HOW TO MAKE YOUR LEGS LOOK LONGER
I did something today that I haven’t done in probably fifteen years. I went to the nail salon, and I had all of the SNS polish soaked off of my nails, and then I cut them down almost to the quick. I love long nails, but I am terrible at making time and going to the nail salon. I needed my nails done before I went to Myrtle Beach, but I couldn’t find the time. Joe told me to go to a salon while I was at the beach, but I hate going to someone new, so I decided to wait.
If you notice in this picture, you see me trying to hide my pointer fingers. That would be because I broke one of them before I came home from the beach, and then I ripped off the other one this morning. I had already decided to quit putting SNS, acrylic, or gel on my nails, but I hadn’t planned on getting them cut so short. My nails were long, but since I broke the two off so short, I cut the rest of them off to match. Here is the funny part…I can’t type now. Ashleigh thinks it is hilarious that I could type with long nails, and now that my nails are short, I am taking forever to get my typing done. So, how about you, ladies? Have any of you ever decided to go cold turkey on having long nails?
I told you they were super short.
The Fairisle pattern is gorgeous, and I especially love the colors of this sweater. I am not as big a fan of the brightly colored Fairisle sweaters as I am the toned-down versions like this one. The medium gray backdrop is perfect for the deep teal and bright white pattern. Neutrals have been my jam this fall and winter, and I can’t get enough of gray especially. But, this pattern adds some spice to the sweater to keep it from looking too blah. The ribbing at the cuffs, neck, and hemline is a nice touch, and it helps the sweater to fit better. The ribbing at the hemline allows you to position the sweater to create to draped effect, or you can pull it down for a sleeker look. I am wearing a medium, which is what I usually wear if I order from The Loft or the Loft Outlet. This sweater is part of the huge sale that is ongoing, and here is the link.
You might remember this deep teal corduroy pair of pants from this post back in early November. It is funny that I wore them with a Fairisle sweater back then also. I sent back the pair from the older post because they were too small, and I reordered them a size bigger. I have learned that when I purchase from the Time and Tru brand that I need to size up one size unless it is a stretchy pant. Here is the link to the pants.
Today I wanted to elongate my legs, so I decided to wear a pair of nude pumps that I have had for years. This is a pair of Michael Kors nude pumps that I bought in Tennessee. I don’t wear them often because they are about a half size too big. I wanted to see if I could add something to the back of the heel to make them fit tighter because I love these shoes. Nude shoes can be worn with anything, so you get lots of wear from a pair.

How is your memory???
Have you done any of the following? Walked into a room and forgot why you went into the room? Drove by the place that you were supposed to turn off? Or, maybe you have been telling a story and forgot what you were saying???

There are only a few days left in this year. I am trying to reach my goal of 50,000 Instagram followers before the by January 1st. It is almost impossible, especially with the new changes that Instagram has made. But, it is only impossible until it’s done. SO, if you are following me, then tag a friend. If you are not following me, then go here to follow me and then tag a friend.
Thanks so much for following me on my blog. Be sure to follow me on Pinterest, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and Facebook.

I had to give up my acrylics because after probably 20 years of having them done, I became allergic to the product! Made me so sad… I keep mine sport length and use gel polish now. Love it!
I admire women with beautifully manicured nails but I never wanted to commit to the amount of time that it takes, and I can only imagine the amount of money I’ve saved over the years. It’s enough to deal with regular haircuts, haircoloring, makeup, exercise and housework. In the end, as we get older and need to deal with inevitable health issues, some things just gotta fall off, lol!
I quit wearing nails a long time ago and never wore polish again until recently. I found that Morgan Taylor polish stays put on natural nails, way less chipping than other brands. so now I can wear polish again without the worry of it coming off in a day. you look great in this outfit by the way!
I quit wearing acrylic nails about twenty years ago. I agree with many others, short nails look elegant and classy. To me now, long acrylic nails look dated and unattractive. Keep your nails short, Tania. You will be so glad you do.
The sweater looks great on you and loving the nude heels! I’m not a fan of long fingernails and mine are always pretty short and usually clear nail polish. I do admire others long and pretty nails, they are just not for me.
Have you tried adding an extra innersole to your shoes. I just put one in my right shoe and it was just enough to tighten so it feels comfortable. Should work on a pair.
I wear my nails short and neat because I do crafts but also because I just like the look of neat. I wear a simple haircut and basic clothes. I think it depends on what you like. Personality plays a large part in how we dress. Ill bet you would miss pretty nails. It is part of who you are.
Tania, Congrats on going all natural with your nails. I had gels for a few years, and just like several others have said – who has the time. I’m so much happier how that they’ve become strong again. If I don’t have time to make them look awesome I just make sure they have clear polish applied & they stay really strong. Love saving the $$$ too.
Tania, love the look! I went cold turkey on my nails because gel was thinning them out. Here is a tip to get your shoes to fit…in shoe dept @ Walmart they have these oval adhesive items that you adhere to inside of shoes near toes. They make it so your toes don’t slide to front of shoe…makes it fit better at heel. You can get them most anywhere…inexpensive.
First, love the pant color and that sweater is so pretty. I spent years getting acrylics. I started getting the dip powder and after about 6 months watching them do it, I bought my first at home kit. Now I dip my own nails!
That is so ironic that you were talking about your nails today bc I’ve had acrylic nails for ages and stopped for a very short time, then back to acrylic. Recently I started with the dip, but they chip so easily. I have been contemplating the natural nail…ugh I don’t think I’ll like them for a while, but the money I’ve wasted and I’m tired of going back and forth. I think I’m taking these off this weekend. I wish my natural nails looked as nice as yours. Mine are like paper.
Hope you have a great weekend and Happy New Year!
