Do you ever feel discouraged? Maybe like you’re not doing enough? I’ve been battling that feeling lately, and it isn’t very pleasant.

I get so busy wrapped up in my ever-growing to-do list that I find myself putting spending time with the Lord on the back burner. Then, I get discouraged and vow to do better, only to find the same thing happens again the next day.

Then the thoughts of being an imposter set in. Am I just going through the motions of being a Christian? Why am I writing a Sunday faith post when I’m not qualified? I should quit posting about my faith since I’m struggling myself.

All these thoughts were running through my head Thursday morning. I was beating myself up because I’m trying to read my verse of the day before I get out of bed. Then, I’ll listen to a short, and I mean short, explanation of the verse followed by a prayer. But when my alarm went off that morning, I walked into the kitchen and opened my computer to send out the day’s email and completely forgot to spend those precious minutes with the Lord.

We hadn’t taken out the trash to the curb the night before, and they run before 8 AM. I slid open the window blinds to watch the sunrise because I didn’t want to walk out in the dark. Once it was light enough to see, I put on my jacket and grabbed the trash receptacle.

As I walked out of the garage, I looked up and noticed that the moon was right above my driveway. It was a beautiful 1/4 moon, and I mumbled something about the Lord’s wonderful creation. Our driveway has a steep incline at the top, so I looked down to see where I was walking since I didn’t want to slip. But when I looked back up, I was in for a big surprise.

As I said, the 1/4 moon was right in the path of my driveway, and I looked back up at it as I walked to the street. This time the moon wasn’t alone; it had company. Two jets were flying in opposite directions, and they intersected right beside the moon to form the most perfect cross I have ever seen.

I’ve seen lots of jets leave condensation trails before; they are long and streak across the sky before starting to dissipate. But these were different; the trails weren’t long; they were short. They only formed the cross, not an intersection. They didn’t form an X; they didn’t form a T; they formed a perfect cross.

I think that is the first time I’ve ever cried while taking out the trash. Even now, when thinking about the marvelous sight, tears start to form in my eyes. I had been listening to the enemy tell me the Lord couldn’t use me with all my flaws. But, in that one brief moment, the Lord showed me otherwise.

The Lord used a long list of flawed people in the Bible, such as Moses, David, Peter, Gideon, and Paul. I know the Lord doesn’t call the qualified, He qualifies the called. But I don’t put myself in that category.

Exodus 4:10-12

10 Moses said to the Lord, “Pardon your servant, Lord. I have never been eloquent, neither in the past nor since you have spoken to your servant. I am slow of speech and tongue.”

11 The Lord said to him, “Who gave human beings their mouths? Who makes them deaf or mute? Who gives them sight or makes them blind? Is it not I, the Lord? 12 Now go; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say.”

Psalm 51:10-12

10 Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
11 Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me.
12 Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.

Luke 22:31-32

31 “Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift all of you as wheat. 32 But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers.”

Judges 6:15-16

15 “Pardon me, my lord,” Gideon replied, “but how can I save Israel? My clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my family.”

16 The Lord answered, “I will be with you, and you will strike down all the Midianites, leaving none alive.”

2 Corinthians 12:9

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.

If you find yourself struggling or worrying that you aren’t good enough, remember that neither were the men above. But, even with their many flaws and inadequacies, the Lord still used them.

So, walk outside and look around at the Lord’s magnificent creation. And kick the enemy’s negative thoughts to the curb. For you are fearfully and wonderfully made!

To God Goes The Glory!

Have A Blessed Day!

  1. I recently found you on Pinterest and am thankful I did. In the last 18 months, my 29 yr old daughter was diagnosed with breast cancer requiring a complete mastectomy, intense chemo and numerous rounds of radiation. She’s also had her ovaries and tubes removed at the young age of 30. Thankfully she is considered to be in remission although she has the BRCA2 gene which we found my husband has and will have to wait and see if my now 2yr old granddaughter inherited when she becomes an adult. This genetic makeup carries a higher percentage for the carrier of other cancers throughout their life. In the last week, my husband suffered a bad fracture to his knee and is now laid up for at least 6-8 weeks. With all this, I’m trying to remain faithful in the lord and all his wonders and gifts because I know there is always someone in worse shape. But it’s hard to keep the faith and be grateful. Your posts remind me to be thankful and know God will get us through. God Bless

    1. Angela, I am so sorry you are going through all this. I pray that The Lord has mercy on you and your family and heals your husband, protects your granddaughter, and restores your daughter to full health.

I am ENOUGH, because God is with me. Even though the outcome may not be what I imagined, it will ultimately serve His purpose, and I need to trust Him. Thank you for all the scripture references too. So helpful to have them all in one place.
Please consider putting some of your past devotionals in book form. It would make a lovely gift for those who may not follow your blog. God bless you!!

  43. Melissa Palmer says:

This was an absolutely beautiful post. Please don’t stop writing these Sunday posts. I really look forward to them. You mentioned that you are struggling in your faith and you don’t feel qualified to write these. Have you ever considered that perhaps that is why the Lord has willed you to write them? We learn so much when we teach others. I have a blog about creating a life you love and I often have those feelings of self-doubt as well. But I charge on and recognize that sometimes, I am writing those posts for myself LOL. God created us all and he uses each and every one of us in some way. And, BTW, I loved the cross story! Have a great day.

