Happy Father’s Day, Lord!

Everyone reading this blog post has a reason to celebrate today! We all are blessed to have a loving, caring, giving, and forgiving heavenly Father!

Themed posts are not my favorite thing to write. What I mean by that is that I don’t like feeling like I have to write about a particular subject. Take Father’s Day, for instance. I am blessed to have a wonderful earthly father! He loves me and has always been in my corner. I know that no matter what, I can go to him, and he will do everything in his power to make everything better.

My father is the best, and I wish him the very best Father’s Day. HOWEVER, I am not writing this post just for me and my father. I realize that everyone might not have had a loving father, and in fact, some people had fathers who were not present. If that is the case, then days like this are hard to celebrate.

So, for a while today, let’s put aside our earthly fathers and focus our eyes and hearts on our Father in Heaven, who is constant. How many of you have ever said the Lord’s Prayer?

Matthew 6: 9-13

After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

10 Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

11 Give us this day our daily bread.

12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

I bet most of you can recite this from memory; I know that I can. I love how this begins, “Our FATHER which art in HEAVEN.” That gives me such comfort. No matter what is going on in your life at this very moment, you have the watchful eye of your Father, who is in Heaven. He is fully aware of what is going on in your life. Do you call out to Him in times of trouble? Do you excitedly thank Him in times of joy?

If your earthly father was not the Hallmark version that some people have, then you might struggle to look to your Heavenly Father. If you would never have gone to your earthly father for advice or help; you might find it difficult to go to your Heavenly Father. If your earthly father could not find joy in your happiness, then you might find it hard to share your thoughts with your Heavenly Father.

You must learn to separate an earthly father from your Heavenly Father. One is human and flawed, and one is Godly and perfect. One might not have been able to show affection, but the other knows what you need before you even ask it. (Matthew 6:8)

Today, I want to share with you a few verses about “your” Father’s love in hopes that today will be the best Father’s Day that you have ever had.

Isaiah 64:8

Yet you, Lord, are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand.

Matthew 6:26

Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?

1 John 3:1

See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.

To GOD Goes The Glory!

Have A Blessed Day!
