I hope you had a wonderful weekend. Joe and I had a great weekend, and he even hung my curtains Saturday morning before he headed out to play. Lol! Little Miss Emersyn was my houseguest from Friday night until Sunday afternoon. We had missed her since she hadn’t been over for a couple of weekends, so it was great to spend time with her. She brought over her nightlight projector, which makes the coolest “sky” on the ceiling. If you have a grandchild, you need to put this on your Christmas gift list for them.

galaxy and stars on the ceiling

This is what is projected on the ceiling. There are three different settings, and you can also adjust the brightness. This one is the stars and galaxy combined.

green stars projected on the ceiling

This one is the stars only. Although I am not sure why the stars are green. Lol!

And, this one is the galaxy only and my personal favorite. This one moves, and it looks like smoke as it swirls across the ceiling. Emersyn loves the galaxy and the stars together because it is the brightest. I think that the light stays lit up for around six hours, and Emersyn said that she had used it every single night since she got it for her birthday. Since my Energizer Bunny Friend’s daughter is crazy for purple, I am going to get her this for Christmas. My brother’s daughter is also going to get this, but she is so smart that she will probably tell me that the stars are not in the correct spot in the sky. Lol! I think that they both will love it. Here is the link to the light if you are interested, and it is $10.00 off the regular price.

Besides watching the stars and galaxy swirling over our heads, Emersyn and I assembled a wardrobe rack for me to hang clothing on that has come in, and that needs to be pressed. That was a chore, but she had a blast helping me with it. Then, we played several rounds of Uno and Go Fish, and I am proud to announce that I beat her like a drum. Lol! There is no sluffing off when we play games, and she would be ticked if she thought that I wasn’t trying. She sure does do a happy dance when she wins. Lol! And, finally, we printed off coloring sheets from the web and colored and colored and colored. She might have shed a tear or two when it came time to leave on Sunday. I am so thankful that she is at the age where she wants to come and stay the night, and still thinks Joe and I are cool. I know that these days are numbered, so I am taking advantage of them as often as possible.

I LOVE everything about this outfit today. I think that it is the perfect fall outfit, and I had to style the jacket and jeans with a couple of different accessories. Let’s face it; accessories can make or break an outfit, so trying out several various accessories is my best advice. You should see my bed sometimes when I am getting dressed. I’ll start with an outfit, add jewelry, then decide I want a scarf. I’ll add boots, and then decide that I need flats. Next, I’ll add a handbag, and then I’ll decide to change pants. Lol! I have ended up taking forever to get dressed and not have on a single item that I started with in the beginning. Lol!

I think that this oblong Leopard Print scarf is a great fall accessory. The scarf is lightweight, so you could even wear it all year round, especially since leopard print is a seasonless print. I love the black, white, and camel-colored border, and the scarf is long enough that it can be worn in multiple ways.

I wanted to show all of you the cute cross necklace that I just bought. I’ve been searching for the perfect cross necklace, and I can’t believe that it was under my nose, and I just hadn’t noticed before. You know that I love all of my Kendra Scott jewelry, well, this is Kendra Scott. The reason that I hadn’t noticed it before is that it has to be bought separately. Both of these pieces are 18kt. gold vermeil and I had to Google to find out what that was. Gold Vermeil is sterling silver jewelry that is gold-plated. The difference in gold-plated versus gold vermeil is the gold vermeil if thicker plating and underneath the plating is sterling silver. Now, you’ve had your jewelry lesson for the day. Lol! Here is the link to the chain, and here is the link to the cross charm that I added.

The other jewelry items are the Maggie Hoop earrings, the Maggie Bangle, and the Davis Vintage Gold Multi-Strand Necklace. The Davis necklace comes with three chains that can all be removed from the clasp. I love how versatile this necklace is, and I am wearing two of the chains today. You can wear one, two, or three chains, and you can even attach other necklaces that you own to the clasp for a custom necklace of your own making.

The chestnut-colored twill knit band jacket is one that I eyed for a while before I finally decided to go ahead and place my order. I was afraid that the jacket would be too short, but it’s not. I was also worried that I wouldn’t like the band collar, but I love how I can wear the collar up or down. The color was another thing that had me worried because I was afraid that it would wash me out. All of that proved to be false, and I ended up loving the jacket!

