solid and print…it all looks terrific and I would wear it…EXCEPT for the shoes! haha. Seriously, I would’ve chosen a tan or beige sandal or flat, because the other colors are pale. IMHO, the navy is too dark with the rest of the look. My eye went straight to your feet. Plus, a tan or beige shoe would’ve complimented the purse. Yes, let’s bring Joe into the conversation periodically!
Joe did a great job! The sweater is versatile & would go with jeans, a jean skirt, white pants, white denim skirt. The pants are darling & with a bit of the yellow/lime green they would be great with a plain white shirt, or a white t-shirt and jean jacket. Very youthful and fun print!
First, that blue is beautiful on you! Then, yes, I would let my husband pick out an outfit. He has a pretty good eye for color and shape. I think the colors of the outfit are very “springy” and I would wear it. I’m 5’8 and love ankle pants. I also will admit to a sweater obsession. I love this outfit.
Joe did a great job. My husband would not have been able to do this. I generally dislike everything he picks out for me. I love the sweater. but I would not wear the jeans –i am not a fan of prints I think they make me look bigger than i already am.
Great idea and Joe did a great job! This is such a fun concept, and I showed my husband, who is a lot like Joe, and he thought it would be fun for the husbands to pick out the wive’s outfits next time our group gets together. Then he started mumbling something about orange polka dot tops and green plaid bottoms, but he knows we have to be willing to wear the outfit outside the house, ha! Love this concept and looking forward to the next outfit. Still enjoying your blogs and getting inspiration all the time. Thanks Tania!
Joe has great taste in women and clothes. You look beautiful in this outfit. My husband has great taste as well. John is like Joe and is a gift giver and loves to buy me things, but he spends more than I would. This game is a fun idea!
That outfit looks great on you. I love the top, but I prefer pants with no pattern on me. I am short and rarely find patterned pants that I love. I do however love this game. My daughter has picked out clothes that I love, but my mom still tries and bless her heart they are usually awful.
I LOVE the outfit and that blue looks amazing on you! Joe did a great job!!
I LOVE this outfit! The color is beautiful on you, and the pattern on the pants makes it a gun look while still being polished. Kudos to Joe!!!
I think your husband did a great job of picking out that cute outfit for you; I can’t wait to see the other one he chose. The sweater looks light and springy, and I do really like the printed pants. I don’t know that I would buy these pieces immediately, but I would sure try them on and would wear them if they fit nicely. I like this game; let’s have more of it! I’m inspired to have my husband pick out an outfit for me!
I love the outfit!!! The colors look great on you and are very spring like. The only thing I would change if I were to wear the outfit would be the color of the shoes. I think I would go with a lighter color shoe!
He nailed it! You always look great in pastels and that shade of blue is lovely. Plus the pants! I do believe Joe knows his wife pretty well! My husband is a super shopper and has always bought gorgeous clothes/jewelry for me–and more expensive than I would ever buy for myself. So, yes, I definitely wear what he picks out.
looking forward to outfit #2!
How fun! Yes, play this game again. Joe did well with your outfit. I especially love the sweater. My husband picks clothes out for me every Christmas and I usually LOVE what he gives me. 🙂 It’s nice to have a husband with great taste.
I think Joe has a flair for what works on you-very good color choices too! I would wear the sweater but don’t not have a reason or place to wear the slacks, if I did, though I’d wear them!
Nice husband to think that much about you to buy something for you when he’s traveling-lucky!
I think you should keep the postings of this up, it’s fun to see what a man decides for some!
I love when my husband comes shopping with me. He not only is great with picking colors that go with my skin tone. But he sees how hard I work at getting a good deal on things.
The outfit joe picked out was right on front of catalog. I remember the lady was riding a bike. I love the colors, I love the preppy look to outfit. I would so wear this outfit. I would buy it except for I am on a buying freeze until I loose my covid weight gain. So mad at myself for stress eating.
I can’t wait to see what the other outfit is he picked. I wonder if it will be preppy too or completely different?!
It is always interesting to see what our husbands like. My poor DH has had to let several things he likes go b/c they don’t suit me at all.
For your current outfit, I love the sweater and the print. I’d probably do the print in a skirt b/c that would work with my proportions (pear with short legs) better than all that print on my bottom-half with no skin.
