Today was crazy beautiful! It was sunny and warm which was fantastic! Ashleigh took us “Out The Road” which is the actual name of the area we went to. The reason we went to that area was to watch the Chum Salmon 6- hour opening. Ashleigh’s boyfriend, Andy, is the captain of a commercial fishing boat and he was one of the 100 boats that were vying for the Salmon.
This is a panoramic view from the shore where we were watching some of the boats. The mountains in the background are called the ChillKats. We were told the way to remember the name was to think the opposite of HotDog. Lol!!!
Ashleigh took us down to the shoreline and it was very rocky. The huge rocks were flat and smooth so they made pretty comfortable seats. We had to hike down to the area so Ashleigh made me put on a pair of her hiking boots. I don’t know why she thought my high heel boots wouldn’t work. Haha This is a very outdoor type community. There is a lot of hiking in this area so a good pair of hiking boots is something you need.
This lake was right beside the channel where the boats were. It was so gorgeous that I told Ashleigh this was the perfect setting for my pictures. I think this is going to be my new FaceBook cover picture. When you visit Alaska everywhere you look is a setting that is beautiful. You can stop the car and walk into the woods and it is unreal beautiful, it is just crazy.
Even though we were going to watch the boats I still wanted to put on some jewelry. I just feel naked now if I don’t have on mascara, lipstick, and jewelry. Lol! The necklace and bracelet were part of a new special from Plunder. I just got it about a week ago but I don’t see it on the specials tab anymore. I don’t know if they have sold out and they will be getting more in or if it is gone for good. Be sure to always check out the specials when you go shopping on plunderdesign.com/taniastephens
It was fairly warm today with temperatures in the high 60’s or low 70’s so I didn’t need a coat but I did want a little something on my arms. A light sweatshirt was perfect for today and because I still wanted to be stylish I wore one that I bought a couple of months ago. It has slits up the sleeves and they refer to is as distressed. I am sure the rocks, flowers, and the lake appreciated my efforts. Lol!
Joe and I have not been training for this trip. If you are going to visit Alaska you need to start walking now and don’t stop until it is time to go. Lol! I swear that when we get home we are going to keep up this habit of walking. We make all kinds of excuses why we don’t walk. I am too busy, I don’t feel good, it is raining, etc. Now all I hear is blah, blah, blah. Hold my feet to the fire and ask me if I am walking when we get back. You see us both sporting sunglasses too. Believe me, you had better remember to buy a good pair of sunglasses also when you visit. Even though it rains a lot when the sun is out it is bright. It also reflects off of the snow and ice on the mountains making it really bright. Joe has a pair of Costa Del Mars on and I am wearing a pair of Maui Jims.
The gray pants are a pair of corduroy pants from Maurices. They were soft and lightweight which was perfect for today’s adventure.
I am embarking on a new adventure with Rodan + Fields. It is a very intense training course that may be more than I can handle. But, I do like a challenge so I am going to give it my all. I had two ladies join me and the “Doctors” in business yesterday. This is a perk of having an online business, you can work it from anywhere. If you move the business goes with you and there is no need to relocate an office. I know a lot of you think you are too busy, too shy, or maybe even too old, but I can tell you that none of that is true. The real truth is that YOU can do ANYTHING you want. It is a matter of WANT. I WANT better-looking skin, I WANT to make others feel good about themselves, I WANT to be able to retire in comfort, I WANT to help YOU retire in comfort, I WANT so, therefore, I am willing to DO. What are you willing to do to get what you WANT? Join me in this journey and I promise that “I” will do everything I can to help YOU get what you WANT!!! Email me with any questions you might have.
Do you know what my number one referrer page is? It is Pinterest! I truly appreciate every time you “pin” a picture. Heck, pin ALL the pictures if you want. Lol! Also, if you would like to share my posts on Facebook or Twitter, I would appreciate that. It helps get my blog out to more people, and I am sure you just want to spread the entertaining sayings I have. Lol! The comment section is at the end of the post, so keep scrolling. I look forward to reading all the comments, they make my day.
This looks fabulous, enjoy your fishing trip. The only time I went fishing was with my Dad. We didn’t catch anything so bought a tin of sardines on the way home, unpacked them and hastily wrapped them in newspaper to proudly present to my Mum as our catch of the day…do you think she believed us???
Have a post about whats coming for Fall based on Berlin Fashion Week – I think you will love the new trends xoxo
I love that you wore a necklace, Tania!! We are doing a series about accessories and we had to take some photos without accessories. And my mom, (my 70+ model on the blog), said she felt naked without them!! It’s funny the habits we get into, huh??
