HIT OR MISS – CASUAL AND COZY STYLE
Happy middle of the week day, aka Wednesday. I love this time of the week since the weekend will soon be here. I look forward to the weekend because Joe and I try to have a date night, which means I get to go to a nice restaurant to eat. I get dressed up for photos all of the time, but I try to dress just for Joe on date night.
We have found that I usually am way overdressed compared to what everyone else is wearing. I’m not even dressed to the nines, but I’ve found that the style here seems to be casual, laid-back, and comfy. I could wear this outfit when we go out, and it would fit right in, but I usually want to look a little dressier than this. How about you? Do you dress up when you go out for a date night?
Date night aside, this Terry Fleece Jumpsuit is fabulous and, oh, so comfortable! I love the soft heathered fabric and the cozy style of this jumpsuit. I know that jumpsuits can be a royal pain when it comes time to go to the bathroom, but this one doesn’t have any buttons, so it is easier than most to get up and down. The straps are nice and wide, so I don’t worry about my bra straps showing as I’m moving about. The jumpsuit has pockets and a drawstring waist, and a banded hem. I’m wearing a medium in Navy Heather, but I’m going to order one in Chocolate so that I will have it for this fall.
Here is the look from the side. Note to self, take your hands out of your pockets unless you like making your rear stick out.
This jumpsuit would have looked great with a denim jacket in blue or white, but I wanted to try one a little different. I love pairing navy and yellow together, so the Modern Jean Jacket in a mustard color seemed like the perfect choice. Jean jackets can be too hot for summer, so this modern one will be a better choice since it is 61% linen and unlined. This jacket will be great for fall also because mustard is a huge color for fall.
Here is the look from the back so you can see the length of the jacket. I’m wearing a medium, and it fits a tiny bit loose, but still good. I think this mustard color has sold out. The jacket photo is online, but it only shows a white one in stock. A white one would be more versatile, but I picked the mustard because I was looking forward to fall.
I added a Y Necklace in shades of navy and green. The necklace has silver beads, so I layered three Riveria Metal Stretch Bracelets. My earrings look great with this necklace; they are the Insley Hoop Earrings in Blue Lapis.
I love a solid white sneaker for spring and summer. The Puma Leather Sneaker is perfect for us ladies who tend to get their white shoes dirty. It is easy to wipe off the leather, and if the laces get too dingy, you can easily replace those. These sneakers run true to size, and I’m wearing my usual size 9.
I think this jumpsuit is an excellent lounging around the house outfit. That is why I styled it with two different shoes. If you’ve not heard about Recovery Slides, you will thank me later. You might have heard me complain (whine) that I have plantar fasciitis. I had been wearing Brooks sneakers with an insert to keep the pf from flaring up. My daughter had a pair of these recovery slides, and she suggested that I try a pair. OH, MY WORD! I love these not so pretty shoes. Lol! I wear them like I would houseshoes, and I swear my pf seems better. When I first started to wear them, they hurt my feet where the pf flares up. I kept wearing them though, thinking that they were touching me in a spot needing support. I’m not sure that is the case, but that was my thought. I ordered this light gray pair; the pretty colors hadn’t launched for spring when I got mine. It wasn’t long until Joe also wanted a pair, and I bought him the black pair. The slides run true to size; I’m wearing a men’s pair (size 7) since there was only black available in womens at that time.
Where would you wear this outfit? To a BBQ on Memorial Day or the 4th of July, to the park for a long walk, or maybe when you are on a long car ride and want to be comfortable?
My daughter wanted me to show you that the outfit was a jumpsuit. I couldn’t figure out how to “show” it was all in one piece, so I stuck my hands in the air to show the waist was connected. She thinks I’m crazy. Lol!
Be sure to let me know which parts you like in the outfit. If you don’t like a part of it, let me know why it doesn’t work for you.

Most of the things you wear look good but this is awful. Looks like pajamas. It almost looks like you couldn’t decide if you wanted to work out or stay in your pajamas all day. This wouldn’t work at all for me. This is a big miss!
It seems to be “the way of the world” in most places anymore, to dress down and sometimes way down!
I always dress up though, date night or not, so I’m like you; usually feeling overdressed in comparison to most. I do it for me because I love having fun with clothes and curating my own style!
This outfit today would be a miss for me. I don’t wear jumpsuits for the same reason I don’t wear one piece bathing suits. It’s cute on you though and with the jacket (don’t particularly care for that color), it would be perfect for date night!
Sorry to say it’s a miss for me. Something about the jacket….just doesn’t seem to go with the outfit. And not liking the full blue bodysuit. But you look amazing as always!
I don’t hate this outfit, but I do hate that the tie at the waist isn’t the same color as the rest of the fabric. Draws the eye to the waist, which is not a good thing for many of us.
I do casual most of the time because I live in Las Vegas and it seems that the majority of people that I see out and about including on the strip are dressed that way. You look great as always and I love the denim linen jacket.
Yes, I would absolutely wear it. It looks very nice on you.
I love the outfit on you! The mustard jean jacket really makes a statement with the navy blue jumpsuit.
My husband says that wherever we go that I am the best-dressed woman there, meaning that I dress up anytime we go out for a date night: dinner, movie, concert, etc. My mother has always said that it is better to be overdressed than underdressed!
Super cute on you! I am thick around the waist, so don’t do drawstrings around my middle. Also not sure about the silhouette of the pants going down tight to the ankle. I’m looking at those slides, too!
I love jumpsuits, but this one would be a miss for me. I am not a fan of the banded hem.
Hey girl! I love this jumpsuit! Would you mind telling me what size you normally wear (8, 10?), that caused you to purchase a medium in this jumpsuit? Would you also share with me your height? Thanks so much!
Beth, I am 5’6″ tall, and I waver between an 8 and a 10. Lately, I’ve been wearing an 8, so that’s why I ordered a medium.
