50 IS NOT OLD | FEMININE AND ROMANTIC PRINTWhat do you talk about when you have nothing to talk about? I could just show you my pictures and tell you about the outfit but where would the fun be in that? Lol! I guess I will just tell you a short story about my father. Sunday was his birthday so I have been thinking about a lot of the things we use to do when I was a child. I have wonderful memories of growing up but recalling then can sometimes be a challenge. Lol!
50 IS NOT OLD | FEMININE AND ROMANTIC PRINTI have already told you the story of having a pet skunk. I have already told you the story of how daddy took us to the lake almost every weekend and taught us to ski. (Here)  I even have already told you about how he almost went to jail over fireworks on the fourth of July. However, I don’t think that I have ever told you about how we had a volleyball court in our front yard. Every weekend we did something as a family. We went to the lake, we went dirt bike riding in the mountains, we visited my grandparents, or we had a yard full of people playing volleyball. They would pick a team captain and then start to divide up to play. If there wasn’t enough of the men to play then they would start letting some of the others play. The wives were smart enough to say they had work to do and that they should just let us kids play. The men would get very competitive so you learned really quickly that just because a ball was coming right at you didn’t mean they you were supposed to actually hit it. In other words, if a ball stated coming your way you were supposed to move and let one of the men actually do the hitting. It could be right comical because if you tried to hit the ball then you would get in the way of one of the men and if you moved and didn’t try to hit the ball then you might get yelled at for not even trying. Hahaha! I will say this, daddy sure played great and I always wanted to be on his team, but I didn’t want to stand beside of him. Lol! 50 IS NOT OLD | FEMININE AND ROMANTIC PRINT I bought this top when I was in Alaska. I love the soft muted colors of the top, they just seemed romantic to me. I think it is the pale peach background instead of a white background which would have been stark. Also, the print is small which leads to the romantic feel. This top is by Bobeau and I bought it to wear with this soft cardigan (here) that I wore when I was in Alaska. The cardigan was a good idea in Alaska but not right now here in Virginia. It is waaaaay too hot to wear the cardigan right now so I just wore the shirt alone. I really liked the tiny detailed seaming right down the front of the top. It is a subtle detail but very pretty.

50 IS NOT OLD | FEMININE AND ROMANTIC PRINT I decided to wear jewelry to pick up on the muted blue of the top. The earrings I have on are called the Navy Rhombus. I think these are a tad brighter than what I normally call navy. They are about a 2.5″ drop, lightweight, and only 8.00. The Ritta bracelet is denim and rhinestones. That just happens to be a favorite combination of mine. Lol! It has a magnetic closure so it is very easy to put on. The Markle necklace is one that will go with almost anything. It is simple but it still has a lot of style. I love how it lays on your neckline and just fills the void in a v-neck top.  50 IS NOT OLD | FEMININE AND ROMANTIC PRINT The peach ankle pants are pixie pants by Old Navy. Pixie pants are snug fitting and they hold their shape throughout the day. I hate when I sit down and have knee bulges when you stand back up. And the best thing is that this color is now on sale. I think the color of this Dooney & Bourke purse matches my top almost exactly. It is hard to believe when I bought this purse that I was afraid I would have anything to wear with it and instead, I carry it a lot. If you only have black, brown, or navy purses in your closet then you need to branch out a little. Live on the wild side and buy something colorful.

50 IS NOT OLD | FEMININE AND ROMANTIC PRINTIn the summer months, I will live in sandals. I love just being able to slip on a pair and go. I have had these t-strap navy sandals by Tommy Hilfiger for a year or more and I wear them with shorts, pants, and dresses. If you are on a limited budget or if you have limited space for clothing and shoes then you want to pick out versatile pieces. A nice pair of dress sandals would be a good investment.

50 IS NOT OLD | FEMININE AND ROMANTIC PRINTThis is the last week in July so be sure to take advantage of my Christmas in July special. I am tickled to say that I have had 6 new consultants join my team. Does every one of them want to work the business? NO! That doesn’t matter, every one of them will now be able to buy their products at cost. I didn’t intend to work the business either and look what happened to me. Lol! You know when you put a post on FaceBook you wait to see if you will get any “likes” or “hearts?” That is how I feel about my blog. Leaving a comment and pinning a picture to Pinterest is my equivalent to a “like.” If you share my post on FaceBook that is a “heart.” Show me some love, gurls!!!

  1. Love the story about your dad and volleyball! I come from a family where volleyball is a blood sport. I learned a long time ago not to play!

  2. Jeanne Epley says:

Great outfit, the blue really pops on this outfit with earrings and bracelet.Love the peach, great colors, would probably wear now that I see it on someone and not just the rack. 😉
Glad you shared your time with your dad, mine has been gone for a long time, but you did bring back some good memories. Have a great day!

  3. Another cute outfit Tania! I have sort of a weird question: since you wear so many colors (and do it well, by the way) what color nail polish do you wear? Especially in the summer with sandals, there’s another color to coordinate with outfits – Seems I always want to wear red sandals when I have peach colored toes! I just can’t do white, doesn’t look right on me.

  4. I love wearing sandals in the summer too—I try to take advantage of it every chance I get. I’m still working on my mom though (the 70+ model on my blog). She considered herself so pale, that she always is trying to cover up…and her skin is beautiful, I think!!
    XOXO

  5. Love this outfit! The color looks great on you, and I like the combination with the blue as a contrast color in the accessories.

  6. Super pretty top Tania – looks like you picked up quite a few fun pieces in Alaska!!!

Have you seen my post about the Rebel inside us? It shows an outfit I put together for fun – no matter how old we are we should still simply dress for fun sometimes 😉 http://funkyforty.com/the-rebel-inside-us/

    LOL Yvonne

  7. Happy Birthday to your dad!! Thank you for sharing your fond memories with your daddy…our daddy’s are special!! It’s hard to believe my dad has been gone for 14 years already ..I sure miss him.
Congrats to you and your new consultants..that is great Tania!! You look beautiful as always!!

  8. I love to see your outfits. You have given me great ideas this Spring and Summer, helped me step up my style…and encouraged me to start my own blog! Currently, going through the planning and learning phase…but I am excited! ?

  9. Love the outfit! The top is so feminine and it looks great on you! What color cardigan did you wear with it in Alaska?