What grabbed your eye first? Was it the handbag, the dark-wash straight leg jeans, or the pointy-toe ankle boots? My guess is that it was the handbag, so that is what I will tell you about. Lol! You usually see me carrying a tote bag large enough to have a small kitchen sink inside. But, occasionally, I love carrying a satchel handbag, especially if I am dressed up. I love a tote, but they are not usually elegant enough for a dressy occasion. This Calvin Klein Leather Handbag looks dressy with the gold chain and gold push-lock closure. Also, the chain is removable if you only want to carry the bag by the handles. This handbag has lots of different sections, and that is perfect for me since I like my bags to have compartments so that I can keep my things organized.

I decided to show you how this outfit would look with a handbag that wasn’t as dressy, so I added this leather Kattee dark brown bag with the silver hardware. This handbag is a nice color and weight, and it also has plenty of compartments and a strap that can be detached. I am carrying the “small” size in this bag, and it also comes in a large version.

Straight-leg jeans are becoming my go-to jean for fall. I love how the jeans make my legs look long and lean, and they still have a large enough opening for my boots. The pair that I am wearing today is in the color Nightfall, and I love the deep blue color. These jeans are from Talbots, and I have found that I need to size down when I order from them. So, I am wearing a size 8 in these jeans instead of my usual size 10. I like the way that these fit, so I suggest that you size down in their jeans.

This is my favorite color for knee boots. If I am given a choice on what color to purchase, I will almost always pick a caramel color for some reason. I have to “make” myself choose black, navy, or gray since those are colors that I will occasionally need. I like how this pair has the strap that goes across the front and the heel that is less than an inch tall. These leather knee boots are by Naturalizer, so you know that they are a great boot. I am wearing my usual size 9, so these run true to size. BTW, these also are available in a wide calf if that is something that you need.

The Sam Edelman ankle boots are the same ones that I wore in this post (here), and the black v-neck tank top is the same one that I wore in this post. (here) You can look at either of those posts to see an up-close photo of the items.

I was looking back over my posts, and I found a post (here) that I did that said “it” was the perfect fall outfit. Hmmm, will the real Perfect Fall Outfit please stand up! Tell me which look is your favorite, today’s look, or the one from 2018?

ADS

I saw that a couple of people have complained about the ads that run on the sides or in the middle of my blog and almost every website. I researched extensively for the best ad company before I picked the one that does my site. What I specifically was looking for was one that would not show ads that I considered inappropriate or offensive. The company that I chose has an interactive type ad, and what that means is that the advertisements that “YOU” see are probably different from the ones that “I” see. If you are looking for a washer and dryer, then you will start to see ads that are from appliance companies. If you are searching for a car, then you will begin seeing automotive ads.

I hope that you will consider these ads as your personal assistant. Lol! My DIL taught me this trick, and it is a great one. She said that she loves the advertisements that pop up for her because they remind her of what she was looking at, but had forgotten. If you are not interested in any of the ads, then scroll. The ads are necessary for me to be able to pay for the blog, so I can’t get rid of them.

I saw this on social media yesterday, and I thought that I would end today’s post with a laugh. LOL!!! Happy Monday!

I hope that you have enjoyed today’s post and that you will tell all of your friends about my blog.

To God Goes The Glory!

Galatians 1:10

10 Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.

  2. I remember giving my grandsons the “stars light” and they loved it. Then I found a lamp, that rotated the pictures, it all so much fun.. Loved it. I love all the outfits, especially the jacket, and big on the scars for an accessory, they just add so much color.

  3. I love the 2020 look!

I also love it when you put outfits in a side-by-side comparison! I can just pin one picture for all of the great looks.

  4. My oldest granddaughter is 22 and would still come to stay with us. If you are close now it doesn’t stop. I moved to another state last year. And finally I’m in the house to stay. She’s coming within the next month or two to visit. And my granddaughters who live close to me are 13 and 15, they love to come and stay here also. We have some land and they love it.