Love the top, but pants are too busy for me. I think larger patterns on short frame make you look wider. I would let both my sons pick out clothes for me. They have great taste. Fun game, especially when you get to buy what Joe picks!!
I love the outfit, especially the sweater, and would wear it! However, I am not sure my husband would have picked those pants.
I loved the sweater before I even read the rest of your post! The blue is beautiful and would really bring out my eyes. However, I don’t think that I would feel comfortable wearing pants with pattern. I am 5’2″ and could stand to lose 15 pounds so it would emphasize that. I love this idea of having someone else pick an outfit–it’s like having a personal stylist!
I love the outfit on you. It is very much your style. I am short waisted and heavier than I want so I wouldn’t be brave enough to wear them. The sweater is beautiful. I could never let my husband pick an outfit since he is color-blind. I often have to tell him what colors he is wearing. Enjoy your day!
I love these pants because they are print and I am a short-waisted Apple! I love the idea of doing this every so often–Joe has excellent taste!
Joe has great taste. I would definitely wear this entire outfit. The sweater is beautiful and I love the pattern on the pants and also the colors.
Please play this game again.
I really like the outfit on you. Joe has great taste! The blue sweater is beautiful on you. Great post.
I love the outfit and it looks great on you, he did a great job! I don’t think I’m brave enough to let my husband do. I think this would be great as a regular feature. Thanks!
Cute idea, love the last picture of you laughing.
Joe did a great job! If my husband picked out my clothes let’s just say I wouldn’t be able to leave the house! Lol! Seriously though, he’s actually great at helping me choose dresses for special occasions. He also is good with which colors look best on me.
Joe did great and you look adorable!
I love the pants! I had seen them (and the skirt) in the catalog and considered them. You made up my mind…I am going to get them.
love the outfit joe picked out! love the pants, I ordered the purse, top and scarf. the outfit looks great on you.
I like the game! I don’t think I could wear the pants: I am afraid if printed slacks 😦
Oh, and I think I’d trust my daughter over my husband!
My husband has picked out clothing for me and I like it most of the time. He chooses very classy outfits and not anything that is basically trendy.
This is a great idea! I would wear each separately (love the pants!). Yes, I’d let my husband or daughter pick out an outfit (especially my 30- something daughter!). And yes, for this idea on a regular basis!
Very cute outfit, good job Joe! Unless my husband does MUCH better on my clothing choices then his own, NO WAY! I just raise my eyebrows any more and he retreats to the closet with me following! I wish they had a “Garanimals” clothing line for men so he would have an easier time!
Joe picked out an adorable outfit. Hope you let him pick out more clothes. Love the sweater and pants. My Joe passed away 9 years ago but he hated shopping so no I wouldn’t have trusted him to pick me out an outfit. Trusted him on everything else though.
PS I saw you on Pinterest but don’t understand the website entry below. I put Pinterest and then it ask for URL. Have no idea what that is. I’m not Tech friendly.
Linda, Joe likes to think that he is a fashion expert. Lol! Sometimes I like his choices, but other times, not so much. BTW, you don’t have to fill in the website entry spot. That is more for people commenting that have a blog.
You had me ROTFLMBO. My Talbots sales catalog arrived and before you even posted this I had looked at it and left it open on the dining room table. He saw those pants and said I better order a curtain rod to go with them. LOL! Remember the Carol Burnett skit with the drapes? If not go find it.
I got my hair done yesterday and I swear we must be separated at birth twins because our hair looks the same as yours did in today’s post.
What a fun idea. I don’t think I could wear those pants. Floral doesn’t look good on big rear ends.
I love the whole outfit. I would wear it if I wore color. Sadly, I am the girl who only wears navy or black.
I like the pants, and I think I would wear them with a denim jean jacket. My husband and I have found a local boutique that he enjoys going to. He picks out clothes that I would never choose for myself, but I usually end up like them. This gets expensive because we get what I pick out along with what he picks out! Please post more like this in the future!
Kudos to Joe, great job! I would wear both items, so pretty. I saw the pants in my latest catalog, too bad I waited too long to order!
