Let’s talk about something that many of us think about but don’t always know how to tackle: covering our upper arms. Whether it’s for a bit of extra confidence or just because you like the style, there are plenty of chic and comfy options out there. The best part? You don’t have to sacrifice your style to feel good. From flowy tops to stylish jackets, I’ve got you covered (literally!). Let me show you how to cover upper arms and look fashionable!

How To Cover Upper Arms And Look Fashionable With Caridgans

I like wearing cardigans because they cover my upper arms and give me the look of a thinner waist. I don’t have curves (thanks to scoliosis), and a cardigan tricks the eye by drawing it inward and creating the illusion of a thinner waist. Here are a couple that I’ve recently worn.

How To Cover Upper Arms And Look Fashionable With Shirts & Blouses

The easiest way to cover your upper arms is with a shirt or blouse. In the summer months, I like to wear short sleeves as well as a 3/4 length. If I wear a long sleeve shirt, I’ll roll the sleeves up to create a 3/4 length look. I also use different fabrics to cover my arms, such as crochet or sheer items.

How To Cover Upper Arms And Look Fashionable With Ruanas & Ponchos

One of my favorite ways to cover my upper arms is by adding a ruana or a poncho to my outfit. I can add a lot of visual interest with these items and cover my arms at the same time. I call this a WIN-WIN!

C’mon, this is beautiful! I’m seeing tan and white everywhere and I love it. With its funky geo print and open front design, this poncho would add a touch of elegance to any outfit. Made from 100% Modal, it’s light, airy, and perfect for layering! Whether running errands or going out for a casual dinner, this poncho is stylish and comfortable. Plus, it’s machine washable, making it easy to care for. Available in white and two sizes: XS/S and M/L. Pair it with jeans and a simple top for a casual look.

This beautiful piece comes in a beautiful shade called Ojai Sky and would bring a pop of color to any outfit. I mentioned yesterday that Sky Blue is a huge trend right now, you can read about it here! The open-front design and pretty tile print make it a must-have. Throw it over a simple white dress for a beautiful summer look. If you think it’s too long, tie it at the waist!

Another awesome khaki and white combo! This cozy piece, available in the shades of Toasted Oat and light blue, is perfect for layering when things get a bit chilly or when restaurants get overzealous with the AC unit. Made from soft, quality fabric, it drapes beautifully and would elevate any casual outfit. Plus, this one-size-fits-all poncho is easy to care for and machine washable!

Paisley Printed Poncho

Here’s a light and breezy poncho that would look great this summer. It’s made from rayon, so you know it’s soft! This is nice and thin, perfect for when you want something to cover the arms without making you too hot. It’s available in sizes S/L and XL/3X.

A short-sleeved sweater is a great way to cover the upper arms. This vibrant option is designed to drape loosely for a relaxed fit. With its short sleeves and easy shape, it would layer over a ton of different outfits. Wear it with a tank top of the same color or go with a contrast like white or black. It’s available in Pomegranate, Navy Blue, and White and in a variety of sizes – Petite, Regular, and Tall.

Look how beautiful and elegant this is! Made from a soft and breathable linen blend, this ruana has a hint of shimmer for a touch of glamour. Available in stunning gold and silver, it’s the perfect way to add a little BLING to your wardrobe! Dress it up or pair it with jeans for a more casual look.

The shrug is back! This ultra-soft version is woven with metallic threads, so it shines with a subtle sparkle. It hangs straight from the shoulder and lightly skims the midsection, and the sleeves are a nice length ending right at the elbow. Available in sizes XS-XL.

One more shrug, this time in a timeless classic color. Made from a breezy pointelle knit, it features short sleeves and a hook & eye closure and hits right at the hip. This would be gorgeous over a white or yellow sundress, or with a great pair of white jeans and a tank top. It’s also available in white, but there aren’t as many sizes left, so if you prefer that option shop quickly!

Finally, Amazon is a great resource for items like ruanas and short-sleeved cardigans. This knit version looks very similar to the others above but is much less expensive. It comes in a ton of colors and is under $32. The reviews are great, and get high marks for size, appearance, and softness.

Okay, Gurls. I am in no way saying you SHOULD cover your upper arms. That’s a personal choice and I say to each her own. But if you are insecure about the area, hopefully, one of these fashionable items will help!
