HOW TO WEAR VELVET OVER 40

I was talking to my hubby, aka Joe, last night on the phone before I went to bed. He told me to slap him  ? the next time that he told me to go out of town for a week and a half. LOL!!! I think he is missing me, what do you gurls think? I don’t know why he is missing me because I left him the dog and the cat for company. He should be feeling needed having to change the puppy pads and making sure that they get fed twice a day. Just typing that has me rolling in laughter. Lol!!! He is getting his revenge though, he has adopted a new kitten. ? My son who lives next door has a cat who had 4 kittens about a couple months ago. They have gotten old enough to start exploring and they have found their way to my house. My older cat was not amused but the kittens didn’t pay her any attention. They have taken a strong liking to MY catfood and they appear on my porch every morning and night. My son fusses at me and tells me to stop feeding his cats. Lol! Like that is going to happen. Hahaha! Anyway, two of them have bobtails and Joe claimed one of them as HIS last night. He is actively trying to think of a name for it which is kind of difficult since we don’t know if it is a girl or a boy. Here is a picture of two of them and I think the one that is “his” is the one on the left. Aren’t they adorable? Let’s come up with some names for them for Joe. He is not that creative. Lol! Shhh, don’t tell him that I said that………and this means YOU, Debbie! Lol!First off, Happy Halloween!!!! Next, I want to apologize for the quality of the photos. I took these pictures after I had come home from work one afternoon and the sun was starting to set. The photos were dark and when I tried to “lighten” them up it made them grainy. At least you get the idea of what everything looks like. I love this velvet top in maroon from Old Navy. Velvet is a HUGE trend and you can find all different colors and different items in velvet.

This is the first time that I have worn the Rae earrings. They are a matte gold, diamond-shaped earring, with light pink stones. I added the Jolene bracelet with the look since it also has light pink stones. I love the movement of the flowers on the bracelet. I also added the gold links Eloise bracelet with this look. It was the first time for me to war this one also. I love that you can wear it with lots of things and it looks so elegant. I am a sucker for a long duster and this one from Old Navy jumped in my shopping cart before I even knew it. Lol! This is so comfy and cozy and I love the pockets on it. The color I chose is called Mauvey Star but I have no idea why since it is a taupe/beige color which is a great neutral. I ordered a large and it fits perfect. I wanted to make sure that it wasn’t too small for me to wear a shirt or a sweater under it. It is also on sale, so woohoo!!! I bet you thought that I had on the same jeans that I had on in this post. Nope! This is a pair of Rockstar jeans from Old Navy in the color Royal Pine. This is a fantastic buy on these jeans for those who want to try the olive color trend that is so hot this year without purchasing a more expensive pair of pants.
