Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old wearing a pink sheath dress from Isaac Mizrahi with Lilly Pulitzer flip flops There are times when you are at a loss for words. I find myself struggling to put my thoughts and emotions in print because I am afraid of saying or doing the wrong thing. But, I know that inaction is almost the same as condoning actions, and I don’t want anyone to believe that I condone the actions that took the life of George Floyd. My heart breaks for his family, his friends, and those who are left to carry on without him. It breaks for everyone who has been on the receiving end of prejudice and judgments based merely on the color of their skin.

Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old is wearing a pink sheath dress from Isaac Mizrahi I’ve been following a pastor from Tulsa, Oklahoma, for several years. He is energizing, hilarious, humble-open-and-transparent, and he is BLACK. It was heartbreaking watching his Sunday virtual church service, and hearing his own recent (10 days ago) racial encounter. Interestingly, his #1 best selling book is titled Relationship Goals. Relationships are more than friends, family, and potential life partners. They are also how we treat our neighbors who come in all different sizes and skin tones. You can not judge if someone is good or evil based on skin color or what uniform they are wearing. If you are interested in hearing his thoughts and suggestions, then you can listen to his Sunday message by clicking HERE. I don’t have the answers, but I am not doing nothing. But, I am praying for hearts to be opened and for love to be poured in so that hate no longer has a foothold. I know that my blog is not where you come to for news and world events, but instead to get fashion inspiration. So, let me tell you about my jewelry, which is something I am much more comfortable talking about. I am not wearing much jewelry today, but instead just adding earrings and a necklace. The earrings from Lilly Pulitzer are the Zanzibar hoop earrings that have small crystals on them. And, the long Reid necklace has a gorgeous Ivory Mother of Pearl drop pendant.

I LOVE these beautiful flip flops. Those are words that I never thought that I would be saying. Lol! Who calls a pair of flip flops beautiful? Lol! I do! When the flip flops have a gorgeous Lilly Pulizer print on the sole and metallic gold straps, then they can be considered beautiful. I bought these shoes to match a bathing suit (HERE), and you will find the bathing suit as gorgeous as the shoes. The shoes run true to size, and I am wearing the 9/10 ones. HERE is the link to the shoes.

Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old is wearing a comfortable pink dress from Isaac Mizrahi with Lilly Pulitzer flip flops Today, I shopped in my closet. I wanted to wear something comfortable but still looked nice. This dress is years old, and it is by Isaac Mizrahi. I love a dress like this because I sometimes use it also as a bathing suit coverup. When you are at the beach, lake, etc., you need to go inside to get a sandwich or a drink, and slipping something like this on is perfect. This dress feels like a nightgown but looks flattering and appropriate for running inside a store. I will try to see if I can find something similar.

I have been singing this song all day long. It is a song that I learned at the knee of my grandmother, who also happened to be my Sunday School teacher.

Jesus loves the little children
All the children of the world
Red, brown, yellow
Black and white
They are precious in His sight
Jesus loves the little children
Of the world

Ephesians 4:31-32

31 Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. 32 Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

  1. Tania, I have been singing that song lately, too! Thank you for introducing the Pastor, can never meet too many people of God. I love the pink dress, the flip flops are pretty and help dress up the entire look.

Tania, thank you for speaking out about this injustice! You are a fashion blogger, but you are also human and I stand with you on this! Hugs from Ohio!

Love your blog and follow it everyday!

  3. Hi Tania pink is definitely your colour love your dress sending love from across the water the world would be a much better place if we could show a little more love and respect to each other we don’t have to agree on everything to still love and respect each other ?

  4. Totally agree with your comments about current events, thank you for sharing. Love your blog for all it contains—thank you for continuing to be you!

  5. I agree, Tania. I have always had a very simple rule in life. If you are nice to me, I’ll be nice also. I don’t care what you look like. You definitely cannot judge someone by the way they look. Ted Bundy taught us that lesson, among others. I like your coverup and the flip flops are very pretty.

    1. Joe tells me that I live in a tra-la-la world. I don’t see the bad in people and only expect good from everyone. I don’t think that is a bad way to live.

  6. Claudia Stovall says:

Thanks for adding the link to The Transformation Church. I’m always looking for new people to bring into my life, and he just may be one of them. And you’re right, we don’t come to your page for politics. I come to your page because you are cute and sweet and have a good sense for fashion. Maybe we would agree on politics, maybe not. Maybe we would agree on religion, maybe not. You provide a few minutes of relief from the crazy world. It was very thoughtful of you to include this message. Have a great day!

    1. Claudia, Pastor Mike is different. He is energetic and has an engaging personality. He also has a passion for the Lord and a way of explaining the Bible that makes it easy to understand. None of us are going to agree on everything, but that is what makes us all unique. We just need to respect each other and embrace the differences.

  7. Love your comments and your style. We all need to keep praying and keep the conversation going. The pink dress is cute. Looks great on you.

    1. I am limited on what I can do, but I can pray and keep the conversation going.

    1. Eileen, Pastor Mike is great. I get a lot of my inspirations for my Sunday posts from him.

  8. Tania, you seemed to be reading my mind with your post today. We need to be the hands and feet of Jesus Christ more than ever before. There’s so much hurt and sadness in our world. Thanks for encouraging us to LOVE one another!

    1. The LOVE THEY NEIGHBOR command doesn’t have any type of exclusions. It means everyone, even those who don’t look or behave like you.

  9. Hi Tania. I know you don’t like to comment on current events because this is a fashion blog but what you said today was so nice.

    1. Jo, you are right, I don’t like to comment on current events as a rule. But, sometimes, you need to break the rule and let others know that you care.