Joe did a fabulous job — he knows what looks great on you! The color, style, etc. is perfect for you! I am big fan of periwinkle so your outfit really appeals to me.
What a fun idea. I never thought about having my husband pick out an outfit for me, but I’m going to ask him to do so!
Terrific post today.
Great outfit choice, Joe!! He did wonderful. Yes, I would wear that outfit. We chose clothes for our men all the time. 😉 We want them to look good! Now, he chose something that makes you look great! Beautiful!
I love the whole outfit, although I would not wear the pants since I carry weight in my midsection and would feel very self conscious in them. I think this is a great idea for the blog. I would let my daughter pick out an outfit for me but not my husband.
3 cheers for Joe! The color combinations shout out SPRINGTIME!
Your bravery has inspired me to consider asking my husband to pick out some outfits for me.
I love your blog and I especially enjoy your stories. I like this game and will try this with my husband for sure. About the outfit, I would definitely wear that sweater but not the pants because I don’t really like them. They look great on you though!
I love the idea of Joe picking catalog outfits for you, as an alternative to in-person Dressing Room Diaries. My husband often finds stuff for me to try in Talbot’s and Chico’s, and his choices are usually 95% winners. We haven’t been to a mall since March 2020, so all my shopping has been online, and successful. Good luck with your new “game.”
This is fun and you’re brave to let Joe pick out some outfits for you. I would definitely wear the sweater but probably not the pants, as I’m not a fan of that particular pattern. I don’t think I’d have the courage to let my husband pick out an outfit for me because there’s a pretty good chance I wouldn’t like it and I wouldn’t want to hurt his feelings. I’d love to see this as a regular feature…good for you & Joe!
You look fabulous in the outfit!! Yes, I would definitely well everything, except maybe I would add my Birkinstock sandals instead of your blue sandals.
Joe did a good job choosing your outfit. Like another comment, I think the shoes are too dark for this outfit. Your color palette is definitely spring and you have such a bubbly personality and the colors in the outfit reflects those traits.
This was a fun post.
Love the outfit Joe picked for you!! You look Fabulous! I Love the sweater but the pants are not something that I would normally pick. I usually stick with solid pants but I would be willing to give them a try! I would let my husband pick out an outfit for me as long as it’s from a catalog or on the mannequin. I don’t want him just randomly picking things out! Lol! Enjoyed the post today! Hope you keep it a regular feature!
I like the skirt so much better – the pants are just a little much – I actually was thinking of the skirt for a wedding I have in July. It looks like it is going to be a casual outdoor affair as Michigan is only allowing indoor events/gatherings for 25 people max. These poor June and July brides are scrambling to find outdoor venues for their events. Oh, I would NEVER let my husband pick out my outfits – I won;t even let him buy me clothes for Christmas or Birthdays – gift card only.
I love the whole outfit!!!! Great job Joe!
Love the outfit. The colors are beautiful. I would wear the sweater and love the pants but probably wouldn’t wear them as I don’t like to bring attention to that part of my body. I don’t have a husband but I would have wished for help with picking out some of my past wardrobe decisions. Continue doing this, it’s fun.
Love the idea and the outfit is very nice…the first thing I thought of was golf, Joe’s a golfer, that’s why he lies that outfit. I’m afraid if I let my husband pick out my clothes I’d be wearing leather pants and spike heeled shoes, lol!
Good work Joe! I recently ordered the skirt in that print, although it has been too cool still here in the Northeast to wear it. I had planned on putting it with a denim shirt that the model shows, but the other day I had a lemon-lime v neck sweater on & just for fun tried them together, worked great. The blue is good choice too. A nice color on you.
I love the sweater and pants on you. I would not wear the pants myself but would absolutely wear the sweater. The periwinkle color is fabulous! I love the idea of Joe picking out an outfit for you. You could wear a burlap sack and still look gorgeous I think!
I would wear this outfit, and love the color of the sweater. I am brave enough to let my husband pick out my outfit because he definitely knows what I like and don’t like. I asked my daughter to shop for some tops for me when she was 22. She did a great job and selected cute things that were age appropriate for me. I love this idea and would like to see it featured on a regular basis. I’m also loving the setting of your recent photo shoots. 🙂
Joe did a great job! That outfit looks great on you! I hope you continue this feature. It will be interesting to see if all his picks are that good.
