GOOD VIBES FOR A BLUE MONDAY
Well, I had good intentions when I said that I would take down my Christmas Tree on Saturday. Let’s say that the tree is still where it was last week, but I did get many other things done around the house, so I’m okay with the tree staying up for another week or two. My daughter will be here in a couple of weeks, so I might leave it for her to deal with. Lol!
My daughter is natured like Joe, so I need lots of prayers to survive living with them both. She is a take-charge kind of girl, so I hope she can streamline my work time and get me organized. Everything that Joe or I need to do, we say, “just wait until Ashleigh gets here; she’ll fix that.” So far, trimming Lucy Lu’s nails, taking my tree down, packing up my things in Grundy, and training Lucy to quit barking every time Joe walks near me are just some of the jobs I have for her.
My mother laughs every time I tell her that I have a job for Ashleigh. She tells me that I think I’m hiring an employee, but I’m really hiring a BOSS instead. The truth is, mom is probably correct in that statement. Y’all, I’m not kidding about needing those prayers. Hahaha!
You might have figured out that it is a blue Monday because of the colors I’m wearing instead of a blah day. I love these beautiful springtime colors, and they sure make my day seem brighter. I’ve been wearing a lot of sweater sets as my loungewear this winter. Each day I put on a sweater or fuzzy loungewear set; they all look the same but are in different colors.
When I saw this gorgeous springtime-looking outfit, I knew that it was coming home with me. I’ve started to grow bored with my sweater sets, and they are too heavy for the spring weather ahead, so this outfit seemed like a great choice.
This entire set is incredibly soft and cozy. It is not thick and heavy, so it isn’t a wintertime outfit. Instead, this sky blue set is lightweight and perfect for spring and summer weather that will be here before you know it. It seems strange to be talking about spring weather in January, but Groundhog’s Day is just around the corner, and I have my fingers crossed that it will be an early spring.
The funnel neck gives this striped pullover top a unique look, and I actually like this style. I think the drawstrings add to the casual look, and it goes with the vibe I want. I’m wearing a large, and I like the slightly oversized and relaxed look and feel.
Here is a look from the back to give you an idea of the length of the top. If you wanted to wear it right now, you could add a thicker cardigan, vest, or denim jacket to this top. Here are some suggestions that would look great.
The lower half of my soft and cozy outfit is a matching pair of marled jogger sweatpants. These lightweight sweatpants are soooo soft you’ll forget that you’re wearing them. Lol! They are probably the softest sweatpants I’ve tried, and I can only hope they stay as soft after washing them. These pants have great reviews, and everyone is saying the same thing, “the softest pants I’ve ever bought.” I’m wearing a large and they are a great fit, not too baggy and not too tight.
Here is a better look at the funnel neck and my Easton geometric hoop earrings. Also, since I get asked a lot, the color of my lip stain is Soft Rose. This is my favorite lipstick/stain, and I have almost every shade in this brand.
Who needs some Good Vibes? I originally bought this sweatshirt to wear with the comfy joggers above, but it is too cute only to wear one way. So, I styled it with a pair of casual, distressed jeans to give you an idea for wearing the top out and about town.
This Good Vibes sweatshirt is a nice weight, and it is plenty warm for my winter weather. The raised sherpa-looking letters are cute and draw your attention. I like having an upbeat message on my shirt, and this is a cute one to wear. I’m wearing a large, and it fits great. I wanted it to fit a little loose, so I could also wear a button-up shirt under it if I wanted.
Here is the look at the sweatshirt from the back. It is a good length and hits right at my hips.
I think these straight-leg vintage-style jeans are super cute. You know that I love distressed jeans, and as soon as I saw these, I put them in my cart. I love the worn-in wash that is between a medium and a light wash. The distressing is not huge gaping holes, but they look like holes that would come with age.
There is a slight problem with these jeans, though. Lol! They are huge on me, so they are going back, but I already have another size on order. I feel like these fit like boyfriend jeans, meaning they are loose and baggy through the hips and thighs. Usually, I size down a size for boyfriend jeans, but I didn’t read that part in the description. I ordered a size 30, and that is definitely the wrong size. I have a 28 on order, and I’m crossing my fingers that it is the correct size.
I am wearing my Brooks GTS 21 sneakers with both outfits. Since I had a minor flare-up with Plantar Fascitis, I like wearing them all day long. I took my friend’s advice and sized up a half size to a 9 1/2, and they fit me great. Most days, these have become my shoe of choice since I am still trying to baby my Plantar Fascitis.

Love your outfit. Casual and comfortable at the same time. We at Bonbop appreciate this kind of style.!
I love the funnel neck top. When I read some of the comments it sounded like it was a little see through. What did you think?
You are looking amazing. How much weight have you lost?
I was procrastinating taking my decorations down as well when I saw a few of my Episcopalian friends post about waiting until after epiphany. Not being a member of a church that recognizes that celebration, I googled it. While the US day has passed, I found that SOME cultures celebrate epiphany until Ash Wednesday. Girl, you have until MARCH to get that tree down!
I’ll have to tell Joe that, he won’t be pleased. Lol!
Don’t fret over the tree! Mine is not exactly up, but not down, either. Here’s why. We are moving and my artificial tree I use in my 7’ ceiling house would look stupid in my new home with a vaulted ceiling. So I asked my daughter’s friends if they’d like it. One said yes please take a picture. So I hauled it out put it together plugged it in a took a picture. She never showed up. And worse yet my hubby got rid of its box. So here it sits naked as a jay bird. You are not the only one LOL with a tree. At least I don’t have to pull off the ornaments.
I understand what you mean. That’s why I bought a new tree this year. I don’t have vaulted ceilings, but I have 10 ft. ceilings instead of 8ft.
I need an Ashleigh to organize me! 🙂
You are blessed to have a daughter like that!
Love the sweatshirt!
Let’s hope she can whip me into shape.
You look wonderful in blue!!!
The “blues” look very pretty on you. When I have had outfits like that in a pastel color, I feel like they are too much like pajamas or loungewear, so I won’t wear something like that out, but inside for springtime yes!
Nancy, the sweatshirt would be something I would wear out, but I wouldn’t wear the joggers out since I think they are too thin.
Love the longer hair; it looks more casual.
