HOW TO EXTEND YOUR WARDROBE
I have enjoyed being at mom and dad’s house. We were on the go a lot but I still managed to get a lot of nap time too. Lol! On Tuesday night we went out to eat with my DIL and all of the grandkids to celebrate Matti B’s birthday. Mom and I were getting ready to go and she was grumbling about needing some new clothes. “But, I don’t want anything frumpy. I don’t want to look old” was what she told me.
I told her that I knew a fashion blogger that she could follow who might help her. She didn’t say a thing. Then I told her that I might could even talk that blogger into going shopping with her and helping her to pick out some clothes. She sat there for a minute and then said, “you mean you???” I feel like Rodney Dangerfield, “I get no respect!” Lol!!!
Remember the tie-front sweater that I wore in this post? I think that this must be it’s brother because they are so similar. The tie part is just on different sides and of course, they are different colors. Lol! But, the easy-going style and the comfy material is the same in both of them. This was in a Trunk Club shipment last year and it is a sweater that I grab all the time.
I am wearing the Tegan earrings today. They are a beautiful seafoam blue color and they have a 2″ drop and are set in goldtone. They look great with my necklaces but unfortunately, both of these necklaces have been discontinued and are no longer available. The good news is that the Maeve bracelets and the Heidi ring are still available. The Maeve bracelets are a trio that each have something cute dangling and they are on an elastic band so they are easy on and easy off. The rings are so nice and heavy. You will love these rings!!!
I am wearing a long maxi-dress under the sweater and treating it like I am wearing a skirt. This is one way that you can extend your wardrobe to get more wears out of your clothing. This dress is a spaghetti strap maxi and normally you can’t wear that in the winter but when paired with a sweater it takes on a different look. This dress is really long and I decided to tie the ends together to make it shorter and to give the dress a different look. What do you think about the tie? Is that something that you would ever consider doing?
This is starting the month of being Thankful! I am so very thankful for all of you who take the time out of your day to read my blog. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
I am going to try and ask you to think of something that you are thankful for each day. Today, I am asking you to comment on what kind of candy you are thankful for. After all, you probably have a bunch left over from last night. Lol!

M&M’s. Plain. Love them.
I would have never thought to do that. What a great idea! It’s so nice to see all the greenery in the background! The leaves have already fallen off the trees and we’ve had frost already!!
I am thankful for my health, my family, my friends and my job. We never had any Trick-or Treaters, so I don’t buy any candy which really is a good thing as I would eat it all!! My favorite chocolate is the kind you get in the Whitman’s box of chocolates. It’s got a chewy molasses center!! ??? But if course I would eat any kind !! ??
PS – have a grand time clothes shopping and styling your mom!! I hope to see some outfits on her!! Cherish those memories!!?? Have fun!!
I love anything dark chocolate! At the holidays, I love our family’s homemade chocolates we give out as gifts! Been doing that for around 40 years!
I never met a candy I did not like. Ghirardelli Chocolates are a treat! Sea Salt Dark Chocolate and the Peppermint Bark is great through the Holidays.
I am thankful that Halloween only comes once a year! I love dark chocolates with sea salt and am never tempted by those yummy Reese’s peanut butter cups until…….Halloween! Good idea to put the sweater over the dress. I don’t think I would tie the bottom, I’d probably trip on the knot!
I am thankful for Sour Patch Kids candy, MAYBE! It’s my favorite and of course I have some left over from Halloween…UGH!
Thankful for people like you who share daily on the internet and of course my family who keep making new memories with me. The grands are the best. Hard to pick one candy but if I choose has to be Hersey bar with almonds.
Love Reese peanut butter cups! My Fav! Love the idea of a sweater and a maxi dress. I am thinking about trying that as well. I’ve been on Pinterest looking but every model seems to be 20-40 years old and weigh 12 pounds. I’m 62 so I can admire the outfit but can’t relate. Thanks for keeping it real! Best…Kathy
Great way to extend your wardrobe. I wouldn’t have thought of that.
I’m with Gwen, dark chocolate with coconut and almonds, but then again a peanut butter cup or maybe a peppermint pattie….Can I keep going? Lol!
Me too!
I love dark chocolate and almond bars! Today is my birthday! I’m thankful for 61 years of blessings!
Happy Birthday, Gwen!!!! You can’t go wrong with chocolate and almonds!
Happy Birthday, Gwen…Hope you have a blessed day and year to come!
I am thankful for the Pound Plus Dark Belgium Chocolate Bar from Trader Joe’s! Do you have a Trader Joe’s in your neighborhood? Your grandchildren are all adorable! So are your 3 children!
I enjoyed all the pictures. You resemble your Mom a lot I think.
