DRESSING TO BE COOL, COMFORTABLE, AND CASUAL
It has been stifling hot this past week and even the humidity was out of control. When it gets this hot and sticky the last thing that I want to do is put on pants. Wearing a dress is the best solution, it is even better than wearing shorts.
I recently received this 100% cotton dress, courtesy of Purple Poppy, and I wore it the other day when we were taking the grandchildren to have their pictures taken. I wanted something that would be cool and comfortable but I still wanted to look good. There is no reason that you shouldn’t have clothing that can be all of these things. 
The dress is by Madison Matthews and is a pretty blue with a white stripe. However, the beautiful white embroidery is what makes this dress stand out. The embroidery is nice and thick and it just feels like quality. I wish that you could feel this embroidery to see what I am talking about. In this picture, it looks like a print on the dress but it is not.
I liked that the dress isn’t snug but it is still flattering. I am wearing a size large but I honestly think that I could have sized down and gotten the medium instead. It is hand wash so it shouldn’t shrink. The length is also perfect especially if you were like me and running around trying to keep up with some wild grandchildren. Lol!
Joe loved this look and just kept giving me compliments and I really think that you will like it also. Purple Poppy is one of my favorite stores because her clothing is great for any age group. Love the dress, love the blog..my first visit! Tried to order the dress all day and kept getting a processing error . Called the number on the Purple Poppy site and it’s voice mailbox is full and not accepting any messages…something tells me that this dress is not meant to grace my closet. So disappointed!
Margaret, that is horrible. But, don’t let that discourage you. This dress is super cute so just try again tomorrow. Be like Annie, Tomorrow, tomorrow is only a day away! Lol!

I would guess a medium, Sue. I am the same height as you and a little heavier so I think the medium will work out perfect for you.

Cute dress and I SO agree that they are cooler and more comfortable then shorts or capris. I love wearing this type of dress when I meet up with my friends for a girls day out. I do find them a little harder to wear when around the grandkids since I’m bending over and on the floor quite a bit.

So right about dresses. Just started wearing them again after years of not. Wore one to my nephews outdoor wedding two weeks ago. I don’t think anything could have helped in 96 degree PA. weather. Lol. This past Sat. I went to a niece’s wedding again an outdoor wedding. But wore capris.. Not as comfy!! Dress,tee and capris all Isaac M. It’s too hot for me. I love this dress in today’s blog. You can’t go wrong with cotton. Cute as can be grandchildren.
A dress is so much more comfortable when it is hot. Nothing is sticking and clinging to you and it just feels cooler.
