Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2025: Try-On #3 – Now Open to Everyone!
It’s finally here, public access to the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale! If you’ve been waiting for your turn to shop, now is the time. This is my third and final try-on for this year’s sale, and I’ve saved some great pieces for last. These are the kinds of outfits you can start wearing now, even while it’s still warm, and then carry right into fall with just a few small tweaks. Every look includes a mix of stylish staples and comfy favorites that work well for women over 50, whether you’re headed out to lunch, running errands, or just want to feel put-together for the day.
Once again, my DIL, Stephanie, is joining me in this try-on haul. She is 5’3″ and typically wears a size small or 26/27 in jeans. I’m 5’6″, in between a medium and a large, and wear a size 8 or 29 in pants. Whether you’re petite, over 50, or just looking for clothes that flatter and feel good, there’s something here for you.

A Graphic Tee That’s Anything But Basic
I didn’t expect to love this look as much as I did, but the minute I put it on, I felt like the cool version of myself. The T-Shirt is soft and roomy without being oversized, and I love the graphic of the hawk in flight.
Barrel Leg Jeans can be tricky, and I’m still not sure that they are right for me. I like that this pair hits in all the right places, high-waisted, relaxed through the leg, and raw at the hem. They aren’t overly barrel-legged, but I still feel like I look like I’ve been riding a horse. I slipped on these Steve Madden Dessa Mules and grabbed the structured Faux Leather Tote, which elevated the look from a basic casual outfit.
Neutrals That Know No Season
This outfit is everything I want in an early fall look: soft neutrals, cozy textures, and pieces that make you feel pulled together without even trying. The Cable Stitch Sweater is lightweight but has that lovely cable stitching that gives it visual interest without bulk.
These Cropped Wide Leg Jeans hit right about the ankle and have the perfect wide leg, not too dramatic, just enough movement. And those Knee High Suede Boots? They’re the kind that make you excited about cooler weather. I finished the look with a slouchy Suede Hobo Bag that adds just the right touch of fall softness.
Cashmere, but Make It Casual
This Short Sleeve Cashmere Sweater is one of those pieces that you can wear all fall and winter. It feels amazing against the skin and layers beautifully under jackets or cardigans later on.
The Patch Pocket Palazzo Jeans balance things out with their wide leg and flattering rise, and the patch pockets add a fun twist. The Harness Boots toughen it up just enough, and that Leather Hobo Bag is the kind of classic you’ll carry for years. I’d wear this for lunch out, church, or a casual dinner, anytime you want to look put together without being fussy.
Petite-Proof and Polished
This one’s for my petite friends, or anyone who likes a tailored look that doesn’t feel tight. The Cutaway Vest has a flattering scoop neck and just enough structure to define your waist.
The Petite Palazzo Jeans are perfectly proportioned (no hemming, thank you very much), and the Double Buckle Mary Jane Mules add a sweet, modern edge. This is the kind of outfit you wear when you want to look chic without trying too hard, perfect for casual Fridays or daytime events.
Softly Structured and So Easy to Wear
This outfit is one of those quiet heroes. The short-sleeve sweater is a dreamy wool-cashmere blend that’s soft, breathable, and drapes just right. I paired it with a gorgeous pair of Cropped Wide Leg Jeans that Stephanie and I both loved. Add in the Suede Hobo Bag and those Western Harness Boots, and you’ve got an outfit that works whether you’re running errands or heading out for an early dinner. It looks refined but doesn’t feel precious.
A Touch of Romance with Room to Breathe
This one just makes me smile. The Pointelle Polo Sweater is light and feminine, and the subtle texture gives it charm without being fussy. The Floral Midi Skirt floats when you walk, and the length is perfect for those of us who like coverage without going full maxi. I added a Block Heel Sandal from Vionic that is supportive enough to walk in all day. If you’ve got a brunch, shower, or day out on the calendar, this is the outfit I’d reach for.
Your Weekend Uniform Just Got an Upgrade
You know those weekends when you want to be comfy but still feel like you at least tried? This is the outfit for that. The Relaxed Sweater is cozy without being sloppy. The Cuffed Ankle Wide Leg Jeans give off a casual, modern vibe, and those Western Harness Boots are back again because they work with everything. It’s easy, cute, and perfect for just about anything from tailgating to antiquing.
A Fresh Twist on Fall Denim
This look ended up being one of my unexpected favorites. The Denim Vest is just the right mix of structure and softness; it adds a little something extra without making you overheat. I paired it with these brown Patch Pocket Raw Hem Crop Flare Wide Leg Jeans, and I love how the garment-dyed color gives them a richer, more fall-forward feel than your standard blue denim. The cropped flare hits at a flattering spot on the leg, making it easy to show off the Western-style boots, and the Suede Hobo Bag keeps the whole outfit feeling relaxed but polished. This one feels perfect for early fall days when you’re easing into layers but not quite ready for full sweaters.
A Power Look That Feels Like You
When I want to feel confident and polished, I go for structure, and this blazer delivers. The plaid is classic fall, but not too heavy. I layered it over a sleeveless Turtleneck Sweater Vest so you don’t feel bulky underneath, and paired it with these Trouser Style Jeans that give off serious “I’ve got this” energy. Add boots, and you’ve got a smart, pulled-together outfit for work or any day you want to channel your inner boss lady.
Making a Tee Feel Chic
If you’ve ever thought a Ribbed T-Shirt wasn’t for you, try this one. It’s soft and flattering, and layering it under this Plaid Blazer makes it feel elevated. The Tripper jeans have just the right amount of flare and are great for showing off a fun boot. This is one of those “I didn’t overthink it” looks that is stylish and flattering.
Lounging Without Looking Frumpy
There’s nothing like an oversized tee on a laid-back day, but this one is a step above your old college T-shirt. The soft cotton drapes beautifully, and the cheerful graphic adds a little fun.
The jeans have a slight kick flare that gives them a modern edge, and they’re made from a stretchy, soft-tech fabric that feels great all day. I slipped on the Double Buckle Mary Janes to give it a touch of structure, and just like that, I’m comfy enough to lounge but cute enough to run out and grab a coffee. Sometimes, simple is best.

Honestly I don’t understand all the Nordstrom sale hype. Every year it looks like the same old same old. Nothing real exiting and I don’t think the sale prices are that great. Just my opinion. That being said, these posts with you and your dil are fun to see.😊

😃 The two of you tried on so many great pieces. It’s obvious that both of you found items that had to go home with you. The one thing that I’ve learned to do when placing an order, is to order two sizes since you don’t always know what size will work the best. I really like the sunshine tee and am going to give it a closer look. I’ve ordered a pair of skinny jeans to see if the legs are a bit more roomy than they used to be. I also ordered a Caslon cropped swing jacket, sneakers that have arch support, black jeans, cropped wide leg jeans, and a white tee that has a pleat in the back.

What a great part 3! My favorite looks on you and Stephanie were the short sleeve sweater and jeans styles and the blazer styles. I had access to the NAS yesterday and got the few items I wanted – all accessories, but I did buy one piece of clothing, a maxi dress, hoping it will fit and not be too long. 🙂
