HALLOWEEN ACCESSORIES
Do you ever have one of those nights when you just can’t sleep? My problem is that I keep thinking about what I have to do the next day and making lists in my mind. I am not sure what good it does me to wake up and think about it. It is not like I am going to get up and go to work at 2:30 in the morning. I have heard that it is a good idea to keep a notepad beside your bed and that you should jot down ideas, etc. that you have in the middle of the night.
I am pretty sure that Joe would not be a fan of me turning on the light and writing something down on a pad at 2:30 in the morning. Lol!!! It was funny today, Joe went downtown and was doing his normal riding around and talking to people when this one person said to him, “So, I hear that you and your mother-in-law had a few words over the weekend.” He was confused and asked them where they had heard that. When they replied, “I read it on the blog,” I think he about died. Lol!!! He came in and was telling me the story and I laughed and told him that I put it on the blog and I had even read it to him before it went live. That’s what he gets for not paying attention to what I say. Hahaha!
Because I didn’t sleep well in the middle of the night, I overslept when it came time to get up. I was running late and rushing around trying to get ready. I did my 5-minute makeup routine which is a “lick and a promise” and then headed off to work. I threw on this white gauze type bell sleeve top that I got back in the spring. I think I might have gotten it at Belk but I really have no idea for sure. I just wanted a white shirt and this was the one that I came to first.
Isn’t this the cutest Halloween infinity scarf? I like the “cute” skull print since it is playful and well as colorful. The only thing that makes this even better is that it was sent to me from a blog reader, Deloris. I went to the Post Office and they said they had a package for me. I just automatically assumed that it was something that Joe had ordered so I was really shocked when I opened it and found a sweet note and scarf. She was thanking me for doing the blog and said what a difference it had made in her life. I can honestly say that I feel the same way about you gurls. I look forward to reading every comment (they make me happy) and that it is a labor of love for me.
I told you that I was frazzled today. No jewelry!!! That is just crazy. I must have really been half asleep when I got dressed. That just means I am going to have to double up tomorrow. Lol!
It is time for the jeans to come out of the closet. In the summer I hardly ever wear jeans but come fall and winter I am in them all the time. I love them cuffed with ankle boots and I love them tucked inside of knee boots. The skinny jean is my favorite just because they go inside the boots easily. The straight leg or boot cut is better if you want to wear them over the boots.
I am wearing a pair of Marc Fisher open-toe ankle boots. You will just have to take my word for it since I seemed to have cut off half of my foot in all of the pictures. That is what I get for not proofing the photos before I headed off to work. This is a prime example of being in a hurry and messing things up. The Marc Fisher suede ankle boot w/fringe detail is called the Novice. It comes in wine, dark brown, and black leather as well as the light natural. You can look at this post and see my toes. Lol!

I absolutely love the scarf!! What brand of jeans are you wearing?
Thersa, I am not sure which ones they were. Either Vigoss or Old Navy would have been my guess.
You look darling today even without any jewelry!! I’m a substitute teacher & it never fails….the nights I don’t sleep well is when I get called bright & early to work! (Just like today – lol!!) I love your outfit inspirations – I use them to help plan my wardrobe! Thank you!
A while ago you wore a necklace with “His time,His will, His way” (I may have these in the wrong order). It was a long necklace with a circle piece at the bottom if I remember correctly. I tried and tried searching your previous blogs and connections to jewelry, but cannot find this. (I was thinking that it was a perfect gift for someone-or several- who are going through a dark time.. . and I liked it for myself, too!!) Can you help me with this? Thank you!
I love Halloween ? and I too wear scarves to celebrate. You look very cute. Sleep, what is that? I know the experts say you need at least 8 hours but I live on maybe 4 to 5 hours. Trying to get more, but hasn’t happened yet
Sandy, I love scarves for holidays. They make it festive without being over the top. I need my sleep and I normally get at least 8 hours. There are times when I am in the bed for those 8 hours but I toss and turn. Those nights are the worst because the next day suffers.
I’m the same….minds on the go all the time…+I have written things down in the night lol….love this page x
We had a lawyer friend that always kept his pad beside his bed and wrote things down. I have even heard of songwriters saying that a song came to them in the middle of the night. I just can’t figure out how to do that without disturbing the other person.
I have a headlamp that I use at night when I wake up. I can read and write without waking up the hubs. Praying we all sleep well tonight!
Unfortunately, part of my menopause is night sweats so I’m up quite a bit at night. I struggle thru a lot of days. Coffee is a friend of mine. Have a great day!
I am sure there are a lot of us that can understand what you mean about the night sweats. Uggh. They are the worst!
You pull yourself together quickly and still look beautiful and glowing. Cute colorful Day of the Dead scarf. Hope your day goes smoothly. I always feel “out of sorts” all day when I haven’t slept well. Get to bed early tonight!
Thanks, Brenda. Wasn’t that the cutest scarf??? My readers are so sweet!!!
I have problems with sleep all the time! So does my husband due to shift work. The first thing we ask each other is how did you sleep?! I usually read your blog between 4:00 and 6:00 a.m. Just be glad it is only occasional!
You sure look great for someone who rushed out the door. Your skin looks lovely! I like the cute scarf!
Hahaha, Janet. Joe just told me, “I slept great last night, how about you?” Lol!
Absolutely love reading your blog . The outfits are a real inspiration and I try to use the some of your ideas here in Wales . It’s great to see your stories before I go to work. Your devotional pieces on a Sunday make sense too. Keep up the good work ?
Mercedes, it is so nice to hear from Wales! I have never been one who wanted to travel the world. But, since I have started the blog and hear from ladies all over the world, it makes me re-think my travel plans.
Very cute scarf and i love your blog. You always have the best outfits and are an insperation to me . I try to put some of my outfits together with your help. And by the way glad I’m not the only who goes to bed thinking of what I need to do the next day! Keep up the good work.
I don’t mind laying down and thinking about what I need to do tomorrow but I hate when it continues ALL NIGHT LONG!
Lol, I’m the same way, my best ideas come after I went to bed… My mind seems to race at night!?
