50 IS NOT OLD | CUTE AND FLIRTY FOR SUMMERBoy oh boy, am I glad that it is finally Friday. We are in the process of making some changes at work and the learning curve associated with the changes is going to be a bear. I just kept thinking today something along the lines of an old dog and new tricks. I really do try to have an open mind and not be stuck in my ways because I hate it when someone says, “but we have always done it this way.”50 IS NOT OLD | CUTE AND FLIRTY FOR SUMMERWhy is it hard for older people to change? Do we just get so comfortable that we refuse to learn something new? My brain still works just fine but it wants to dig in its heels and stay in its comfort zone. That sweet spot where it knows how to do something and where to find everything. I normally like a challenge and I don’t mind spending days trying to learn something new associated with the blog, but the idea of making changes at work just seems like “WORK!” I came home Thursday afternoon so tied up in knots that I told Joe we needed to just go for a ride with the windows down so that I could unwind. Then I laid down and took an hour nap. Lol! My way of handling stress. Hahaha
50 IS NOT OLD | CUTE AND FLIRTY FOR SUMMER I am on a melon kick it would seem. I do this a lot, I will go through a period of time where I will wear the same colors over and over. I do that when I go shopping too and I will buy everything in the same color family. For a time earlier this year it was purple and now it seems to be melon or coral. Lol! I bought the cardigan last year and it is from Old Navy. You can see just in this picture that melon would look great with white, gray, and yellow. If you look closely you can even seem hints of purple on the top. I love bringing out even the smallest colors in a top. I will use accessories, a cardigan, or shoes to highlight that color. I rarely button any of the buttons on a cardigan instead I just let it hang open to frame the top that I have on.

50 IS NOT OLD | CUTE AND FLIRTY FOR SUMMER Gold, gold, and more gold. That was the jewelry choices for the day. These statement earrings are so light. For such a large noticeable earring, these are lightweight and almost dainty. The earrings are called the Bowie. The shorter necklace is 22″ and it is tiny little gold squares. The Keri necklace was one of the first choices I made when the new catalog came out. It is a double strand of these tiny little squares. This necklace would be good for those who like a daintier style necklace. The longer necklace is the Destiny. It has a large monogram pendant with a pearl accent. The bracelet is the Selma. It is hard to see in this picture but if you click on the link you can see a better picture. I have opened a new party so make sure that you are shopping under tania11. 50 IS NOT OLD | CUTE AND FLIRTY FOR SUMMER I haven’t carried this Aimee Kestenberg purse in a while. It is a wonderful deep shade of gray and has bright gold accents. I normally am not a small purse kind of gurl but I do like this satchel. I can’t get “all” of my things in this purse but I can get most on my essentials in it.

50 IS NOT OLD | CUTE AND FLIRTY FOR SUMMER These dark gray chino ankle pants are by GAP. I have had this pair forever it seems but I don’t wear them often. I am not normally a fan of this pair of pants but I think they look awesome with these shoes. That is right, I am patting myself on my back today. Lol!

50 IS NOT OLD | CUTE AND FLIRTY FOR SUMMER The studded flats are by Sole Socity. I have never really liked this pair of shoes, they just look “off” to me. This is really the first time that I have worn this pair that I liked the results.

50 IS NOT OLD | CUTE AND FLIRTY FOR SUMMERI LOVE this top!!! It is by Umgee and they hit a home run with this one. It is just so feminine! You can’t see because I have on the cardigan but it has spaghetti straps. I love the flirty little ruffle at the hem and I like how the hemline is curved too. All that helps to create a cute silhouette.

50 IS NOT OLD | CUTE AND FLIRTY FOR SUMMERI was talking to someone today and they asked me about Rodan and Fields. They said something like, “it is only 20 something stay at home moms who are selling this stuff.” I almost didn’t contain myself. WHAT!!! Did you know that Michael Waltrip is a R+F consultant? Did you know that Brittany Spears mom is a R+F consultant? Did you know that there are country music singers, wife of a Major League Hall of Fame Baseball Player, wall street traders, doctors, lawyers, teachers, nurses, pharmacists, cpa’s, students, and all kinds of retirees that are consultants??? There is a VERY good reason that these people are all on the R+F train and that is because it is going places. I can already hear what you are saying. “I don’t know anybody, I am not a salesman, I am not very computer savvy, blah, blah, blah.” LOL! The truth of the matter is that the only thing keeping you from starting your own business in YOU! If you want to know more about R+F and the business then you need to join me Sunday night at 8:00 pm EST for about 30 minutes. I will show you what the company can do for you, even if that is only how to get the best discounts for just yourself. Download a free app called ZOOM and hit the Join A Meeting button. Type in 736 578 7052 and just for joining me I will send you a FREE microdermabrasion paste packet.

Really cute outfit! Love the cardigan!

  2. I love this outfit! The colors in the top are beautiful! I’m a cardigan girl too and love the melon cardigan with the top. Your style is classy and sassy and I love it!

Change has always been hard for me! Usually, it’s the fear of THINKING I can’t do it. I have learned I can do so much more than I give myself credit for.

    1. I agree, Linda! It is the dread worse than the actual action.

  3. Whole outfit is so pretty. Love your look

  4. I love these kind of tops, but was disappointed to see that Umgee requires you to be a licensed vendor to even browse their items. There is a cute boutique near me though, and this looks like the type of thing they would carry, so I might pop in there this weekend and see if they have anything similar! I think you have the Old Navy cardigans in every color, lol! Another good place for this type of cardigan is NY&Co, I have several from there, they put them on good sale every so often. Good luck at work!

You can also find Umgee at Amazon

      1. That is where I found some of the links I did. Amazon has almost EVERYTHING!

    2. There are a few places like Amazon and Shoptiques that sell Umgee, look there. I also like NY%Co, they are not close to me though.

  5. Your top is so sweet and looks great with the melon cardigan. I can see this looking amazing with white or dark denim.

Now about the purse…..you should do a “what’s in my purse” blog. I can’t imagine what you all carry around if this one is not quite large enough. Lol!

I felt that way about change with dentistry right before I retired….yet starting the blog and learning that was fun!! So that’s a great question. I do think it’s a comfort thing. Just like some women won’t change how they dress??

Not sure why you’re not of fan of pants. I love them. They are a snug fit but not painted on. This might be my favorite outfit of the week. I LOVE this color palette. I need to check out your jewelry. Have a great weekend. Anita

  8. Pretty!
Your words about change touched me very deeply. I am fighting a type of change too and have prayed hard for guidance. God is good…all the time!

  9. Cute! Love that color! Hang in there, our brains are lazy and they resist “exercise”, so keep at it and your brain will be happier later for the “workout”!

  10. I like the color of the cardigan! Cardigans can add so much to an outfit! Hope you can join my Fancy Friday linkup!
