50 IS NOT OLD | WHY YOU NEED AN OVERSIZED TOPI had a spooktacular time last night. I really loved seeing all the little ones out trick or treating. No, I didn’t have very many come by my house but at least I did get to see their outfits on Facebook. It is crazy how fast we can adapt to new technology. Just think back maybe ten or twenty years ago. Facebook was not something that most of us had back then. I find it hard to imagine not having that instant access to pictures of my grandbabies. I can remember having to carry around a little “brag” photo album to show people my children. I bet you haven’t seen one of those in years.50 IS NOT OLD | WHY YOU NEED AN OVERSIZED TOPNow you just whip out your phone and show hundreds of photos or videos to poor unsuspecting bystanders. Lol! I remember once about 15 years ago when I was on my way to Tennessee to visit. I left my cell phone at the house and I didn’t think about it until I was over 30 minutes down the road. This was before the days of smartphones so all it did was actually place a phone call. However, I can remember being panic-stricken, what if I had a flat tire or ran out of gas? I did have OnStar but I only had the emergency part activated. I pulled off on the side of the road and added minutes to the calling feature. I figured that I would at least be able to call someone if I needed them. After I entered in all my credit card information and got it all set up I was happy, for a little while at least. After about an hour went by I decided to try it out and see if it worked. Nope, it didn’t work. I waited another 30 minutes and tried again. Nope, it didn’t work. Finally, I called OnStar and asked them what was the problem. They informed me that it took up to 4 days to activate the system!!! What, I would be back home by that time. I made it to Livingston and then back home and I didn’t die because I didn’t have a phone. But I can tell you that I have never forgotten my phone since then. If I ever do forget it, I will be turning around and going back to the house. 50 IS NOT OLD | WHY YOU NEED AN OVERSIZED TOPI am in love with this color blue. I would call this a medium blue or even a denim blue. This is a cashmere wide neck top and it is sooo soft. I am a huge fan of oversized tops because they hide a slew of body flaws, (aka as tummy bulges) and they leave a lot to the imagination. I am betting on your imagination thinking that I am smaller under this top than I really am. Lol! This is one that I bought at the overstock store in town and I think the brand was Isaac Mizrahi. I have several more of these top, except with a mock turtleneck, and I have worn them here and here50 IS NOT OLD | WHY YOU NEED AN OVERSIZED TOPEven though my hair is over my ears, I am still going to tell you what earrings I have on. They are the Attina earrings and they are antique bronze colored knots which match my necklace. How do you like my Krystal necklace? I just got this about a week ago and I had no idea how cute it was when I ordered it. It is much larger than I thought it was going to be and the blue stone is more brilliant than I thought. The wording is, “Faith it till you make it.” You can see it better in the picture below.50 IS NOT OLD | WHY YOU NEED AN OVERSIZED TOPIn the picture above the Isabelle necklace is turned around backward and in this picture, the stone from the Krystal necklace is turned backward. I couldn’t find one picture where both of them were facing the right direction. I am not the best photographer. Lol! I really do like the Isabelle necklace though. This is a good picture of the details on the door knocker design and you can see how large the crystal drop it. I think the white stitching really makes these Vigoss jeans special. I have got to where I wear skinny jeans most of the time but I like the look of these bootcut jeans with the wine colored suede ankle booties. I buy my Vigoss jeans from Maurice’s most of the time. They go on sale quite often so be on the lookout and buy a couple of pairs. The suede ankle boots are by Isaac Mizrahi and I have had them for a couple of years. I don’t wear them a lot but they add a real punch when I get them out. 50 IS NOT OLD | WHY YOU NEED AN OVERSIZED TOPThis is an actual email I received yesterday from one of my customers:

I have a question. Looking at your pictures, it looks like some of your lines have gone away. I hope I am not offending you )))) I am a couple years older than you, so I have ALL of them, for sure. So, are you using fillers and Botox, besides the R&F? I am talking specifically about the marionette lines, the lines that come off the corners of the mouth toward the chin. You spoke about them in your makeup video, but I don’t see them anymore. I know this is a personal question. I also feel like I am putting you in a bad place, asking you. So, if you would rather not answer, that is ok ? I am just nosy. Your skin looks really, really good!!
Anyway, thanks so much,

I was NOT offended at all! I was so PLEASED!!! I have NEVER used Botox or had any fillers. Rodan + Fields is better and way less painful than those options. There will be a ZOOM opportunity call on Thursday night at 6pm PST/7pm MT/8pm CST/9pm EST. ZOOM is a free app that you download on any device and then you hit the Join A Meeting button and type in 4233744806. There will be lots of other people on the call so you don’t have to feel like you will be pressured in any way. You can mute your audio and hide your video if you want to just listen in. HOWEVER, if you will email me afterward that you were on the call and send me your address then I will send you a mini facial with the NEW Intensive Renewing Serum.

Have you ever wondered why I would ask you to sign up for my email subscription? I know that you may access me from another way like FaceBook or Instagram but “brands” like to see a large email subscription list. So, I am asking you to sign up if you don’t mind, it would really help me. The comment section is at the end of the post, so keep scrolling. I look forward to reading all the comments, they make my day. Be sure to follow me on PinterestTwitterInstagramYouTube, and Facebook.

  1. I love that top! Since I tend to carry a lot of my weight around my middle, I’m a big fan of oversized tops that help camoflauge that area.

  2. Bootcut jeans are very flattering on you! You should definitely wear them more often than the skinnies!

Great outfit! I was crushed when I got to the Maurice’s in Goldsboro, North Carolina, on my vacation in September and discovered it had closed. We don’t have Maurice’s where I live, so I always looked forward to shopping there on my NC trips.

You have a knack for putting outfits together and adding all the accessories , which completes the outfit. Even purse and shoes, love it!!! Thank you for your blog , I just started being a fan! You remind me of myself , but due to my beloved parents passing within a 15 month period, resigning from my job, and just a few other issues, I guess I have just lost myself and have been in a funk . But thanks to you, pictures, ideas, inspiration, Sunday posts, I am coming back. Thank you! I am getting my fashion on and counting my blessings daily.