  52. Dana Smithmier says:

Oh how Satan loves to plant seeds of doubt! But – that’s all he has…..he isn’t the creator and he will never be our Savior. Our God is bigger, better, stronger, greater than he could ever be🙌

  53. Great message today. Safe travels.

  54. Kelly Brooks says:

  58. It is a comfort to know we aren’t alone in our struggle to follow God and to live a life that glorifies Him. It is even more comforting to know that we are not alone in our journey. The words of all these ladies bring reassurance that even in our state of imperfection, God can and is using us to help others along our way-even when we don’t feel it. We can’t let the enemy(Satan) derail us. Thank you for your posts. Let’s keep on keeping on as we lift one another up in prayer. Here’s to growing stronger in the Lord!

  59. Roni Snow says:

  61. Beautiful devotion today-so encouraging! Please don’t let the enemy stop you from using social media for His glory!

  62. Boy! How timely is this post! I was “beating” myself up a bit and saw the title of your post.
My question would read, “have you ever been doubting your call/path and gone to open your email for that morning’s devotional only to be struck by the title of a post?!?”
    Thank you! 🥰🙏

  63. Hi Tania, I’ve been struggling with these same thoughts. God is so good to remind us we are chosen and loved by Him. Enjoy your vacation! I’m sure the sun and sand will be beautiful.

  64. I save some scriptures, verses, or anything that I feel someday I might need, or someone else might need to hear.

Thank you Tania! You are one of the reasons I have started a bible study at home. And these posts are why I stick to it. I’m sure I am not alone and that you have inspired many of us to seek solace and discover how we can serve the Lord. This story of the jets forming a cross is so uplifting ~ have a safe trip to Mexico💕

  67. What a wonderful post! Very moving and very real.

  68. Anita Daily says:

Thank you Tania! What a beautiful way to start the day!

  69. Beautiful story, Tania. I love and can relate to the message. I’ve been struggling with these feelings as well lately.

  70. Wow…..incredibly written Tania!!! God’s creations are breathtakingly beautiful. I completely understand about giving God your time the first thing in the morning. Some of my mornings are spent longer with the Lord than other mornings. I have been guilty many times of scrolling through emails & my phone before giving God my undivided attention. I always enjoy your daily fashion posts, however I “thoroughly” enjoy your Sunday posts. God is definitely using you so please do not stop writing your Sunday posts. Speaking of Moses…. My husband and I are going to see the production of Moses at the Sight and Sound theater in Lancaster, PA this week for our Anniversary trip. We have saw Esther & David. I highly recommend anyone to go see one of these productions. They also have a location in Branson City, MO. Each year they choose a different Biblical person and bring their story to life. I will say that if someone is not a Christian when they go there, they will definitely be convicted when they leave as well as being in complete awe of the talent and the Holy Spirit in that place. Email me if you want details. Enjoy your Cancun vacation and looking forward to seeing pictures.
    ~Lisa~

    1. Timely is the operative word! So I’m not alone in my commitments and resolutions! Inspiring as always , Tania . I try to make my quick little Bible time and devotion first thing every morning too. It seems this important time is getting shorter everyday.
I needed the nudge to make it priority. We know what we should do, just don’t do it.
Enjoy Mexico. That is a gorgeous part of the area.

  71. Powerful message. Be safe in Mexico

  72. Thank you for this reminder!

Beautiful Testament to the goodness of our God! Thank you for being vulnerable enough to share, I know that wasn’t easy. God bless you Tania 💖. Keep doing the work and remember that He that has begun a good work in you will continue until the day of Christ’s return.

  75. Thank you Tania for the encouraging words!! I enjoy your devotions and personal stories as much as the fashion advice. Hope you’ll keep them coming! Enjoy your warm weather time with your Joe 😚😍

  76. Kemper Pinckney says:

Oh wow! I got a little tearful reading your post today! Thanks for being so real and sharing ! I think most Christian women walk in the same shoes as you ..I know I do ! So much to do and so little time and always feeling a sense of missing the mark or inadequacy in some way ! And why is it the first thing I will shirk when busy is my time with God ??? Well, thanks again and keep taking out the trash😜 and looking for His constant faithful reminders 💛He is and always will reveal himself to Us when we seek Him!! Happy and Blessed Sunday!!

  77. Amen! 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
Tonia, I have been suffering with the imposter syndrome off & on most of my life. All my life God has graced me to succeed in business and life in careers I was seemingly unqualified. After I lost my son unexpectedly in 2020 I’ve struggled to bounced back to any resemblance of myself and feel totally unworthy and unqualified to walk in my divine calling. 🥲 However, this post has blessed and remind me that I am not alone in feeling unworthy and reminds me that God’s Grace Sufficient for me! Thank you for your transparency, be blessed! LaTanya

  78. Deb Taylor says:

I love this, Tania! Signs are everywhere if we just look. 🥰🙏
