DRESSING FROM YOUR CLOSET
I feel like Dorthy in the Wizard of Oz. Here was a sweet little country girl who was used to the way things worked. A place where things moved at a slow pace and everybody knew each other. Then she was thrown into a land very unfamiliar with lots of strange and wonderful things going on. It was probably stimulating at first and then the “there’s no place like home” feeling starts to set in.
That is how I am feeling here in Atlanta. Beleive me, this is nothing like being in Grundy. Lol!!! If you want to go 10 miles down the road to a store then you better plan on it taking you about 30 minutes. Driving in bumper to bumper to bumper traffic is stressful and don’t even get me started on trying to pull out into the traffic. In Grundy you never have traffic, but occasionally there will be construction or something like that and traffic will back up. You never have to fret because someone will stop and let you pull out in front of them. Today, I ventured out for my first trip to IKEA. WOW! Holy moly that place has everything. I sure did love roaming through all of the displays even though I only bought one little grill pan. But, the trip back home was a nightmare. It was getting close to 5:00 pm and you know that is not a good thing. Between the traffic and the part where we hadn’t had anything to eat, I thought my brother-in-law was going to lose it. Can you say ‘Hangry?” ?
There is nothing special about today’s look and it is all from things in my closet. This look was a trial and error look. What I mean is that I started with the plain white t-shirt and then I added the pants. But, I didn’t like the look so I kept adding things until I was finally satisfied. When you are looking for a t-shirt, especially a white one, you want to put your hand under the material and see if you can see through it. It is better to pay a little more for a nice thick white one than to have to worry about being able to see through it.

Cute outfit! Trying to “shop” my closet more. I live 50 miles north of Atlanta. We are looking to leave the area now that I “very early retired”. Lots of fun things to do here but you cannot get to them for the traffic! Safe travels!
Lol! Yes Atlanta traffic is a pain but after driving here, you can drive anywhere. I live a bout 30 min N of Marietta in an and Ikea is always a fun destination. Btw if u are still down here you need to stop by the French bakery in Marietta douceur de france! Yum!!
I probably won’t be back until the first of November when I come back for a vintage fashion show that is held in Winnwood Retirement in Marietta, but I will be sure to try the bakery out then.
I agree with Charley’s ??. That cardigan color looks fab on you! Nice outfit??
Just started following you… so nice to see fashion with everyday options! Thanks for being you… btw love ikea !! My daughter live south of Atlanta and we trip there about once a year… it’s an experience, both the store and the traffic!!!
I believe in buying some good staples and then supplementing with cost-efficient options. Thanks so much for following and taking the time to leave a comment.
I absolutely love you in this outfit!! It truly brings out your eyes and is so flattering to your hair! I wish I had the whole thing, including that adorable purse. Beautiful jewelry!
Wait, you went to IKEA and didn’t eat?! I’m Swedish and can attest: the Swedish meatballs are authentic! Ask for extra lingonberries — you’re supposed to have some of those with every bite! Next time ?
I know! Can you believe I showed such discipline? Now if I would only do some exercises as well.
As always you look super cool and well put together. Would love to have an adventure looking through your closet lol
I like it that you’re back on the porch! Maybe it’s the lighting…shows the outfits more clearly, plus the lighting is very flattering to your cutie pie face! Rock on, girlie!
Awww, thanks, Marie. The lighting on my porch is perfect for some reason. I would love to be able to duplicate it in the house also.
I like the outfit – very casual and comfy looking. The handbag is so cute!!
I know what you mean! I also come from a very small town in upstate NewYork. A two lane highway takes me to work in 15 minutes-no traffic. I recently visited my dad in Florida and the traffic was ridiculous??!! I swear those traffic lights are three minutes long!!??
Carol, it is a real eye-opener. There is a give and take no matter where you live.
Hi Carol, I am also from a small upstate town where it only takes me 5 minutes to get to work. However,I moved to the NYC area just months out of high school….now that was quite eye opening!! Happily I’m back in my sleepy little town
Tania, love this outfit!!
love shopping from my closet! cute purse too.
I love this whole outfit and would love to duplicate it !!! The mesh cardigan is perfect for going into Fall because sometimes you just need a light cover-up.
I love a cardigan for all seasons. I love the way they look and I think they bring something extra to an outfit.
That is a nice run around town outfit. And if I ever find those shoes I’ll be a happy woman. They are my favorite. I learned few years ago Atlanta is no place to be during rush hour. And we were only driving through trying to get to Florida.
I try to stay away from downtown if I can but the lure of IKEA dragged me in.
Cute outfit as always!! Love the handbag!! I took a refreshing dip into my Active Hydration Body Replenish jar this morning to give my body a drink of water and it is AMAZING!!!
You are killing me, Susanne!!! I want to try the body replenish so bad but it is in Grundy and I am in Georgia. ?
