CHECKS, PLAIDS, AND GINGHAMS
How busy is too busy? In all honesty, I love it when I have “things” to do, I don’t like having to look for something to do. I used to work at an accounting firm when I was in my early twenties and I loved tax season time. As soon as you finished one tax return you had twenty more that needed to be done. I like that type pace but sometimes I need to take a deep breath and relax in order to not become overwhelmed. If I write it all down on paper I can see that it is easier to finish my tasks than what I have imagined in my mind.
Monday night I attended my local woman’s club meeting. This was our “college shower” meeting. This is where we have at least two young ladies who are going off to college in the fall and we host a shower for them. We all bring different items such as alarm clock, bedding, lamps, laundry baskets and hampers, and gift cards. They leave with a ton of stuff. I hadn’t got to attend the last 2 meetings we had so I wanted to make sure I went to this one. I should have known better. Before I left I had been volunteered to head up a fundraising committee. It would appear our funds are dwindling and a number of monetary requests keep coming in. I told them that this was why I didn’t come to meetings and they informed me that they would have volunteered me even if I wasn’t there. Gracious! So here is my first fundraiser, everyone mail me a dollar to the GFWC Grundy Woman’s Club. Hahaha!!!
I am a sucker for checks, plaid, gingham, whatever you want to call this look. I know, it reminds everyone of a picnic tablecloth, right? I came across this the other day and loved it immediately. You know I am a sucker for bright blue! This is an Ellie May Clampet design for sure. Look at the gathering on the sleeve and the little rick rack trim down the front.
Here is the YouTube video of today’s outfit for a different perspective.
I want to thank everyone who has signed up for my emails. I promise you only get one email a day from me and I don’t give out your email addresses, that would just be weird. Lol! I am only 40 away from that magical 5000 mark, woohoo! PLEASE take the time to signup!!! Also, if you would like to share my posts on Facebook or Twitter, I would appreciate that. It helps get my blog out to more people, and I am sure you just want to spread the entertaining sayings I have. Lol! The comment section is at the end of the post, so keep scrolling. I look forward to reading all the comments, they make my day.

Blue is my favorite color too, all shades of blue. You remind me of spring so pretty and bright . Another great outfit!
Tania, I’ve sent you several emails about plunder and left one message here on your blog and have never received a response. I’d appreciate it if you would respond to me so I can repeat my questions.
Traci, I am confused. I looked in my emails and I did a name search on the blog but couldn’t find anything from you regarding Plunder. I found two comments from you about an outfit but nothing that asked a question. I am sorry that it got lost in cyberspace. Lol! What was your question?
I just started following you and I must say you inspire me in so many ways!! Love your fashion sense and the way you use color. Great blog!! Lisa
I love this shirt! Especially the color! It looks great on you!
Tania i am new to your blog and love it! Can you tell me where you purchased the plaid blouse please?
Welcome, Laura. I bought my shirt at the overstock store in town. Most of their items come from QVC.
That is a really cute and different top! And you know how good you look in that color!
Love the shirt! Thanks for the lipcolor info too!
I love that you picked a different color purse to go with this outfit, Tania!!

Good morning Tania! I bought some cobalt blue capris this past weekend at Steinmart and they are the most comfortable pants I have bought in a long time. Got a lot of compliments on them. I may go back and buy some in other colors. When you find a pair of pants that fit like a dream, you want them in every color!!! Happy Wednesday!
I do that too, Paula. I have had the same shirt in every color before. Lol!
Love the gingham. The Reese necklace is the one I ordered from you and I could not be happier! I wear it a lot because it goes with everything. I WILL send you at least $1 for your fundraiser. Please provide an address. Its the least I can do for you, given all you’ve done for us.
Mary Lou, that is sweet of you, but I was just kidding. The Reece necklace is so feminine. I have worn that and the matching bracelet several times since I bought it. I am glad that you like it!
I love your outfit, brilliant, stiking!
I love gingham,or checked , with a flowerprint. In one garment that is.
Love your outfit! Where did you find the cute shirt?
At the overstock store in town, where else??? Lol!
I love the “tablecloth” check too! My all time favorite!
I always think of picnic’s when I see this print.
Loved the plaid blouse! I look forward to your post of fashion of the day and your witty spin on life! Makes my day. I am going to check out some of the jewelry line you mention too.
Until this blog started I was never called funny or witty. I must only be able to be funny in print and not in real life. ?
Absolutely love this outfit. I love the color, and the style. And I am a Vera Bradley fan too. You knocked this one out of the park!! Fuchsia and Cobalt blue = a great combination. I know exactly how you feel about volunteering or being volunteered, I started as a GFWC helper and was President in 3 years!! They saw me coming.. LOL Good luck with your fundraiser..
Yes, Jeanne, they do tend to get the “number” of those who are workers. They say to look for the busiest person because they are the ones who will get things done. You must be one of those people. Lol!
