HOW TO STYLE BLACK
I have loved reading all your sweet and lovely comments that you have left for me the last couple of days. It was wonderful reading about the stories of your grandmothers. My sister spoke at my grandmother’s funeral on the behalf of all of the grandchildren. That is what happens when you are a writer and you attend toastmasters on a regular basis. She did a great job, I don’t know how she held it all together and didn’t cry while talking.
The funeral was at 1:00 and about 10:00 that morning my Aunt called to say that the preacher who was going to do the service was sick and was not going to be at the funeral. My mother calmly turned to me and my sister and said, “we have a problem.” That is a pretty BIG problem. Luckily, my daughter-in-law’s father is a preacher, so we called my son and explained the situation. Phillip agreed to do the service and he was wonderful. Granny would have been tickled at the whole situation.
Todays’ outfit is another version of black. My cousin, Lisa Dawn, drove in from West Virgina for the funeral. She is a reader of my blog and she was telling me that as she was picking out her outfit she told her brother that she had to find her red shoes. “Tania will call me out if I don’t have a pop of color!” How funny is that??? All I could think about was that my upcoming outfit has no color. Lisa Dawn is going to be so disappointed. Lol!
I am wearing my Plunder waterfall/bibb necklace. It is called the Eliza and it is adjustable up to 24.” I like this necklace and I have worn it several times. I also have on the matching bracelet called the Wanda. I like a couple of things about this bracelet. I like the little dangle balls and also the fact that it is a stretch bracelet. I like anything that makes it easier to get a bracelet on and off. I can’t tell you how many times I have gone to work with my bracelet in my pocket till I could get one of the girls to fasten the bracelet for me. I am wearing a pair of earrings called the Mason. If you have a catalog you probably never even saw them. They look tiny in the catalog but they are gorgeous in person. Remember that I am offering 10% off any order over 50.00 (excluding the taxes and shipping) I will send you a check. The first refund cheks have been mailed, and I will put another round of checks in the mail on Tuesday. To place an order for the 10% off with Plunder, go to www.plunderdesign.com/party/ts.
These knee high black boots are by Marc Fisher. I bought them from the overstock outlet in town. Several of you have asked about these outlets. There are two that I shop at. One is called The Outlet Store and the other is called Bob Branham Sales. Both of the stores are located in Grundy, Virginia.
I thought the black boots might be too dark, just too much black. These suede shoes are gorgeous but I think they would look much better with a dress or skirt. They just didn’t look right to me. This were Marc Fisher shoes also. I have trouble wearing shoes with an ankle strap, they look cute on other people, but I always end up taking them off.
You all know I love a jacket or blazer. They polish a look, they hide body imperfections, and they can add color. This khaki jacket is several years old. I bought it at JC Penney, along with a black identical one. I hardly ever wear this jacket but it looks nice, I am not sure why I don’t wear it more often.
Giving the gift of glow for the holidays. Here are a few suggestion for almost everyone on your shopping list.

Absolutely beautiful girl! Elegant, classy and you look so tiny!!! I had a jacket this color years ago and have hunted high and low for a replacement. It was my go to other than black and red. Have a wonderful weekend. You deserve it. Blessings ?
Hi Tania! Love this outfit! I don’t think the boots make it too dark! It’s a very sophisticated outfit! Love, love the ankle strap shoes, but you’re right, not with this outfit. The shoes look great on you! You should definitely wear them with another outfit!
Rest your body & soul this weekend and know that you are loved and in our thoughts!
Your granny gave you love & memories to carry you the rest of your days!!
That jacket is perfect! I wouldn´t believe this color goes so well with black! Thumb up! 😉
You look wonderful in this outfit. I am so sorry for your loss. May your love for Granny carry you through these difficult times. It is never easy. Rest on your faith.
Łove your hair !! Very elegant look !
I think your outfit looks fabulous with the khaki heels! You really should wear them, you look great!
Love this look – easy and elegant.
Love your classic look today! This is one I could wear to work in my all black uniform. Just have to change jacket to navy or charcoal. I am allowed those colors. Try not to get to worn out! We love your blog and wouldn’t want you to be sick. Have a great weekend!
You look so lovely in this outfit. I really like that waterfall necklace. I hope you can get some rest. Funerals are very draining mentally and physically.
Love the way you styled your black with a touch of camel – I am sure your Grannie would have totally approved!
Have a wonderful Friday!