My husband has to ask me if a tie goes with a shirt, so I don’t think I would wear an outfit he picked out. 😉
Hmmm. I don’t mind the sweater, but the pants are not my favorite. I let my husband pick out my clothes once. He chose a large burgundy corduroy coulotte, with a chunky navy sweater. When I walked I squeaked from the corduroy. I love this idea of your husband, “would you wear it?” I hope he continues.
As soon as I seen your outfit , I said, I Love It!! That was even before you said your Husband picked it out, Lol. I’m all about Color, and that color on you looks Great!
My husband picking me an outfit out would be a Big No, lol!!
I LOVE everything about Joe’s outfit!! He did a great job choosing! Both pieces look great on you, Tania. I’m a ‘Fall’ pallet I so wouldn’t wear these colours. But I do have print slacks in my closet which I love & find fun for summer!!!!
Love this bi-weekly post?
Your Husband did a terrific job. The color is great on you and the v neck top is very attractive for you. And those pants. Wow, he did good. Let’s see what else he can pick out for you. I like this game.
Very good job Joe!
Love the outfit on you! That blue really makes your eyes pop & I especially love the shot of you laughing. Joe did a great job!
If I asked my husband to pick an outfit out for me I’d get the eye roll!
I love that outfit. I must admit I looked at those pants and was worried the print was a bit much. The colors are so springy and gives me hope that warm weather is coming! I think I’m going to buy the sweater….I love a good v neck and so does my husband!
I love this outfit – I am definitely a pastel girl for sure! I think I would wear a tank or cami under the sweater. As for choosing my outfits – my daughter yes – husband not so much – pretty sure he was absent the day fashion genes were given out! Would love to see more of this – variety keeps your blog fresh!
I like Joe’s taste! The color, the style…looks great on you! I would allow my husband to pick out my outfits. Like Joe, he also has really great taste!! Thank you!
Joe did very well! Not sure I’d let my husband pick out my outfit, but maybe Joe could give him some tips and I’d be more likely to allow him then! I would definitely wear your outfit. V-neck is most flattering and the sweater doesn’t have cables to add bulk! I only do solid tops as my top is my heaviest portion. Floral on the bottom draw attention to smaller legs and helps balance the whole look!
Seems like most people love the outfit. I’m not a huge fan. You look great as always, but I don’t really like Joe’s choices this round. It all seem a little too much. Too many colors, too preppy, and too matronly. Maybe if the sweater was a solid? I wouldn’t wear the sweater because of the stripes. The pants really look nice on you and fit you well, but I wouldn’t wear that busy of a print nor would I wear yellow. I am a downer today because I’m not a fan of the shoes either! I think the color is too dark given the rest of the outfit. Your choice in purses are always terrific and you did it again here. I guess that’s the only part I like. Really fun post! Keep it up. Thanks for all your hard work! I would let my husband pick out an outfit for me. I’m not sure he would… I’ll have to check on that.
Blessings on your day!
I love the idea!!! hope to see more of this. I love the sweater but I couldn’t wear the pants because of my thunder thighs, I think the print would not be flattering because of those things. I would probably let my husband pick out an outfit but can pretty much assure you he would not be as good at it as Joe. in fact he would pick something ridiculous just to be funny. keep these coming, I love it!
I love the outfit and the “game”–I would definitely wear this outfit!! I may do an experiment and let my husband pick an outfit from my closet first!
That is definitely a good way to test the waters before letting him spend the $$!
Great spring post!!! I would love to wear that outfit. The V-neck sweater is perfect for my 5’2″ self. The pants are so fresh and pretty for spring. My husband is sharp dresser, I would let him pick out my outfit. My daughter picks out many of my outfits! This is a great game, would love to see it continue! I shop at Talbot’s. My 18 daughter picked out a darling grey snowflake sweater for me from Talbots!! Good job Joe!!!
I love this idea! So fun! I was also surprised Joe picked out pants. I would definitely wear the skirt in this print. My husband is usually great at picking out my style too! But we have also been married 45 years and he knows what I like 😉
Love the sweater but not a fan of the pants. I’m more of a solid color gal for my bottoms. I’d be good with my hubby picking out my clothes as he knows my tastes very well. Joe did a good job 🙂
The outfit looks good on you however at my age and as short as I am I feel like I would look like a little old lady in this outfit. (Which I am but don’t want to look like one)😉. I don’t think I would let my husband pick out my outfits. He’s good with his own clothes but I think he would make me look like a little old lady. It would be interesting to see a trend of what your husband would pick out.
I think he did a fantastic job!! Kudos to the hubby!
Oh wow, he did very well. Definitely knows what comments his lady!! I honestly could not let mine pick out my outfit. Our taste are so way different.
I would never let my husband pick out my clothes. He is color blind.
I love the outfit, both top and bottom. Too hot for me to wear – live in the Caribbean + Menopausal 🙂 Used to be Talbots was rather unexciting but will have a look at it now that I’ve seen this outfit.
Hi Tania, I’m new to your blog and I like this idea for a regular post! I would not wear the pants because I have short legs which would only be accentuated by them. The sweater is cute and would be great with a pair of white jeans. I go hot and cold on Talbots but have a lot of basics from there. My husband has great taste in men’s clothes and always looks great. Funny story- I have a favorite pair of black and white sling backs that he picked when we were shopping a few years ago. I always get compliments on them and most women are impressed when I tell them the hubby picked them out for me.
I love the sweater, especially the color. However, I’m in south central Texas and it would be too hot to wear it. The pants look super cute on you, but my hips are too big to wear prints on my bottom half. I love Talbots, but don’t shop there too often. I can’t imagine letting my husband pick out clothes for me.
Absolutely love this outfit. Talbots has definitely stepped up their styles and I do find myself shopping there often. Had lunch with my sister last week and she had the that same outfit on. Unfortunately my size is sold out. Good job Joe
Great job, Joe!!!
Love your outfit for today! Great job, Joe!
I don’t think I’d be brave enough to let my husband pick my outfit.
Great looking outfit. Color of the top is great for you.
Hope you keep the game going. It is a nice twist.
Joe did an AWESOME job. You look fabulous!!) I am a huge fan of Talbots. Enjoyed the post. Have a BLESSED day everyone.
Joe did a great job. I love the blue sweater and floral pants on you and think it would be something I would wear. Love Talbot’s.
I would wear that outfit. Especially the sweater. I need short inseam/petite pants, so I would have to try those on to be sure, but the fabric is great. Since I am short, if I wear patterns on the bottom, I try to get subtle ones. All in all, good job Joe!!
This idea is a lot of fun…I follow Jennifer and Pam and love their “would you wear it” posts. I showed my husband your picture and he said “yeah, that looks nice…maybe the pants are too busy but I like the colors.” He knows me and knows I don’t wear patterned pants, but it’s only because I am an introvert and don’t wear anything that draws attention. I just can’t seem to come out of my shell. The sweater…love, love, love. I have always been drawn to a tennis sweater and this might have to find it’s way into my cart. Keep these posts coming because I will share with my husband to get his reaction. This could be very enlightening.
Joe did a good job! Your outfit is your style and so cute. I would definitely let my husband pick out an outfit for me.
I love your outfit! Joe did a great job. I usually shy away from print pants because they limit the tops I have to go with them. I’d love to see the “husband picked my clothes” series continue!
I love the colors of your whole outfit and would definitely wear the sweater. I had a pair of print jeans similar to this in my 20’s and absolutely loved them. Now that I am 57, I wouldn’t be against wearing them, but might ask my daughter or daughter in law what they thought first, ha!
When my husband and I first married he had a tendency to pick out clothes I could see his mom wearing, so I have always avoided having him pick. Clothing choices are a standing joke with us. When I ask him to choose which outfit he thinks would be best for an occasion he says I always wear the other. I tell him that is how I know what to wear. He picks one and I wear the other! Now that it has been 37 years, maybe I should give him another chance to pick something out…maybe!
Great post Tania!
I love the idea of your hubby or someone else picking out an outfit for you to wear.
Joe did WELL… The colors are definitely great on you! My husband will not pick clothes out of my closet for me to wear, so shopping out of a magazine would be an absolute “no way”. Super cute sweater, pants are a little busy for me having a bigger bottom but look fabulous on you!
