How to Wear Jeans for Thanksgiving and Still Look Stylish
I know I’ve been showing you a lot of sweaters lately; after all, it is sweater weather. But in all honesty, sweaters are pretty much what I wear every day once the weather starts to cool off. Today I’m styling a sweater and jeans for Thanksgiving, and I think it looks casual but still stylish. I hope you enjoy today’s outfit inspiration post.
Even though I think I want to get all gussied up for holidays, that isn’t what usually happens. Cooking and talking with the family throws my schedule off, and more than once, I’ve run into the closet and grabbed a sweater and a pair of jeans for Thanksgiving.
This Olive Fairisle Crewneck Sweater is perfect for Thanksgiving! I love the colors, and since it is such a busy print, you’ll never know if I drop some food on it. 😝 You know I’m crazy for a Fairisle sweater, so you shouldn’t be surprised that I would pick one to wear for Thanksgiving.
The sweater is a nice weight and soft against my skin. I’m wearing a medium, and the sweater fits great and won’t show all my lumps and bumps even if I eat more than I should.
The Modern Ankle Jeans have a modern straight-leg fit and olive green velvet tape that runs down each leg. These jeans have a relaxed fit but aren’t baggy or loose. To wash these jeans, you need to turn them inside out first and wash them with like colors. I’m wearing my usual size 8, and they fit great.
Look at this Pebbled Leather Satchel Bag! This satchel is the perfect medium size, and the leather is soft and subtle. I love that you can carry this bag as a satchel, a shoulder bag, or a crossbody. That gives you a lot of options on how you want to carry the bag, depending on where you are going.
I’m not sure why I prefer suede instead of leather. Don’t get me wrong, I love leather too, but suede looks so luxurious. I will wear leather all year round, but I hardly ever wear suede any time other than fall and winter. The Francesca Suede Driving Flats are gorgeous, and I love the tassels. Several comments were made about the back of the shoe rubbing your heel, and that happened to me also when I first put them on. I bent them at the toes and then bent the back of the shoes, and when I put them back on, they didn’t rub anymore. You might want to try them on in a store if you are worried about this issue. They run TTS; I’m wearing my usual size 9.
Since I’m talking about wearing jeans for Thanksgiving, I thought I would show you a couple of other outfits that I’ve recently styled. These would also look great, and they are both styled with dark wash flare jeans instead of ankle jeans.
How do you normally dress for Thanksgiving? Do you dress up, or do you end up wearing jeans for Thanksgiving like me?

Love the olive sweater and the flair jeans. It’s cold here in Washington state, but I usually wear short sleeves with a cardigan instead of sweaters. I tend to run hot now that I’m older. I’ve started getting 2 or 3 emails from you. Only 1 actually opens. Don’t know why that happens.
Janet, that was an oops moment from me. I think I have the issue worked out, so you shouldn’t get but one unless I goof up again.
Thanks for the beautiful sweater options! The olive green one is beautiful! I can’t believe Thanksgiving is a few weeks away! Have a great day
Gorgeous fairisle Sweater. Those are perfect fall ensembles. Great job Tania!
Love those green shoes! I’ve never tried Talbots’s shoes.
Love all the sweaters but I live in Texas so you never know what the weather will do, I typically layer so I can peel off if it turns out to be hot on Thanksgiving which can certainly happen!
Love the outfits and accessories!
Love the shoes!
You always find the cutest sweaters! This fairisle sweater will be perfect for Thanksgiving

I’m a jeans and sweater girl myself – always cold so I need the sweater. Thanks for showing many options.
