50 IS NOT OLD | BLUE JEAN BABY QUEENI think it must be the upcoming music festival that has me singing constantly. Everything I do, ends up me singing a song. As soon as I started cropping and editing these photos, I found myself singing Rock On. I am betting that the vision of me in a blue jean skirt, is not what David Essex had in mind when he was singing this song. Hahaha50 IS NOT OLD | BLUE JEAN BABY QUEENThis skirt was one of the items I drug out of my closet when I was looking for items to wear to the country music festival on Labor Day. I had forgotten all about having this skirt. I put it on, and then immediately went running to Joe and asked, “Is this too short to wear to work?” He assured me that it was not too short, so I went in search of a top to wear.50 IS NOT OLD | BLUE JEAN BABY QUEENI am not positive I liked this top with the skirt, but I hadn’t worn the top before. That is how I decide what to wear anymore. I go into my closet, and start looking through all my tops. I try to find something that I have not already worn this spring and summer, but that is starting to get harder and harder. I have worn almost everything I own, at least once. I bought this sweater earlier this year at a different overstock store in town, and I thought it would look good. This sweater is by Susan Bristol, and I liked the fish theme. The colors are nice and bright also, it is just that the sweater seems to add extra pounds to my frame. I am not a fan of anything that adds pounds to my frame, except desserts. And I LOVE desserts. Lol!50 IS NOT OLD | BLUE JEAN BABY QUEENThe colors are so summery, I couldn’t pass up this sweater. The fact that it was on sale for 10.00 had absolutely nothing to do with my decision. Lol! I really had in mind to wear this with a pair of navy shorts or capri pants, but the skirt seemed like an okay choice.

50 IS NOT OLD | BLUE JEAN BABY QUEENThe necklace I am wearing is from Chloe & Isabel. It came with two different chains, this blue rope chain, and a burnished gold chain. I usually wear the blue rope chain, I like it with the blue in the necklace, and it is called the Morningtide Convertible Collar necklace. To purchase from Chloe & Isabel through me, just type Tania Stephens in the Find A Merchandiser box.50 IS NOT OLD | BLUE JEAN BABY QUEENThis photo is called. “Get your bra strap out of the picture.” Haha Anytime I wear a top that has thinner straps, I am constantly tucking the bra straps back in place. I have occasionally used “fashion tape” to keep them in place, but usually I just do the tuck method. The bracelets I have on are the Edith bracelet by Plunder Design and the Square Retro Bracelet by Chloe & Isabel. If you order from either of these, be sure to let me know, they do not always credit the correct account.50 IS NOT OLD | BLUE JEAN BABY QUEENThis skirt is one that I bought years ago, and I bought it at a yard sale. There are not a lot of yard sales around this area that I can go to, I am usually at work or to lazy to get out of bed, but this one was mine. Sandy, Bertha, and I had a yard sale, and we probably bought more from each other than we sold. Lol! This skirt was Sandy’s daughter’s skirt, and I had never owned a denim skirt before. I thought this would be an easy way to see if I would like one. I have kept it all these years, so I must like it, at least a little bit.

Or maybe I bought them at Ross, I don’t remember, but you get the idea. I do know that I bought the light gray cross body at TJ Maxx. I bought it on my way down to Tennessee one trip.

50 IS NOT OLD | BLUE JEAN BABY QUEENIt is Saturday! I am now ready to go play golf, go shopping, so swimming, or go play with the grandbaby next door. But no, I am instead working on a fundraising workshop for the woman’s club. If you have any fun fundraising ideas, please pass them on. I am going to get up in front of a bunch of women and tell them how to raise money. Please child, I only know how to spend money! Hahaha What were they thinking!

The sweater is lovely, wish I was able to wear sleeveless. 🙂

  2. I like this outfit. I’ll take your word for it that it might make you look a few pounds heavier than you are, but that isn’t evident to me, think you look great. Love the videos you include with several of your posts. I’m only a few months younger than you and am enjoying the oldies?? classics??? (don’t like being associated with the word “oldies” haha) as well as newer music. Combining the best of the past with the present is smart, in my opinion, whether in clothes, music, or whatever. Have a great weekend.

  3. I think you look ADORABLE in this outfit! I have skorts of all different colors and wear them all the time, mainly because they are COOL. Thanks for showing how they are dressed up with jewelry. I just started wearing bracelets because of your influence! ?

    1. I think bracelets are easier to wear than necklaces. Some necklaces will make my head hurt, but a bracelet never hurts. Lol!

  4. My woman’s club has done many fundraisers. Parties with a Purpose always went over big. We’ve also done: House Walks, Fashion Shows (kids and decades of brides were BIG), Girl’s Night Out (teamed with local businesses) and raffle or silent auctions for services. (I.e. Party planning, catering, lawn services, cleaning, cake decorating, etc.) you could offer fashion advice or closet organization!!
Your outfit today is so cute and dressy casual. Very chic. Love the versatility of a denim skirt. I had one a few years back with a slight flare. Loved it! Unfortunately it doesn’t fit any more?

    1. Lori, I love all your ideas, and I will be adding them to my list of ideas that I will be handing out. What state are you a woman’s club member in?

  5. I have to tell you…your hair is to die for…I just love it!

  6. Love the entire outfit! I am slipping into work and that would be perfect for today! Enjoy your saturday!

    1. Thanks Carol!!! It must be the lighting. Lol!

  8. Fun fundraiser: throw a trivia night!

  9. I just love that sweater! It is so lovely! And your bag is stylish! Have a great weekend and thank you so much for linking up with me!??

  10. love the idea of a summer sweater and yours looks perfect. It goes fabulously with the denim skirt. What does the back of it look like? Same pattern as front or is it a solid color?

    1. It is a solid color. Congratulations on your blog anniversary!

  11. Tash Peddle says:

I had to smile to myself. I always ask my husband if my skirts are too short and the reply is always the same. He has yet to say a skirt is too short.
I think you look lovely today, casual but classy.

    1. I agree, it is hard to get something too short for him. But, he sometimes balks when it comes to wearing items to work that are short. After all, I work in a lumber store where there are tons of men coming through daily. Haha

  12. I had Susan Bristol sweaters that I loved – mostly christmas. One year my 3 daughters (all over 20 at the time) sat down for christmas dinner all wearing my “mom” christmas sweaters – they thought they were so funny. I love yours it’s so graphic and fun and looks perfect with your denim skirt.
