HOW TO LOOK DRESSY AFTER LIVING IN LOUNGEWEAR
How many of you are ready for Christmas? Have you got all your shopping done, got your packages wrapped, have your meal planned out, and groceries bought? If you said yes, then you can come to my house because my answer to every one of those questions is NO. Lol! Normally, I get my shopping done early, even if the packages aren’t wrapped. But, this year I am lagging for some reason.
I remember walking over to my mother-in-law’s house on Christmas Eve (that’s where we would go every year) and her daughter would be in the back room wrapping my MIL’s presents. Lol! I remember thinking at the time, “why bother to wrap them for only a few minutes?” I promise I’m going to have my gifts wrapped before Friday night, even if it kills me. Lol!!!
How To Look Dressy After Living In Loungewear
I’ve noticed that my style has gotten more casual lately, and I’m fine with that. However, since Joe and I have been going on Date Nights each week, I like to dress up and look special for him. I haven’t brought all of my clothing from my other house, so I have been struggling to find something to wear. I ordered this Geo Henley Blouse, and I loved it as soon as I took it out of the packaging.
I’m thinking 2020, and dressing in so much loungewear has robbed us of the ability to look dressy. I’m tired of only wearing sherpa and fleece, and I want to have a few things in my closet that I can grab when I want to look dressy any impress my husband. This 100% polyester blouse is just the thing to get me moving in the right direction. It is machine washable, so I don’t have to baby it, and it looks crisp and sharp. I’m wearing a size medium, and it fits perfectly.
The blouse looks great tucked in, but you can wear it out to cover your fanny. It is long enough to wear with leggings, and faux-leather skinny pants and velvet leggings would look great with this blouse. Just remember to size up in those leggings since they tend to run small.
You might not be a fan of prints and patterns, and instead, love to wear solids. I did a post with a solid satin shirt and black pants, and that might appeal to you more.
Jewelry helps You To Look Dressy
I don’t think I look dressy if I don’t have on jewelry! I didn’t get a great photo of the leopard necklace, but it is a real statement piece. The leopard necklace is heavy and so unique. I love that his spots are rhinestones, and they catch the light and glisten as you walk. The coin necklace has already sold out, but this layered convertible necklace has one layer that is a coin that you could wear by itself to get the same look.
If you haven’t tried Chico’s jewelry, you are in for a pleasant surprise! My earrings are a pair that I’ve had for over a year. I first bought them in silver, and I liked them so much that I also bought them in gold. They are lightweight so they don’t tug on your ears, but they have held up great and are of fabulous quality.
I wish that I could invest in SPANX since I’m starting to be their biggest fan. Shapewear, what they are known for, isn’t my thing, so I’ve never bought much from SPANX before. Now that they are going into clothing, I’m hooked. Their pants fit like a dream, even though I think they run small. And, they flatter a woman’s body, and who doesn’t want that?
These are the Perfect Pant, Hi-Rise Flare in black, and I love how these pants look dressy and feel like yoga pants. These pants have four-way stretch which helps to hold you in, and they are fitted through the hips and thighs. They gently flare out at the bottom of the leg for a flattering silhouette. I am wearing a large, and they fit tight, but not too tight.
My lipstick for the day is called Daring Red. For the most part, I will wear Soft Rose, Sensual Rose, or Daring Red daily. Sometimes I wear a mix of a couple of these to get the shade that I’m looking for. I have been ordering these from Nordstrom, but when I looked on the CHANEL website, I found more shades that I didn’t know were available, including some limited editions.
There are two major players for bloggers to use when giving you the links to our clothing. I use both of them, but I going to be using one in 2022. Using LTK will make it easy for you to find my outfits in one spot any time you want to go shopping. You can find my looks two different ways, on a computer or laptop by going to SHOPLTK.com or on a phone in the LTK app. You will need to search for 50 Is Not Old in either location and follow me so that I will come up in your feed. Let me know if you need any help navigating this.
I know that a lot of you like to pin outfits on Pinterest. Pinterest has made it harder for people to find the link to visit the creator of the image, so I would appreciate it if you would share the pin with my logo. Hopefully, that will help people find my blog and the links associated with the look.
I hope you liked today’s post. If so, PLEASE remember to pin my post on Pinterest.

The blouse is a winner.
Since our weather here is going to be rather warm on Christmas Day, this blouse is perfect! And luckily our local Loft has it available. Thank you for the post and solving my “what to wear on Christmas Day” dilemma!
I love to “dress up”! We live on the Gulf coast, it is below casual here. I wear whatever I want. My husband’s work Christmas party was Monday night. He wore black and a bright red spots jacket. I wore a multi color sequin top and black wide leg pants. It was so fun to “dress up”!
I use my iPad. Do I just need the app?
Your look is beautiful, classy, and put together!
Tania, you look amazing! Good job! I wish I had your will power. Love this top. Looks fabulous. Merry Christmas to you and your family. Enjoy the holidays.
Tania–quick (I hope) question about the ShopLTK.com link. When I click on that, I get a screen that asks for login info (email & password) or to create an account. Is that what correct?
Mary, they want you to create an account so that they can show you the specific creators you choose.
