50 IS NOT OLD | CHECKS, PLAIDS, AND GINGHAMSHow busy is too busy? In all honesty, I love it when I have “things” to do, I don’t like having to look for something to do. I used to work at an accounting firm when I was in my early twenties and I loved tax season time. As soon as you finished one tax return you had twenty more that needed to be done. I like that type pace but sometimes I need to take a deep breath and relax in order to not become overwhelmed. If I write it all down on paper I can see that it is easier to finish my tasks than what I have imagined in my mind.50 IS NOT OLD | CHECKS, PLAIDS, AND GINGHAMSMonday night I attended my local woman’s club meeting. This was our “college shower” meeting. This is where we have at least two young ladies who are going off to college in the fall and we host a shower for them. We all bring different items such as alarm clock, bedding, lamps, laundry baskets and hampers, and gift cards. They leave with a ton of stuff. I hadn’t got to attend the last 2 meetings we had so I wanted to make sure I went to this one. I should have known better. Before I left I had been volunteered to head up a fundraising committee. It would appear our funds are dwindling and a number of monetary requests keep coming in. I told them that this was why I didn’t come to meetings and they informed me that they would have volunteered me even if I wasn’t there. Gracious! So here is my first fundraiser, everyone mail me a dollar to the GFWC Grundy Woman’s Club. Hahaha!!!50 IS NOT OLD | CHECKS, PLAIDS, AND GINGHAMSI am a sucker for checks, plaid, gingham, whatever you want to call this look. I know, it reminds everyone of a picnic tablecloth, right? I came across this the other day and loved it immediately. You know I am a sucker for bright blue! This is an Ellie May Clampet design for sure. Look at the gathering on the sleeve and the little rick rack trim down the front.

50 IS NOT OLD | CHECKS, PLAIDS, AND GINGHAMSI was going to tell you about my earrings but I found out that they are retired, so never mind. Instead, I will tell you about the lipstick I have on. This color but it is a vibrant pink called Night Fuschia. When you wake up in the morning this color will still be on. Lol! I wore this when I went to Florida and they were like, “you already put on lipstick?” 50 IS NOT OLD | CHECKS, PLAIDS, AND GINGHAMSI have on my summery Reece necklace that I recently got. I added the Lulu cross charm to it for a little added interest. I have opened a new party and that URL is plunderdesign.com/party/tania8 so if you click on a link and it does not tell you that you are shopping in this party, please let me know.50 IS NOT OLD | CHECKS, PLAIDS, AND GINGHAMSI thought that since the necklace had some pink flowers and I had on pink lipstick that I would carry my hot pink leather Vera Bradley tote. I bought this a year or so ago when I went to Florida. This is a nice size tote but it is not even the largest one in this style. This is called the Ella and I think mine is the medium size. They didn’t have it in the store so I had them ship it to me.50 IS NOT OLD | CHECKS, PLAIDS, AND GINGHAMSI forgot to see which pair of bright blue pants I had on. Believe it or not, I have at least three pairs of cobalt blue pants! I think I must have been afraid that they were going to all sell out in the next couple of months because I bought a pair everywhere I went. I have a pair that is stretchy, one that is a chino style, and one that is somewhere in between. Lol!

50 IS NOT OLD | CHECKS, PLAIDS, AND GINGHAMSTuesday was a busy day for me. The Rodan and Fields websites opened back up and I had a lady decide to join me in the business. Then the sites went down again. Lol! This was all planned on their part because all of us consultants had been chomping at the bit to get back to work and we were overloading the system. They were taking some down and letting others work and then they would switch it around. Tomorrow should be a better day when everyone has gotten all their orders inputted. I also had another lady join me on my Plunder journey. I talked to her while getting my hair cut. That is the kind of businesses I like, working while getting your hair done. Lol! If you want to find out more about how you can work a business from the hair salon, message me!

Blue is my favorite color too, all shades of blue. You remind me of spring so pretty and bright . Another great outfit!

  2. Traci Fuller says:

Tania, I’ve sent you several emails about plunder and left one message here on your blog and have never received a response. I’d appreciate it if you would respond to me so I can repeat my questions.

    1. Traci, I am confused. I looked in my emails and I did a name search on the blog but couldn’t find anything from you regarding Plunder. I found two comments from you about an outfit but nothing that asked a question. I am sorry that it got lost in cyberspace. Lol! What was your question?

Tania i am new to your blog and love it! Can you tell me where you purchased the plaid blouse please?

    1. Welcome, Laura. I bought my shirt at the overstock store in town. Most of their items come from QVC.

Love the shirt! Thanks for the lipcolor info too!

  8. Good morning Tania! I bought some cobalt blue capris this past weekend at Steinmart and they are the most comfortable pants I have bought in a long time. Got a lot of compliments on them. I may go back and buy some in other colors. When you find a pair of pants that fit like a dream, you want them in every color!!! Happy Wednesday!

    1. I do that too, Paula. I have had the same shirt in every color before. Lol!

  9. Love the gingham. The Reese necklace is the one I ordered from you and I could not be happier! I wear it a lot because it goes with everything. I WILL send you at least $1 for your fundraiser. Please provide an address. Its the least I can do for you, given all you’ve done for us.

    1. Mary Lou, that is sweet of you, but I was just kidding. The Reece necklace is so feminine. I have worn that and the matching bracelet several times since I bought it. I am glad that you like it!

  10. I love your outfit, brilliant, stiking!

  13. Camille Buchanan says:

Loved the plaid blouse! I look forward to your post of fashion of the day and your witty spin on life! Makes my day. I am going to check out some of the jewelry line you mention too.

    1. Until this blog started I was never called funny or witty. I must only be able to be funny in print and not in real life. ?

  14. Absolutely love this outfit. I love the color, and the style. And I am a Vera Bradley fan too. You knocked this one out of the park!! Fuchsia and Cobalt blue = a great combination. I know exactly how you feel about volunteering or being volunteered, I started as a GFWC helper and was President in 3 years!! They saw me coming.. LOL Good luck with your fundraiser..

    1. Yes, Jeanne, they do tend to get the “number” of those who are workers. They say to look for the busiest person because they are the ones who will get things done. You must be one of those people. Lol!
