HOW EMBELLISHMENTS CAN CHANGE YOUR LOOK
If you are a new follower of mine, then you might be confused about why I can’t spell girls correctly. I had a long-time follower email me last night and ask why I always typed “gurls” instead of girls. Good question because I promise that I do know how to spell, for the most part anyway. Lol!
The spelling of gurls started years ago. I was in Tennessee working a vintage fashion show, and my granddaughter, who was about 2 or 3 years old, was with my friends and me. We left the fashion show and went shopping. I drove up to the curb of the store to drop off my friends before I went to park. My friends hopped out of the car, and my granddaughter thought she was being left behind. So, all at once, she shouted, “don’t leave me gurls!” You have to imagine that she couldn’t talk very plain. Lol! I have said that every since whenever someone was leaving me, so it came naturally for me to put it on the blog.
This cable-knit sweater is super cute, but I noticed that the details are difficult to see. The Ivory color washes out the details, so take my word for it that it is unique. This sweater has a crew neck and long sleeves that have quite a bit of volume. The top is machine washable, so that is a big plus in my book. I am wearing a size medium because it does run a tad bit large. Here is the link to the sweater.
These pants are so stinking cute. But, when I went to link to them, I couldn’t find the exact ones online. I hate it when this happens because I know that you would have loved to have purchased a pair for yourself. These are from Chico’s, and they are called the Juliet button-hem pant. You might be able to find them at your local Chico’s, so give them a call to see if they have them in stock. These were a little big on me; I am wearing the size 1.5. I tried to exchange them, but they were already sold out, so I didn’t even get to get a pair. There is a similar pair called the Brigitte button-hem, and here is the link to them. The big difference between the two pants is the style of the buttons. The pair that I am wearing have embellished buttons for a dressier look, and the Brigitte pants have a more plain button for a style that you could wear at any time.
I added my favorite black pumps by Coach to the look. I love the look of pumps with almost anything, but I know several of you prefer a lower heel or even a boot. I like to mix it up as much as possible, so I have ordered in a few shoes to show you in upcoming posts.
GIVEAWAY!
So many of you have messaged me about trying to find the fountain of youth. As far as I know, there is no such thing, but I do believe that I have found the next best thing. I am amazed when I look back at my photos when I started blogging because I think that I genuinely look younger. Who wouldn’t want that? Does anyone want to look older???
I am going to be giving away a “mini” or a travel size regimen to some lucky winner. Go to HERE and take the solutions tool to be entered. This will tell me which regimen you need if your name is picked. The winner will be announced on Saturday’s blog post. Please, do not enter if you are already a current customer of mine or anyone else’s. I want someone who has never tried the products to get their hands on these products.
How is your memory???
Have you done any of the following? Walked into a room and forgot why you went into the room? Drove by the place that you were supposed to turn off? Or, maybe you have been telling a story and forgot what you were saying???
Then WHY would you think that you could remember to check my blog post every day without my daily reminder? Take two seconds and subscribe to the blog. Enter your email, and then check for the email verification that will be sent to confirm your subscription.

Hello Tania. I stumbled on your site thru Pinterest which showed you in various casual outfits. I fell in love with your style and decided to visit your site. I am so glad I did. I intend to visit often.
I subscribed to your GURLS newsletter. To my surprise the term gurls, which in my experience refers to male to female transgender women, was not what I thought. lol Being a transgender woman myself I find the fashions that you model are perfect for women of a certain age. Thank you for your gifts.

Cute outfit…very striking on you.
Sometimes it all in the details but being an old crafter from way back, I’ll just find some cute buttons and sew them on. Changing buttons can completely change a look on a shirt too. I love sweaters but here on the coast even in winter it’s hard to find a day to wear one but chunky, nubby sweaters, cable knits are favorites.
Love your outfit, especially that beautiful sweater! Keep the “gurls” term. That is in my southern roots.
The story about your granddaughter is just precious! My grandkids are in college now but we still use some of their expressions from that age. I’ve been using the Redefine & Reverse regimens for almost two months now & I can really tell the difference in my skin! I’ve been following you for about 6 months now & when I originally looked at your older posts I thought that you had had some work done. LOL Thank you for turning me on to R&D!
Hope you’re feeling better! And I absolutely love the buttons at the hem — very sassy!
I love this classic look! I’ve always loved that you call us “gurls” but never knew the story behind it. Hoping you feel better soon!
Mary, it had been a long time since I told “why” I spelled it gurls, so I thought that everyone might like to hear the back-story.
Hey Gurl! How about that adorable necklace!?!? I hope you feel better!
Haha! I love the GURL reference! The necklace is an old one from Plunder that unfortunately is no longer available.
Count me in on the “gurls” issue! Don’t change a thing! We love you! Also, pretty outfit…classic! I rarely comment, but I couldn’t let this one go by!
Marie, thanks for taking the time to comment. I know everyone is busy, and when you comment, I do appreciate the effort.
Please tell us about that necklace. I love it. Love gurls too!
Sue, that is an old necklace that I have had for a while. It was a Plunder necklace, but it is no longer available. So sorry.
wow, simple and classic a great look! stunning.
I am glad that you liked the look, Mary!
Love the pants and sure wish they still had them. They look great on you! Hope you start feeling better soon. Weather has been crazy up and down here in OK too! 70° one day with tornado’s and snow the next day! Don’t stop using ‘gurls’. I think it’s very endearing.
The pants are gorgeous! I can see why they sold out on the website. I am sorry that I didn’t get them on the blog sooner.
The pants are really cute! I have ones in blue that have buttons and a cutout at the bottom but they will have to wait for warmer weather. Right now it’s socks and boots!
We have been lucky with the weather so far, but it is probably going to change soon.
I love the “gurls”. Don’t change a thing.?. When my brother was young, he pronounced girls as gulls. My mom and I still laugh about it..?
Have a great day.
Gina, she might have said gulls instead of gurls. Lol! I am glad that it brought back a great memory for you.
Please do not change gurls I always felt it belonged to you and your blog….keep the gurls happy who follow you. Thanks Teresa
Teresa, I am glad you like the reference. I wasn’t going to change it, I just thought that some might be confused about why I used it. Lol!
