50 IS NOT OLD | BEING HANDKERCHIEF READYFirst thing I want to tell you is that I appreciate every one of you leaving a comment the other day on my giveaway post. The winner will be announced at the end of the today’s post. I was overwhelmed at how sweet and kind you were to me in your comments. When I started reading them that morning I ended up in tears. The more I read the more I cried. Gurls, I am not a pretty crier. I hate crying even if it is happy tears. Lol! I truly was moved by your words and how much of your heart you shared with me. Thank you, thank you, thank you!50 IS NOT OLD | BEING HANDKERCHIEF READYI have always envied women who could cry and just dab at the corners of their eyes. Their makeup seems to stay in place and they look cute and adorable as they weep. Not me, I have a runny red nose, mascara all down my face, my face gets blood red, and I don’t weep, I sob. I cry at commercials, I cry at cartoons, and don’t ask me about funerals. I don’t cry when I am mad but I cry if someone apologizes. I think I am wired a little screwy. Because I like vintage items, handkerchiefs are something that I would love to use. I think they are so feminine and I will stick one in my purse every time I have to go to a funeral. But, I never end up using them because I am afraid that I will end up ruining them with my mascara. Have any of you used handkerchiefs? Will mascara ruin them? Don’t even get me started about sneezing. Lol!!! 50 IS NOT OLD | BEING HANDKERCHIEF READY I am calling this my tea stained top. Isn’t it just wonderful for fall? This is a top off of the sales racks (shop the sales first) and it is sleeveless. I don’t pay attention to that since I knew I would be wearing something it to keep me warm. I loved the pattern and the color of the top and I think it will go with a lot of things. This is a top by Umgee and I liked the fact that it had a key-hole neckline and a large ruffled hem. The hem is accented with little white tassels which add a lot to the look of the top. This will be super cute come spring with a white jacket or cropped leggings.

50 IS NOT OLD | BEING HANDKERCHIEF READY You can hardly see my earrings, Lol! They are such a deep color and then they turned sideways to the point that they almost disappeared. I love the Antique Gold Filigree earrings even though I don’t wear them often. They are super lightweight and comfortable. I chose them to compliment the Jenica necklace that I have on. The necklace has a lot of dangles and beads and charms. I think they might have left off the kitchen sink but that is about all. I will warn you though that this is a pretty substantial necklace, aka, it is heavy. I don’t like really heavy necklaces so before I left out the door I ended up yanking it off. Boy, I am some kind of a salesman, aren’t I??? The Pippa leather bracelet is one that I haven’t worn in forever but I just felt like I “needed” leather with this look. Then, I finished off the look with the Barbara basket weave bracelet. I chose to wear that since it was in the same antique bronze look. To order anything go to www.plunderdesign.com/taniastephens and pick a party with my name in it. Also, be sure to check out the specials tab since there has been a lot of Breast Cancer Awareness items added. 50 IS NOT OLD | BEING HANDKERCHIEF READY I have a pair of dark brown leggings on for this look. I love legging weather and wearing them with boots. Bring on FALL!!!

50 IS NOT OLD | BEING HANDKERCHIEF READYYou might have noticed that I have on my Old Navy denim jacket again. (Yesterday’s look) I was talking to my sister today and mentioned that I might do several different looks all featuring the denim jacket. So, for the next few days, all of my outfits will have a denim jacket. My mid-shaft booties are c/o white mountain last year. I really like this style for a change from wearing knee boots. Plus with the long tunic, it lets the legs look longer.

50 IS NOT OLD | BEING HANDKERCHIEF READYMichelle Castagne is the winner of the Alex and Ani bracelet!!! Congratulations, I hope you will love it. I will send you an email to get your address and have it shipped directly to you.

The first round of new Rodan + Fields consultants has hit Australia!!! Those who were pre-enrolled have been allowed to sign up and it will open up to everyone else on September 14th in Australia. It is a really exciting time for everyone in Australia and I enjoyed talking to Tracey, Valerie, and Natalie last night. It is wild to think that I have a global team with consultants in several states in the US and now also Canada and Australia. Someone pinch me. I would never in a thousand years have thought anything like this would have been in my future. What’s in your future? I took a chance and boy have things changed. A girl from Grundy VA was talking to ladies in Australia…..amazing! Email me if you, or someone you know and love, is looking for a change.

Bonus content: You have heard me mention that my sister is an author. As a way to encourage kids to write, she’s holding a short-story contest!

If you know any 10-13-year-olds who like to write or teachers/librarians at a middle-school, check out her post HERE.  Students have until September 30th to send in their stories, so share the news. Good luck!

If you are enjoying my blog I would appreciate you signing up for my daily emails. You only get one email a day and it is just to let you know that a new post is now live. 5. Hi Tania and all USA ladies, we Aussies are watching the news about another devastating hurricane about to hit in Florida, keep your spirits up. I also have handkerchiefs still in my top draw, my mum always uses handkerchiefs, she is 82, and says that using tissues are not good for your health. I enjoyed talking with you yesterday too!

  6. I absolutely love this look. You wear it well. I am not fond of the mustard color it just doesn’t work on me, but that is why it is good there are lots of other colors. I enjoy you so much, you are fun loving and wear Color! Love it! I am fairly new to your blog, maybe 6 months old.

  7. Cynthia Willis says:

My mother was a firm believer in handkerchiefs and passed that love to both my sister and I. Tissues are ok when you have a cold and droppery, but for eye dabbing or a slight sniffle, nothing is sweeter or more feminine than a pretty hankie. When my husband passed away, I found I needed them frequently- tears were often and sometimes out of the blue. When some of my friends lost their spouses, I gave them a pretty one, with the explanation that since their would be frequent tears, they needed something pretty and a reminder that There is one who carries our sorrows and bears our grief. Jesus’ love is a constant and a comfort!

    1. Cynthia, this is beautiful! I have a drawer full of hankies. I need to remember to give some away when others are in pain.

  8. Sandra S. says:
