50 IS NOT OLD | COLD SHOULDERS AND FRAYED HEMSRight before I started on today’s blog post I was sending out several emails. That got me to thinking about technology and how things have changed so drastically in just the past 30 years. I know that 30 years is a long time but it is amazing the leaps and bounds that have been made. I remember when my workplace first started using the computer and one of my bosses bought a computer for his house. That was unheard of! We couldn’t think of a single thing he could do with a computer at his house. 50 IS NOT OLD | COLD SHOULDERS AND FRAYED HEMSI also remember the first VCR that I ever saw. It took me a long time to grasp the idea that we could watch one show and it would record another show. The part where you didn’t have to even be home to record the show was just mind blowing!!! Do any of you remember the first “portable” cellular phone you had? Those things were HUGE! I remember getting one for my car and I swear is looked like you were carrying a suitcase around. I thought I was so cool! Lol!!!Now, here I sit typing on a laptop using wifi for the internet, sending out emails through the air, and talking on a smartphone that takes pictures, surfs the internet, and also lets you talk to someone. Simply AMAZING!50 IS NOT OLD | COLD SHOULDERS AND FRAYED HEMSYou are going to be so mad at me because I bet I won’t be able to find this shirt anywhere for you. I bought this at a local boutique and she only buys 3 or 4 of each item and never gets that item back in once it is sold. I loved the playful colors on the classic leopard print. This makes this top work so much better for spring and summer. Since it has long sleeves I guess it would mostly be for spring. The day I wore this it was truly a “cold shoulder” look. The weather had dipped back down in the 50’s and Joe thought it was hilarious that I would be cold for fashion. Silly man, of course, I would! Hahaha!

50 IS NOT OLD | COLD SHOULDERS AND FRAYED HEMSThis pair of earrings were one of the first pieces of jewelry that I got from the new spring and summer Plunder line. They are called the Sadie. This color reminds me of colonial houses. I call it Wedgewood blue but Plunder doesn’t call it anything. I thought it would be really cute to take these to someone and let them put my initials on them in vinyl. These are very lightweight even though I think they are made out of metal. With a price tag of 8.00, you can afford to buy one for all the ladies in your network.50 IS NOT OLD | COLD SHOULDERS AND FRAYED HEMSHow cute is this leatherette necklace? I can’t even remember where I picked this up at but the color was perfect for this top. I think this is the first time I have ever worn the necklace but it probably won’t be the last. The small bracelet on the right is called the Broedrick and it is an opaque pink color. I wear this all the time because I like the color and also because it is so easy to get on and off because of the magnetic closure. The larger bracelet has been retired however I will be giving the bracelet and the matching necklace and earrings away on Friday’s post. Be sure to check back to see how to enter to win. I have opened a new party and that URL is plunderdesign.com/party/tania8 so if you click on a link and it does not tell you that you are shopping in this party, please let me know.50 IS NOT OLD | COLD SHOULDERS AND FRAYED HEMSHere is a closeup picture of my dark teal Dooney & Bourke tote. I always have so much stuff in my purse that I keep my purse unzipped to accommodate my things. I knew I loved this purse but I have even surprised myself at how often I carry this purse. I think the leather trim really pops against the blue color.

50 IS NOT OLD | COLD SHOULDERS AND FRAYED HEMSWhat do you think about these jeans? The fringed hem is a big trend this year. I am still on the fence with this look. I have worn these jeans with a huge cuff and the fringe pointing up and that was really cute. I am sure you will see this look later this year on the blog. I thought I would kill two birds with one stone (what a horrible saying) by getting jeans that are distressed and fringed both. Look at me working the trends. Lol!!!

I told you on yesterday’s post that the R+F websites had been down and are now up and running. However, the orders from last month are not showing up for me to see. I have no way of knowing who ordered the Lash Boost special I was running. If you ordered that from me please let me know so that I can get your refund check in the mail to you.

I know you might be getting tired of seeing me tell you about the incentive that R+F is offering this month. Actually, there are two incentives, one is they are offering 40 Free Mini Facials to anyone who signs up with a business kit by Friday. I want to make sure that you don’t miss this date if you are interested at all. That is a 200.00 value and 40 conversation starters. Secondly, everyone who purchases a regimen this month will get a free 3-day sample of the new Hydration Serum. WooHoo!!! Two incentives and I am not the one having to offer them. Lol! Email me if you are interested in learning more at fiftyisnotold@gmail.com. If you want to check out my website go to www.tstephens5.myrandf.biz and hit the Be The CEO of You tab to read more.

I want to thank everyone who has signed up for my emails. I promise you only get one email a day from me and I don’t give out your email addresses, that would just be weird. Lol!  I am only 40 away from that magical 5000 mark, woohoo!  PLEASE take the time to signup!!! Also, if you would like to share my posts on Facebook or Twitter, I would appreciate that. It helps get my blog out to more people, and I am sure you just want to spread the entertaining sayings I have. Lol! The comment section is at the end of the post, so keep scrolling. I look forward to reading all the comments, they make my day.

