BEING HANDKERCHIEF READY
First thing I want to tell you is that I appreciate every one of you leaving a comment the other day on my giveaway post. The winner will be announced at the end of the today’s post. I was overwhelmed at how sweet and kind you were to me in your comments. When I started reading them that morning I ended up in tears. The more I read the more I cried. Gurls, I am not a pretty crier. I hate crying even if it is happy tears. Lol! I truly was moved by your words and how much of your heart you shared with me. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
I have always envied women who could cry and just dab at the corners of their eyes. Their makeup seems to stay in place and they look cute and adorable as they weep. Not me, I have a runny red nose, mascara all down my face, my face gets blood red, and I don’t weep, I sob. I cry at commercials, I cry at cartoons, and don’t ask me about funerals. I don’t cry when I am mad but I cry if someone apologizes. I think I am wired a little screwy. Because I like vintage items, handkerchiefs are something that I would love to use. I think they are so feminine and I will stick one in my purse every time I have to go to a funeral. But, I never end up using them because I am afraid that I will end up ruining them with my mascara. Have any of you used handkerchiefs? Will mascara ruin them? Don’t even get me started about sneezing. Lol!!!
You might have noticed that I have on my Old Navy denim jacket again. (Yesterday’s look) I was talking to my sister today and mentioned that I might do several different looks all featuring the denim jacket. So, for the next few days, all of my outfits will have a denim jacket. My mid-shaft booties are c/o white mountain last year. I really like this style for a change from wearing knee boots. Plus with the long tunic, it lets the legs look longer.
Michelle Castagne is the winner of the Alex and Ani bracelet!!! Congratulations, I hope you will love it. I will send you an email to get your address and have it shipped directly to you.
The first round of new Rodan + Fields consultants has hit Australia!!! Those who were pre-enrolled have been allowed to sign up and it will open up to everyone else on September 14th in Australia. It is a really exciting time for everyone in Australia and I enjoyed talking to Tracey, Valerie, and Natalie last night. It is wild to think that I have a global team with consultants in several states in the US and now also Canada and Australia. Someone pinch me. I would never in a thousand years have thought anything like this would have been in my future. What’s in your future? I took a chance and boy have things changed. A girl from Grundy VA was talking to ladies in Australia…..amazing! Email me if you, or someone you know and love, is looking for a change.
Bonus content: You have heard me mention that my sister is an author. As a way to encourage kids to write, she’s holding a short-story contest!
If you know any 10-13-year-olds who like to write or teachers/librarians at a middle-school, check out her post HERE. Students have until September 30th to send in their stories, so share the news. Good luck!
If you are enjoying my blog I would appreciate you signing up for my daily emails. You only get one email a day and it is just to let you know that a new post is now live. Also, please share my blog with others that you know. There are ways that you can help me and some of them are by making sure that you “pin” something daily or that you “share” my post on FaceBook. Great outfit, congrats to Michelle on the getting the bracelet. I wear my jacket a lot in the fall, just some more great ideas for outfits. Thanks. (and I cry over everything too. LOL) 😉
Hi Tania!!
I love your style. This is how I dress!! I love to make outfits. But my shopping budget is Goodwill, thrift and salvation army level. This is why your Blog is so important. I can make a list and hit the stores! I love the jacket idea I have a military style denim jacket that I wear all the time.
I do have a style dilemma. When I attend my kids sporting events I feel like a I stick out like a sore thumb cuz the other moms are all running around in yoga/running pants and zip up athletic jackets. The only time I wear those items is when I am really at the gym or working out. So what is proper? Am I truly overdressed in jeans, and top? I just like to look nice. I am usually with my husband (of 20 years!!) and always like to look nice for him.
Your jewelry rocks!! It makes such a difference its like icing on the cake!! I also love your shoe choices. being a whole 5 ft. I am almost always in some type of heel.
Keep making the world beautiful!!!
Robin
Robin, thanks for the comment because I think a lot of us have dilemmas similar to this. Jeans are totally appropriate for sporting events!!! I bet if you knew what the other women were thinking it would be something along the lines that you look nice and they wish they had taken the time to dress up a little. I would hold my head high and let the confidence show that you know you look nice. Whenever I go to any kind of an event I would hate to be the under dressed person there. Keep up the good work!
Good morning, Miss Tania!
OOOOHHHHH, how beautiful you are in this uber feminine top! The touches of leather and denim give you the perfect look of sweetness and power that women have in their souls! Lovely, soft, but also FUN and edgy!
Thank you for introducing me, ALL of us, to looking outside the box! Being our authentic self. It’s enormously powerful! Confidence building!
I’m SO excited! My Rodan & Field eyelash regime has been shipped! While I may never be as beautiful as you MAYBE my lashes will be like yours! HOPE!! LOL!!!
Hope you have a wonderful Saturday!
Annie, I can’t wait until you start leaving comments about those long, lush lashes. Lol!!!
I have several tops like this, to wear with leggings & boots, but they seem to make me feel LARGE and in charge. I’m thinking maybe the jean jacket might help with that. Thanks for the inspiration!
Mary, I agree about the jacket. Without the jacket, the top feels big, especially if you are large chested. Ladies who are endowed in that area would think that this kind of a top makes them look like they are wearing a tent. Putting the jacket on over it fixes that problem.
I love this outfit. I look forward to your blog each day, you are an inspiration.
You are hilarious. I love reading your posts. I love what a denim jacket can do for an outfit
The idea of wearing sleeveless under jackets is a great one, especially if you run ‘hot then cold’ during the day. Your outfit is so Fall-like and I love the boots! I am 5’1 1/2 inches so the long boots make me look shorter than I really am so thanks for giving me another idea. Have a great weekend!
I am not petite, Tonya, but I thought that the 3/4 boot would work great for petite women.
Congratulations Michelle!
Hi Tania, your Blog today is “hilarious” I could not stop laughing! This is why I love reading it every day. I too look forward to seeing your outfits everyday and reading about what you’re up to. I love the jean jacket as I tend to wear mine a lot too. The tea stained color of your tunic is so feminine and it looks good on you. I did not write anything the other day but I noticed 600 some people did! We all love seeing you everyday and FYI your new camera is awesome! Aimee
Aimee, are you laughing at me??? LOL!!! I do love the new camera, it is so easy to use and really compact.
I love most looks you do with the denim jacket!
I am glad you like the look because I have a couple more in mind for the jacket.