Good job Joe!!!! Yes, to this being a regular feature. It’s great to get a man’s point of view. I’m going to try this with my hubby.
I would wear this sweater for sure, but I’d be more inclined toward the paisley pants in the widget.
Always enjoy your inspiring posts.
Joe did a great job! I love the outfit, I would wear the sweater for sure and the slacks grew on me, the shoes are so pretty and look comfortable!!! My husband has picked out clothes for me in the past, so I would let him dress me again! I also like the game of letting Joe pick out your outfit, he has some style!!!…… 🙂
I love the sweater. I wouldn’t personally wear the pants as I wouldn’t want to draw attention to my bottom half. I think having Joe pick out an outfit for you is a great idea!
I forgot to say, I love Joe picking out the outfit. Love to see our men involved. I would love my hubbby to pick out an outfit but he would never! Lol!!
Great job, Joe! I’d definitely let my husband choose an outfit. Love the colors and the bold prints on the pants.
I love the outfit and the colors, the slim pants, the floral, all of it except the sandals. I would wear brown, tan, or white with that outfit. The tan purse looks great with it!
I love the sweater on the outfit Joe picked out and would totally wear it. The pants are not for me, as I feel like patterned pants make my thighs looks big. You look great though!
I love the entire outfit! Joe did good! I would never let my hubby pick out my clothes. I pick out all of his clothes, however. I love the pants, but wouldn’t wear them, as they would highlight my chubbiness. I’m going to the gym five days a week, so I hope printed pants are in my future!
I would love the sweater in a warmer colour. The pants are cute however I’d like a smaller print. This is a great idea. Now tell us if Joe liked the outfit on YOU!
My husband would have picked out the most expensive thing he could find. Only so he could use that as an excuse to spend the same amount on something for himself 😆.
Joe did a great job! I think my husband would pick out the same outfit. I’m always surprised at how much I like the clothes my husband picks out for me. Can’t wait to see what Joe picks next
I definitely wouldn’t wear the pants, even though they are really cute. I have very thick thighs and try to wear darker solids on the bottom for that reason. I think these pants would call a lot of attention to them. Love the color of the sweater and might wear it. I don’t think I would let my husband do this bc he would never think about something like pants calling attention to any area I’m trying to camouflage.
Love the outfit! Well done, Joe! If I let my hubby pick out my clothes I would be wearing blue jeans and flannel.
I like the outfit Joe picked out! It is colorful but not loud!
NO NO NO I wouldn’t let my husband pick out an outfit for me! Nor would he!
I work at a women’s clothing boutique and I had a lady come in at the age of 86, whose husband passed away 6 plus months ago and he
always picked out her clothes. I felt so bad for her
as she was lost as to where to start to buy something.
I felt so good being able to help her to feel sure about herself in new clothes. Have a beautiful day!
I love the outfit your husband picked for you!
I think he did a fabulous job, and I would wear it in a heartbeat 😊
I would let my husband pick an outfit, although he would definitely need help in getting the right size. Lol
What a fun challenge! I love what Joe picked for you. It looks great. I love the sweater and have been eyeing it and may have to purchase it for myself. 🙂 The patterned pants look great but I feel like I wouldn’t wear them often as a pattern is memorable.
I think mine would be the next to go to the dog house. I can honestly tell you his comment would be “why do you need something new? You have so many clothes now!” This is a man that rotates between 4 outfits as long as I wash at least one of them before he has worn the 4th one. Can you see my head shaking from side to side in defeat? I love him to pieces but maybe because his simpler outlook tones down exaggeration! 😂
Great picks Joe. This outfit looks very nice on you. Love the blue color on you. Love the idea to let Joe pick an outfit for you. I may give my husband the Talbots catalog and see what he may pick out for me.
Love the outfit! Please continue your “game” of your hubby picking out yet outfit!
I would wear the sweater but not the pants and only because of the color. I have a friend that is very good at picking out clothes and color so I would let her pick me out an outfit in a heartbeat!
Wow! Joe did a great job. I couldn’t let my husband pick my outfit, he is color blind. I would definitely wear the pants but V necks don’t look good on me. This is a fun segment. Would love to see it at least once a month.