  1. Hi Tania. Could you snap a picture of the leopard blouse label and email to me. I would like to research it online…thanks so much and keep up the great posts…great job inspiring us “women of a certain age” to look our best.

  2. Tania I love Lipsense, but like you do not like the gloss; it just seems too gooey to me. I know you mentioned a cover girl product in your makeup video. Could you please repeat what the product was? Does it affect the length of time the Lipsense lasts? Thanks so much for your blog. You look GREAT!!

    1. Lori, I couldn’t tell any difference in how long it lasted. I just use the lip moisturizer in the white tube that comes in a pack with the CoverGirl lip stain. You can buy that product separately.

      1. Thanks Tania!!! Will go today to look.

  3. I like the shirt and the jewelry, I am just having a problem with the jeans, can’t get into the distressed look. I do like the fringe though. Btw, Plunder has a spray for the jewelry, is it needed and what are you cleaning it with??
    Thanks in advance.

    1. Thanks, Jeanne, for remembering about the spray. I have never ordered that and have never had any trouble with mine.

      1. Do you clean yours, or just wipe them with jewelry cloth??

        1. Truthfully, neither. I am hard on my jewelry. I don’t take care of it at all. I know that is terrible, but honest.

      2. Thanks for being up front, I was just wondering. You keep the so protected though in all your “jewelry boxes”, LOL Tks again.

  4. The outfit looks cute and fresh!

  6. Charlcy Green says:

Oh my gosh!! I just adore this whole outfit in you and I want it all! I love how you wear everything that’s in style and look so young! Have a blessed day, beautiful friend!

    1. Charcly, how is retirement treating you? I can put you to work, all you have to do is say the word. Lol!

  7. Love, Love, Love this look on you! You look FABULOUS!!!

  8. Susan Stancliff says:

This is my favorite look so far this week! I too am obsessed with cold shoulders. And I love the jeans. This look is definitely me!

    1. The look has really grown on me. At first, I wasn’t a fan. You have to keep an open mind and try new things.

  9. I love that the new trend is frayed bottom jeans!! Who would have known that something I’ve been doing out of necessity would become a trend?!
I have about 5 pairs of skinny jeans that were miles too long for me, so to wear them inside my
boots without having huge bulky cuffs, I cut them all off ankle length! Now I’ll be in style in the spring and summer too, Love the cold shoulder top on you!

  10. This might be one of my favorite looks since starting to follow you a few months ago! I love the colors in this top, and as someone who also has blue eyes, blue is a flattering color on me typically. The jewelry is perfect also. I too shop at a local boutique, I wish they would get in something similar to this top! Love love love this whole look.

  11. That certainly is a very good color for you! So stylish and youthful looking!

  12. Beth Keehne says:

That top is adorable! I just recently picked up a pair of jeans with the fringed hem, they were boot cut however. I really liked them, will look for a more streamlined leg silhouette I think for the next pair. While I am guilty of taking advantage of all the new fangled technology, I do miss the simpler times and wish that young children weren’t so addicted to this stuff. Makes me sad to see a roomful of teenagers all looking down at their phones and tablets 🙁

  13. I guess I am the only one that will say, this look is not for me. Way to busy and loud. I love color and most of your fashion ideas, keep up the great posts.

  14. robjodiefilogomo says:

I definitely like the frayed hem better than the distressed part of the jeans. Besides they are very functional—if I need to shorten my jeans, all I have to do is use scissors!! Yippee
Although I haven’t gottne my mom (the 70’s model on my blog) or my stepmom (the 60’s model) to try them yet—give me time!! 🙂

  15. So what is the brand of your top? Your boutique could do really well if they would order extra for shipping to your fans who like your clothes. Great Marketing!…………I am a manufacturer Rep so understand the possibilities!!!!!

  16. Love the shirt — and the styling — but — when are we going to see the hair tutorial????

  17. Adorable!!! I just created some frayed hem jeans. Fantastic look!

  18. Ok, I love everything about this outfit! I am obsessed with cold shoulder tops and of course, animal print is my signature color! HaHa!!! The jeans area adorable too! Blue is definitely your color! Happy Thursday!

  19. Vanessa Lindsay says:

What brand jeans do you actually have on in this photo?
    Love the look!

  20. Beautiful Tania!!! You find the prettiest items at your local boutique. Your hair looks really good. Are you letting it grow out?….looking forward to your hair tutorial. ~Lisa~

  21. Teri Getler Matthews says:

Love…love that blouse, going on a mission to find one! Lol ?

  22. Wow! I love the blouse and the earrings are fabulous! But Wedgewood? I think about plates with Wedgewood!???

  23. I, for one, am fond of the frayed hem look and you’ve done a great job of styling the trend. The whole look is fabulous and you look fantastic. Thanks for the inspirations.
