A DAY IN NEW ORLEANS
Our first stop this morning was to Mother’s. We had no idea that Mother’s was a “must” on the destination scene, it was just across the street from where we were staying. Joe asked the lady taking the order for her recommendation and that ended up being a crawfish omelet and cheese grits.
Next, the walking started. It was funny because the lady gave us directions to Bourbon Street and by the time we had walked out of the restaurant neither one of us had a clue what she said. I took out my phone and said, “Siri, directions to Bourbon Street.” Before Siri could even start talking this lady who was taking a smoke break started telling me how to get there. I went back and talked to her for a few minutes and called her Siri. Lol! She had no idea what I was talking about. Joe just cracked up.
Next on our stop was Bourbon Street. Not a great picture of either of us but it was hard to get the sign in the background. There were all kinds of neat little shops up and down the street and of course, there were the Hustler and the Girls, Girls, Girls shops also. Hahaha
Because we were tired we decided to give Antwan and his pedicab a try. He was a lot of fun to talk to and Joe said he liked that much better. He couldn’t talk to a horse. Antwan then took us to Cafe Du Monde for their famous beignets and coffee with chicory.

I had no idea what this was or where we were at but I thought this was gorgeous. Turns out is was the Saint Louis Cathedral, the oldest Cathedral in North America, founded as a Catholic Parish in 1720 along the Banks of the Mississippi River in New Orleans. About this time the sugar was kicking in and Joe was starting to get cranky and ill. After a few minutes, I told him I was going to take his picture so he turned around to pose. However, this is what I took a picture of…..
I told him that was what he was acting like. Lol! Mind you I was out of reach when I showed him the picture. Hahaha
Tomorrow we are going to go to the trade show because the weather is not going to be as pretty, but I am sure you will still get to hear all about my adventures.

Y’all are just too cute! I’ll pin this in case my hubby ever decides to take us there for a little road trip. Those beignets look delicious and that cathedral is just beautiful.
I’m sitting here cracking up reading your post. Poor Joe. Enjoy your trip.
There is a great Ghost Walk that starts very close to the cathedral! It’s not just “ghostly” but lots of great NOLA history! We really enjoyed it:) Comfy shoes recommended.
We are headed to NOLA next week! We love that place! Can’t wait for the parades… Have fun and safe travels.
Y’all are too adorable for words!!!!!!! I’m SO-O-O-O jealous of Cafe du Monde!!! Love that place. And so many good places to eat all over the Quarter. Have fun!
Hi Tania,
I tried the link for plunder but it didn’t work. I want to place an order but how do I do it to through you?
Beignets are fantastic, I’m so envious.
Hey, Julie. You are right the beignets were fantastic! I am a sugarholic so they were perfect for me. It is possible that I mistyped my Plunder link. Let’s try this again. I opened a new party so go to http://plunderdesign.com/Party/tania1/ to place the order
Oh how I love hearing about & seeing your adventures! You guys crack me up! Your relationship is SO RICH! And what a hot looking couple you are in your sunny pics! I love the one w/the camera over your eyes! Didn’t you just love those beignets? The Chickory, however, is for the birds as far as I’m concerned! Have a blast!
Great pics of a great time…Thanks for sharing!
