Beat The Summer Heatwave In These Six Dresses
Holy smokes, this summer is starting to heat up! 🔥 🔥 🔥 I am always amazed when I see some of you post about temperature in the 120+ range. Yikes!!! I can’t imagine stepping outside the house in that kind of temperature, and you would find me sitting in front of the air conditioner. Even though I’m not battling that kind of heat, I will be heading to Atlanta soon, so I’m starting to think of ways to stay cool. I plan to beat the summer heatwave with dresses, and here are six that I know you’ll love.
- Lightweight Linen Dresses for Women
- Best White Dresses for Women Over 50
- Best Caftan Dresses and Muumuus 2024
I’m sure most of you have heard me talk about the virtues of wearing linen in the summer to combat the summer heat. It will wrinkle, but I’m willing to take the wrinkles to keep cool.
I love this hot pink color, and the raw hem detail is so cute. While I love the style of this dress, it is a little big on me. And, honestly, I’m not sure I would shell out the money for it. I like the dress, but I don’t LOVE the dress.
I like the accessories, and I think the Shell Earrings and the Statement Cuff Bracelet would look great on a beach vacation. The Wallet Crossbody is perfect for times when you only need to carry a credit card, driver’s license, and a phone.
This is another linen blend dress, but this one is at an affordable price. If you work outside the home, that doesn’t stop for a heatwave. This gorgeous Shirtdress with Puff Sleeves is such a beautiful color, and it would make going to work more enjoyable.
The dress has an elastic waist with a self-tie belt. I would probably replace it with one from a 4pc woven belt set I bought several years ago since they would match the Tan Straw Clutch.
Now we are talking! This beautiful maxi dress is a stunning shade of blue and has an adorable seashell print. While this would be so cute to pack for a beach vacation, I think you could wear it no matter where you live!
Here is a good look at the details of this dress. I added a lot of my gold jewelry and a neutral Woven Bow Handbag. I wanted to keep the look of this outfit light and airy.
Ooooh! This white Linen Halter Fit & Flare Dress is gorgeous! I’m busy trying to think of somewhere to wear this beautiful dress. I may have to talk Joe into a fancy date night so I can strut around in this dress. Lol!
It is as stunning from the back as it is from the front. I’m wearing a size 12, which is my usual size for dresses. It fits me great through the waist, but it is a tiny bit too big for me in the chest. I would need to do a small 1/2″ seam under each arm, but that’s an easy fix.
Of course, the dress is lined! Talbots does it right when it comes to white clothing.
I feel like we all need a nice “out on the town” dress for summer. Even though Joe and I don’t go out on the town often, I like to have a nice dress in my closet in case I need one.
I could see me wearing this Satin Midi Slip Dress out to eat on vacation. It would be great to take on a cruise since it is lightweight and wouldn’t take up much space in your luggage. I’m wearing a medium, and it fits me great and I even have a little extra room to spare.
This was my favorite of all today’s dresses. I loved it the minute I saw it on the website, and it didn’t disappoint me when it arrived in person.
The dress is very lighweight and flowy making it perfect for a hot summer day. I love the embroidery details, and the shades of pink, yellow, and green look amazing against the beatuful teal background.
This dress has a drop waist, but it also comes with a beautiful rope belt with tassels if you want to create a waistline. I love the dress both ways, and I can’t make up my mind which way I liked best. Did I mention that the dress has pockets?!?
This color is almost completely sold out, but it is available in Spice which would look great this fall. Here are some more I found from this website that are gorgeous.
What do you think? Which of these six dresses to beat the summer heatwave is your favorite?

LOVE the white halter dress!
Love the Swim Dresses. Thanks for posting!!
Love the blue dress!
My goodness! I can’t pick a favorite. I really loved each dress and wished I owned them all! On another note, I’m glad you post sizes. Sadly, I too tied to numbers for sizes and on the scale. Seeing you in every size from small to large drives home the point that size is irrelevant and how you look and feel is what matters. perhaps a very important lesson for many women.
I vote for the Teal dress with the darling rope belt! I love it!!! you look amazing it it both ways but the belt is so cute, I would just have to wear it!
Of course I love the dress that is “out of stock” in my size, the teal one! It is very pretty on you. Thanks for what you do.
Love the dress from Sundance
Soak up every minute of that granddaughter wanting to stay with you! I have so many fond memories of staying overnight with my grandparents — even though their house was next to ours. My favorite dresses are the hot pink one and the Lilly Pulitzer seashell one. But I wouldn’t pay the price for either one. I love dresses for hot Texas summers. One and done!
Have fun again today with your granddaughter! While you look so nice in all of the dresses, I do t have a favorite.
Good morning! That linen halter fit and flare dress looks fantastic; it looks like it would be flattering enough for my middle and yes I could take in the upper sides a little too. I am even able to wear white later in the summer (paleskin, moi). Very interesting. 🙂
