BLACK AND WHITE FOR A CLASSY STYLE

Welcome to the weekend!!! This is not just any weekend; it is a LONG weekend for many people, so that makes it extra special. Unfortunately, it will be a cold and wet weekend here in Virginia, so there will probably not be any cookouts or get-togethers in my future. However, I don’t let the weather determine if I have a good time.

We can let many outside factors bring us down, and most of them are out of our control. I can’t control the weather or what other people do or say, but I can control my reaction to the situation. If the weather is miserable, that doesn’t mean that I have to be miserable. Instead, I can play music in my home and dance the day away. None of us can control other people, so smile and say Bless Your Heart, and go on about your day.

Lucy and I want to tell you a funny story that happened today. My grandchildren, Beckham and Emersyn, came out to visit today. Beckham, who is 3 years old, loves to tell “Lexa” to play Who Let The Dogs Out. His mother and I were in the kitchen talking while he was playing with Alexa, and all of a sudden, I hear a man talking.
I looked at Kayla and said, “who is that talking.” So, we walked over and started listening and heard the “B” word being thrown out over and over again before I could get it turned off. We asked Beckham what he was listening to, and he said, “doggy.” It then dawned on me that when he said, “doggy,” that Alexa played Snoop Dogg for him. LOL! I wonder if there is a kiddy version of Alexa. Hahaha

The world is not always black and white, but I sure do love this combination. This outfit looks so classy, but it is relaxed at the same time. I could wear this outfit to almost any function unless it were a seriously dressy occasion.
I have noticed that the polo sweater seems to be trending this year, and I love the look. However, this sweater was tighter fitting than I wanted, so I had to send it back for a larger size. I am wearing a medium, but a large would make me feel more comfortable. I want my clothing to be fitted but not tight, and this one shows a few more rolls than I would like.

Most people always want to know how long a top is in the back, so here is a photo to show you how it looks. I also love the contrasting white stripes around the hem, the sleeves, and the collar. It is a subtle unique detail that helps the sweater stand out from the crowd.

This is a great photo showing how the neckline of the polo sweater looks, and I find it very flattering. The stripes bring your eyes to the V, which helps to elongated your neck. I don’t look like a Giraffe, but my neck does look longer and slimmer.
The jewelry that I am wearing is the Rylan hoop earrings and the Fallyn cuff bracelet. I didn’t add a necklace since I didn’t want to distract from the stripes.

I’ve styled these white straight-leg jeans before (here), and I’ll probably style them again and again. These have a loose fit but not a baggy fit, and I love the straight-leg look. I am wearing my normal size 10, and they fit great. If you want a tighter fit, then you can size down.

Adding the bright pink heels to the look keeps it modern and fresh-looking. I could have easily worn black or white heels, but I wanted to add a pop of color. Bright blue or red are two other options that I often choose when adding color to a neutral color palette.
My shoes are old, and I’ve had them for years. But, I still love grabbing them out when I want to add some pizzaz to my outfit. I’ll link to some similar options, and don’t be afraid of color. You will be surprised at how much you will enjoy adding it to your looks.

I love hearing your funny stories! That pop of pink is well thought out with the black and white jeans–which I adore, by the way. Well done,Tanya!

Love the black and white outfit with the hot pink shoes for a pop of color. It all looks great on you! 😊
Yes dear there is a content setting for Alexa. See here:

We no longer use Alexa having switched to HomeKit but you can still use Pandora with Alexa and have far tighter control over music. Unfortunately there’s no way on Prime Music to erase history or block certain genres. Anything Alexa hears can be erased in privacy but music history is kept. I learned this the hard way.
