50 IS NOT OLD | GINGHAM CHECKDon’t you just hate it when you get woke up in the middle of the night and you can’t get back to sleep? I’ll either get something on my mind or I lay there wondering what time it is. The clock is on Joe’s side of the bed so I can’t see the time so I try gauging the time by the amount of light shining in through the curtains. I am usually pretty good about figuring out it I should get up or try to go back to bed, but not this morning.50 IS NOT OLD | GINGHAM CHECKThis morning Joe got up out of bed and I heard him close our bedroom door. He closes the door so that the dogs won’t come in and aggravate me to get up and feed them. I laid there for a while just tossing and turning and trying to figure out what time it was. Finally, I gave up and got up and went to the bathroom to get my bathrobe and house shoes (it is cold in the mornings) and just as I got to the door I heard Joe coming back down the hall. He said he was going back to bed, it wasn’t even 5:00 a.m. yet. WHAT??? He is the one who woke me up and now he is going back to bed, it just wasn’t fair because I was wide awake. Well, guess what? It is only 6:00 p.m. and I can hardly hold my eyes open. Lol! Guess who will be going to bed early? Haha50 IS NOT OLD | GINGHAM CHECKI am wearing one of my favorite shirts today. I have had this button-up gingham checked shirt for a couple of years and it still looks brand new. The shirt has a label Jones of New York inside the collar, but I have seen many stores carry this same style.

50 IS NOT OLD | GINGHAM CHECKMy bright blue tote is the perfect color to match this top. It is just a shade of two darker which helps it to stand out. This was a fairly cheap tote that I picked up at Old Navy I think, it is sometimes hard for me to remember where I get things. Because of the bright color, I didn’t know if I would carry the purse a lot so I didn’t want to invest a huge amount of money. All of the totes that I have linked to are reversible, mine is not, and that really gets you more bang for your buck.

50 IS NOT OLD | GINGHAM CHECK My daughter started a new job in Alaska and she has to wear a badge on a lanyard. I think some of the other ladies in her office might have made fun of her for not having a “cute” lanyard, so I bought her this one. It is the Noah and since I didn’t have a badge, I added the Jody “T” pendant. She also requested a few charms to add to her lanyard (don’t make fun of my daughter), the Nannette and the Margo. In case you were wondering, charms are found under the menu tab and choose add-ons. I am anxious to see the Margo, it has always appealed to me.50 IS NOT OLD | GINGHAM CHECKI really need to work on my “take a picture of my earrings” pose. I think I am showing you my earrings but you would not believe how many of these type pictures I delete. Lol! Either you get a horrible picture of my hair, my hand is blocking the picture, or the earring is nowhere to be seen. These are a simple antique silver knot design and they are pretty large. They are called the Bonnie and the antique gold counterpart is called Lelia.50 IS NOT OLD | GINGHAM CHECKThese jeans are from Old Navy and when I ordered them I ordered a tall. You can see there is a large cuff because of them being so long. This pair has a very small amount of distressing, so these might be the way for some of you to go that do not like a large amount of distressing or holes in their jeans.

50 IS NOT OLD | GINGHAM CHECKAs you can see my yellow cardigan is a little on the thin side. It has not been very cold here yet, so I grabbed this for some added color, but not the added warmth. I like the sunny color, but I think I will just set this back in the closet till it gets spring. This is not a winter cardigan. Lol! I bought this at the overstock store in town and it doesn’t have a label inside, so your guess is as good as mine. Here is a couple that I do like for the upcoming winter months.

50 IS NOT OLD | GINGHAM CHECKWell, Joe made up for waking me up this morning by coming home and starting me a fire. I love a fire in the fireplace but the wood we bought does not burn very good till it is really, really hot. So I came home to him with a propane torch (flame thrower) in my house starting me a fire. Lol! I couldn’t help but do a small video and put it on Facebook. Only my husband. Hahaha

In the spirit of Christmas, I am extending my Rodan and Fields offer for 10% off all orders over 80.00 PLUS I am adding an extra little ? just for you. Everyone will receive something different but I promise you will love it. Lol!

  1. Thanks for the tips on styling a bold checked shirt. Mine came from Appleseeds, a couple of shades darker blue. They have it in a fig/orange check that looks really sophisticated.

  2. What about the boots? I love the boots! Are they still available somewhere?

    1. I bought the boots several years ago. I think they are Isaac Mizrahi. If they aren’t I’ll reply what they are after I go look. Lol!

I love gingham with a vest. Great colors. I also had the clock problem so I bought another clock for my side of the bed.
