CELEBRATING VALENTINE’S DAY

Would you be my Valentine? Who gets cards, flowers, or perfume for Valentine’s Day? Do you cook a special dinner or sip a glass of wine? I know what I am getting this year, chocolate covered strawberries! I LOVE chocolate covered strawberries and I get them every year. Probably the reason I get them every year is because “I” order them every year. Lol! I found out a long time ago that if I wanted something specific then I better ask for it or just order it myself. Joe loves this idea, it takes him off the hook. HahahaI have gotten all the “normal” presents from Joe before. There were years when I would get roses and candy, and there were times when I would get a present of some kind, but truthfully now I only want chocolate covered strawberries. I think it comes with age, I don’t feel the need to get something that shows me how much Joe loves me. I think in the past it was more about showing everybody else. If one of the other girls at work got flowers and I didn’t, then did that mean their husbands loved them more? Nope, it meant they knew that was what their wives wanted. Oh no, I just realized that I have become “practical.”Red for Valentine’s Day. What else would you expect? The red cropped jacket is spectacular, I love it. Guess where I got it? How many of you said the overstock store??? No, that is not where I got it, I got it at an estate sale when I was in Georgia. In fact, I bought a lot at that sale, the lady was my size and had my taste. I came home with several bags full. This is a George Simonton and is a size 10. I love the big gold buttons and the collarless style.

I can’t believe I put off ordering this Plunder necklace called Paris. I thought it looked too big and had too much bling for me. However, I loved it with this jacket. The large pearls and the big rhinestones look dressy instead of gaudy. The bright color of the jacket made the necklace really stand out.  The earrings match the Paris necklace perfectly. It is one of my favorites for style, but I am not fond of having to buckle it to make it stay closed. I bought this several years ago, it is great quality and will last a long, long time. These boot cut jeans are by Vigoss. I buy my Vigoss jeans at Maurices but I will wait until they go on sale. Vigoss is a nice quality jean and they will wash up and wear nicely. I decided to wear my red boots today to match my jacket. The Claudia bootie by Bellini add a little sass to this outfit. These booties are the perfect color red, they have a 3 1/2 inch heel, zipper accents, and are micro suede material. I wore them last year (here) with a similar outfit. That picture was almost a years exactly ago. That post was from February 10th and today is the 14th. You can sure tell the difference in the eyelashes. Lol!!!

I hope you and your Valentine (whoever or whatever that might be) have a wonderful day. I will tell you all about my strawberries tomorrow. Lol! Joe doesn’t know that I bought him some gourmet chocolate covered cherries. Those suckers are HUGE!!! I’ll give them to him later.