Joe did great, I love this outfit on you and he obviously took his challenge seriously! I dont love the stripe on the sweater and the print on the pants has yellow in it so they are out, but I wonder what my husband would choose? I love this game, keep it!!
So fun! I wouldn’t normally wear printed pants but the outfit works and is lovely! Yes, I would let my hubby pick an outfit too!
I think Joe did an AWESOME job!!!! I think he has very good taste. Of course he picked you too!!!
Love the V neck. I am a huge fan of the color too. Printed pants will only attract more attention to my large bottom.
Joe did way better than my husband could.
I love this idea but not sure I could actually wear what someone else chooses for me. Can’t wait to see the next one
I love the outfit but wouldn’t feel comfortable wearing the pants.
I usually don’t like outfits my husband picks out!
Love this whole outfit! Joe did good! The colors are very pretty. And no, I would not let my husband pick out my clothes!
Would wear the sweater.
I might as my boyfriend to pick out an outfit for me. I have another friend who I know would love to pick an outfit for me.
Fun idea. Like it
he did a good job. It looks great on you and yes I would wear the whole outfit.
Love the idea of Joe picking an outfit for you.
Great choice!! Winner winner, …next can we have a pick from your mini me!
I would never let my husband pick out my clothing. The last clothing item he bought for me was a t-shirt. I opened it, and when I unfolded it, it was huge! It was too big for him. I asked him if he looked at the shirt, and he said just the tag to make sure it was a small!😂😂😂
Blue looks good on you.😊. The sweater brings out your beautiful eyes.
I have not found much at Talbots that I would wear. The only prints I wear are camo and plaid. I am too Tomboyish for girlie prints.😂
This is a fun idea.
Yep!I would send him shopping again!
Great job Joe!! I am a petite and I buy a lot of my clothes at Talbots. Love your styles.
I think ole Joe did a fantastic job picking out your outfit. The color brings out your beautiful eyes
The outfit looks fabulous on you! I probably wouldn’t wear the pants because I shy away from patterned prints in pants. I would love to see what my husband would pick for me. I miss my mother, who was the only one I could really count on to pick out clothes for me. I could always tell by her facial expression when I tried something on whether it suited me or not.
Don’t think I would let my husband pick out my outfit- maybe from a catalogue and I could tweak it- for sure!! Fun game!!
I love that color of sweater on you! I would wear a similar sweater, but not in linen…too delicate to deal with in laundering. I do not wear prints on the bottom, so the pants are a ‘no’ for me.
Two thumbs up, Joe! I love the outfit you selected for Tania.
Fun idea. Joe did well. Beautiful color and you look great. I looked at this sweater but decided against it because of the horizontal stripe at the hip. I don’t wear print pants. I’m cautious about Talbots in that they do lean matronly. I do shop there but I’m very careful what I buy. They’ve excellent cashmere, nice denim jackets & some pretty tops. Looking forward to the next Joe selection. And, No, I wouldn’t let my husband pick my outfit 😉
Very attractive outfit on you. Joe did a great job!
I would wear the sweater, love the color & the V neck. I would pass on the pants as they would make me look heavier & I already need to lose weight. They look great on you. You are definitely talker & slimmer than I. Love the key your husband pick the outfit challenge. Great idea.
I think he is trying to tell you he likes blue near your eyes. I don’t remember you wearing blue that close to your face often…. can’t explain the pants. I’ve always liked pants with pattern, but then I turned 20 in 1989. BTW, I have found myself thinking the same thing about Talbots, both the matronly and the growing on me now. But I have been trying to hone my style and closet so I am leaning more toward classic romantic and trying to say no to the less flattering boho vibe that often grabs my artist eye. Fun post!
He did good! I look forward to your posts each day. Thank you for all you do…
God bless you.
Love it . you look great in it , its casual yet not sloppy . Tania its just perfect for you. I would wear it ! Talents is great for classic dress clothes as well as their “fun stuff” ( I’d put the pants in that category) . I can’t wait to see the next Joe outfit. My husband would probably pick an ok outfit for me . He really only notices or comments on an outfit if its…… as he calls it – Far out!
Fun post -keep it going .
Talbots
