HOW TO COMPLETE YOUR OUTFIT WITH A CARDIGAN
Have you ever heard the saying, “it’s like herding cats?” I don’t know if that is a saying all over the country, but it is something that I have heard all my life down here in the south. For those who might not know what it means, I’ll explain. Cat’s are not like dogs in a lot of ways, but especially when it comes to doing what you say. They don’t respond well to commands, and they might look at you like you have lost your mind if you ask them to “come.” You can pretty much forget getting a cat to sit, roll-over, or fetch, along with pretty much everything else. They will “let” you pet them, but only if they feel like it at the time. I am pretty sure that they think “we” belong to them and not the other way around.
I have two cats, and both of them are thanks to my daughter. My white cat is an outside cat, but she gets to come and go in the house every day. She has a pet door in Joe’s garage, and it is heated and airconditioned, so don’t feel too sorry for her because she is outside. He keeps that garage warmer in the winter than my house, and it will freeze you to death in the summer because he keeps it so cold. Even though this cat was brought into the household originally by my daughter, this is Joe’s cat. If I don’t let her inside quick enough, she will go to the window and hop up on the sill to look at him in the computer room. She is old, she is overweight, but she still manages to jump up on the windowsill, which has to be at least four or more feet off the ground, to make sure that he sees her. But, when Joseph (my son) ended up with four cats who all came to my house to eat, my cat started coming inside to eat. We started noticing that my cat was trying to fight the other cats (she is the meanest cat in the neighborhood), so we decided to bring her inside to eat. The theory was, she would eat, and then she would go back outside. That worked great for about a month, and then she decided that she liked staying in the house. She would disappear once she was finished eating, and we would have to find her to put her outside. I have learned to keep all of the bedroom and bathroom doors closed to make it easier to find her. Lol! So, it is now up to him to get her to leave the house. When I try to put her out, it is like she is running a Nascar race. She runs around and around and around from one room to the next, or she runs under the table and then starts the laps again. But, with Joe, she doesn’t pull that crap. He tells her to go outside, then he goes and opens the door, and that stinker will walk right out. ? He is a bonafide cat herder!!!
Have you ever heard of Barefoot Dreams? It is a very nice brand that has super soft loungewear, clothing, and blankets. No, this is not from Barefoot Dreams, but you wouldn’t know it from the way that it feels. This is called a completer cardigan, and even though I haven’t looked up what that means, I assume that it means it “completes” your look. That is how I feel about adding a cardigan or jacket to an outfit; it completes it and makes it look more “put together.” This cardigan is exceptionally soft, and it is also very stretchy. I ordered a large in this thinking that if I put it on over a long-sleeved turtleneck, that I would need a larger size. Take my advice and don’t make that mistake. As you can see from the photo, it is too big for me under the arms, so a medium, or maybe even a small, would have worked better. But, it is worth the trouble to order this in two sizes if you are not sure which size you would need because it is that soft. Plus, all you have to do to return the one that doesn’t fit is to take the email that says the item was delivered to your store, and they will refund you the money right there on the spot. Where did I order this??? Walmart, silly. Lol! (No, this isn’t a sponsored post) Here is the link.
Before winter gets in full swing, I am taking the opportunity to wear my mule shoes as often as possible. I only have a few mules, but I like them since they are so easy to slip on and then head out the door. I stumbled across this snakeskin loafer style pair the other day, and I thought they were very cute, and I knew that you could wear them in a lot of ways. Just like leopard print, the snakeskin print is considered a neutral, and therefore you can wear it with anything. The penny loafer style shoe is a classic, but having that style as a mule, makes the shoe look more modern. I laughed when I took these out of the box because they have a faux looking dime already in the penny slot. These mules are comfortable, and they run true to size. I am wearing my usual size 9, and they fit perfectly. Here is the link, and these are UNDER 26.00!!! You’re welcome. Hahaha! I love a beautiful pump, so here is a link to one. And, for those of you who aren’t fond of mules, here are you some other styles to choose from.

Ordered the mules! Can’t wait. The cardigan is in my cart, just might have to get that too!
Oh I love those fun jeans! Yes your top sure looks blue! Too funny about Joe the cat herder! Have a blessed day!
There must be something of the cat herder in all men. My husband Bill and Marv the cat have the same kind of “relationship”. That cat will do anything for him, and nothing for me. Everyday after work Marv goes for a trip around the house with Bill holding him in his arms as they go from room to room on his daily tour. It’s enough to make one gag! lol (It also explains why the cat adores him!). Lovely shade of blue on you today Tania!
Love reading cat stories and the video is hilarious! I have two cats, they are pretty much the boss around here, but funny they also respect my husband more than they do anyone else in the house.
Love your look, the cardigan looks so cozy!
Love the cardigan! I wear them a lot in the winter! This whole look is very “me”! Cute and comfy!
I think cardigans really make an outfit. Plus, they keep you warm.
Oh my gosh. The video was too funny.
Love the cardigan…ordered it in the blue. So excited,
Loved the cat story. I have a cat, so I get it…had 2 and one passed away about a year ago. But you are so right about the nature of a cat and their antics. My Coco is my sweetheart…she’s a love bug and is always near me.
Love your blog…I’ve just recently joined in. I’m enjoying it and appreciate your hard work.
Thanks..Sherli
Sherli, welcome to the blog!!! I am so happy to see you, and that you took the time to leave a comment.
Oh my, what a funny video on cat herding. Laughing is a great way to start the day so thanks for that. The way that you described a cat is very similar to the way a dachshund is. I have asked myself why I keep getting dachshunds since they are such rascals but somehow I just love them anyway. A combination of cuteness, little short legs, and a funny long body….who can resist.
I like laughing to start the day also. My aunt also kept dachshunds, and you are right about them being rascals.
Love that cardigan and your post Tania.
I have snakeskin boots on in a recent style post which you might like too.

Thanks, Yvonne! Good to see you back commenting.
Love, love, love that cardigan!! Is the color light blue or gray? It looks light blue. I would have never guessed that it was from Walmart. I have an Himalayan female cat that stays inside. She was too expensive to let outside. Even though she has been spayed, I’m still afraid she would go away. And…..we have coyotes in the area. Her name is Zoee, and she loves to be loved, of course when she wants to be loved. I have had a lot of cats over the years, but she has to be the best one.
The one that I am wearing is light gray. It was the shade that made it appear bluish. We have coyotes in our area also, but our cats have a pet door to use, so hopefully, that will keep them safe.
