HOW TO EXTEND YOUR WARDROBE
I have enjoyed being at mom and dad’s house. We were on the go a lot but I still managed to get a lot of nap time too. Lol! On Tuesday night we went out to eat with my DIL and all of the grandkids to celebrate Matti B’s birthday. Mom and I were getting ready to go and she was grumbling about needing some new clothes. “But, I don’t want anything frumpy. I don’t want to look old” was what she told me.
I told her that I knew a fashion blogger that she could follow who might help her. She didn’t say a thing. Then I told her that I might could even talk that blogger into going shopping with her and helping her to pick out some clothes. She sat there for a minute and then said, “you mean you???” I feel like Rodney Dangerfield, “I get no respect!” Lol!!!
Remember the tie-front sweater that I wore in this post? I think that this must be it’s brother because they are so similar. The tie part is just on different sides and of course, they are different colors. Lol! But, the easy-going style and the comfy material is the same in both of them. This was in a Trunk Club shipment last year and it is a sweater that I grab all the time.
I am going to try and ask you to think of something that you are thankful for each day. Today, I am asking you to comment on what kind of candy you are thankful for. After all, you probably have a bunch left over from last night. Lol!

Very slenderizing outfit, Tania! Your mama is too funny! Can’t wait to see pics or better yet, a video. I looooove candy and it loves me too. I love butterfingers, Hershey bars and of course (no brainer) Reeses…Not Sorry!
I am thankful for Payday candy bars, and Andes chocolate mints. My oh my, they are good!
I love how you tied the skirt! I would tie it up a little higher to show a little more ankle. You always have great ideas.
I am thankful for a merciful God. And Hershey’s cookie layer crunch mint chocolate candy. Mmmmmm
I am thankful for the homeless kitten we took in. He brings lots of playful mantics and gives us lots of love.
Your Mom’s comment, “you mean YOU” is hilarious! Yes, we often do not get enough respect from those closest to us. I enjoy reading your post each day!
I am thankful for almond joy
Love how knotting the dress ties in with the knot on the sweater! Lindt Dark Chocolate Excellence bars are the best–70%: as my girlfriend says, any amount higher tastes like dirt! I’ve also become addicted to caramel M&Ms, so I rarely buy them. Usually a square of the Lindt bar will satisfy me. You and your mom are so funny!!!!!!
I am thankful the Lord created all the ingredients for someone to make chocolate, and then gave someone else the smarts to put a cherry inside! Chocolate covered cherrys are my favorite!

Oh I LOVE this outfit and I’m going to look for a copycat dress to use to come up w an outfit like this. I love that bright blue sweater! My fav candy as a kid was the dark chocolate Orange Sticks and I just found a box at Marshalls!
I’m only 4”11 so the tie wouldn’t do to well on me,but looks great on you as usual! My fav candy is milk duds and I’ve always worked in dental til I retired lol! I’m sending my left over candy to Operation Gratitude, they send it to our troops over seas, some dental offices also are involved and will pay you per pound for your candy and they send it to the troops…
I am thankful for Hershey’s milk chocolate in any form. Keeps me going through the day.
Love your daily blog! CHOCOLATE <3
Oh brother, I love to indulge in a little fun size Milky Way. The good old Dollar General has packages of six and I can make one last for about two weeks. Sometimes longer. I love to see other women in maxi’s. I wish I felt more comfortable in them.
I am very thankful for Hershey Kisses. I am on a low carb diet and I allow myself 1 or 2 kisses a week. My reward.
Any candy with lots of caramel; Zero bars are my kryptonite
I’m thankful for the traditional candy corn. Can’t get enough of it. Cute sweater and I wouldn’t have thought of wearing a sweater over a summer maxi dress. That’s why you’re the professional. I’m going to try this since I have several maxi dresses. Funny how our mothers keep us grounded.
I am thankful for your inspiration each day…and I am thankful for gummy bears. My hips may not be thankful for the candy, but that is another subject! Enjoy your time with your Mom…and yes, it seems sometimes that our parents do not fully grasp their adult children’s special talents. I try not to do that with my adult children!
I am thankful for peanut butter M&M’s. I don’t dare buy them very often as my hand keeps finding the bowl throughout the whole day. I already have a dress in mind that I want to try and style with a sweater over the top !! I SO hope you share photos of your mom styling the new clothes that you find for her. That would be so fun to see !

I am thankful for Atkins Peanut Butter Cups! I discovered those when I did the ketogenic diet, and I love them. They are pricey at $5.50 for 10, but a great low carb chocolate snack.
Love the daily thankful idea. Today I’m thankful for the best candy Pecan Pralines. It makes me thank of my southern home.
So thankful for grace. And sour candies… and Doritos ?
I am going to have to get on the peanut butter cup, peppermint patty bandwagon. I am tempted by the tie at the bottom of the skirt, I normally cannot wear a maxi as I short, but this might make the difference. I think I have one in the back of my closet and I can give this a try!
M&M’s. Plain. Love them.
I would have never thought to do that. What a great idea! It’s so nice to see all the greenery in the background! The leaves have already fallen off the trees and we’ve had frost already!!
I am thankful for my health, my family, my friends and my job. We never had any Trick-or Treaters, so I don’t buy any candy which really is a good thing as I would eat it all!! My favorite chocolate is the kind you get in the Whitman’s box of chocolates. It’s got a chewy molasses center!! ??? But if course I would eat any kind !! ??
PS – have a grand time clothes shopping and styling your mom!! I hope to see some outfits on her!! Cherish those memories!!?? Have fun!!
I love anything dark chocolate! At the holidays, I love our family’s homemade chocolates we give out as gifts! Been doing that for around 40 years!
I never met a candy I did not like. Ghirardelli Chocolates are a treat! Sea Salt Dark Chocolate and the Peppermint Bark is great through the Holidays.
I am thankful that Halloween only comes once a year! I love dark chocolates with sea salt and am never tempted by those yummy Reese’s peanut butter cups until…….Halloween! Good idea to put the sweater over the dress. I don’t think I would tie the bottom, I’d probably trip on the knot!
I am thankful for Sour Patch Kids candy, MAYBE! It’s my favorite and of course I have some left over from Halloween…UGH!
Thankful for people like you who share daily on the internet and of course my family who keep making new memories with me. The grands are the best. Hard to pick one candy but if I choose has to be Hersey bar with almonds.
Love Reese peanut butter cups! My Fav! Love the idea of a sweater and a maxi dress. I am thinking about trying that as well. I’ve been on Pinterest looking but every model seems to be 20-40 years old and weigh 12 pounds. I’m 62 so I can admire the outfit but can’t relate. Thanks for keeping it real! Best…Kathy
Great way to extend your wardrobe. I wouldn’t have thought of that.
I’m with Gwen, dark chocolate with coconut and almonds, but then again a peanut butter cup or maybe a peppermint pattie….Can I keep going? Lol!
Me too!
I love dark chocolate and almond bars! Today is my birthday! I’m thankful for 61 years of blessings!
Happy Birthday, Gwen!!!! You can’t go wrong with chocolate and almonds!
Happy Birthday, Gwen…Hope you have a blessed day and year to come!
I am thankful for the Pound Plus Dark Belgium Chocolate Bar from Trader Joe’s! Do you have a Trader Joe’s in your neighborhood? Your grandchildren are all adorable! So are your 3 children!
I enjoyed all the pictures. You resemble your Mom a lot I think.
