Pop Of Color
How’s this for a pop of color? Even though it is still officially winter, thanks Punxsutawney Phil, I am craving some “spring” looks. I already have my spring manicure, and now I have a beautiful hot pink purse, thanks to my hubby. (Valentine’s present) I don’t care that it looks a little out-of-place with the bulky sweater, that’s how I roll. Lol!
It is even time for the drunken snowman to go back in storage. My “S” is still under construction, so I am scouring the house for something else to hang on the wall. I am sure there is something that would work out in one of the storage sheds, but since it is still about 15 degrees outside, I am not going to go spend 15 minutes looking for something. I am just going to stay in the house, and sit in front of the fire.
This cardigan is another thrift store find. I haven’t been thrifting in a really long time, and I hope to remedy that soon. This cardigan is a man’s sweater, but that doesn’t stop me, and it shouldn’t stop you. Go ahead and raid your husband’s, brother’s, or best friend’s closet, you never know what you will find. Here is where I wore the cardigan earlier, not a lot different. This sweater is very similar, but would probably not have all the bulk that mine has. And here is the plus size version.
How do you like my Vera Bradley purse that Joe bought me? The one he didn’t know he bought! Hahaha I don’t think I have ever had a Vera purse, I have tote’s, scarves, eyeglass cases, and wallets. But, I have never been a huge fan of the printed purse. I had no idea that you could even get a leather purse by Vera. (we are on first name basis) My mouth dropped open when I saw it, and I think a little drool might have eeked out. I will tell you now, that I did not pay anything close to that price. Mine was less than half of that price, so if you are interested, it would be worth finding an outlet.
The necklace is by Premier designs. I like that it is so versatile with all the different colors. It was a little long for this outfit, so I took the chain and tied a knot in it. I have on a shirt with a collar and a cardigan, so no one is the wiser. Well almost no one, since all of you now know. Haha Here is a link to Ebay with a buy it now option for the necklace.
The belt just had to go, I am just not feeling like being confined today. I may not look as stylish, but I feel cooler. Really cooler, who knew that having the sweater belted tightly against my body would have been so much warmer. All together now, duhhhhh!
If you have followed my blog for a while, you know how I like to hang on to my clothes for years. Here, and here. My youngest child is 26, and the shirt I have on is a maternity shirt. Now, it is your turn to shut your mouth. Haha Here is a shirt from Old Navy, and here is one from Amazon that comes in every color in the rainbow.
It is a good thing I have a pop of color in this outfit, otherwise I just blend right into the wall. Note to self, check the paint color of your background when picking out a cardigan.
Today I am linking up with Jen from Fashionably Employed. She left me a comment and graciously invited me to take part in her link-up. How sweet is that? Let’s show her some “gurl” love, and check out her site. Also, Style Nudge, More Pieces of Me, and Not Dead Yet Style. Check these ladies out.The comment section is at the end of the post, so keep scrolling. I look forward to reading all the comments, they make my day.

I loved the belt. I would have tried the belt on the shirt. Would that have been wrong?? But as always you are stylin!!
That might have worked, Debra. I have tried that with a poncho, I don’t know why it wouldn’t work with a cardigan. I’ll put that in my “next time” file.?
I love these layers and totally think the pop of color works! That bag is great! I’m sure you will get a ton of use! And funny! I got some shoes that the husband doesn’t know he got me! 🙂

Those are the best kind of presents, Carylee?
Glad you ditched the belt! It just was not doing a thing for the outfit! Did not know Vera had leather bags! Never cared for the print purses, but the pink is very cute! I wouldn’t be hunting in that shed yet either! The snowman can stick around a few more weeks!
I found something in my daughters room, and will be using it in the next couple of shots. Hopefully it will work.
A girl after my own heart! I have clothes in my closet that I’ve had since my freshman year of college.. I’ve now been teaching for 25 years. ?. I just can’t let them go because I just might need them someday. Lol. My husband disagrees! I’m also a huge fan of thrifting, so I love it when I find others that do as well. I really enjoy reading you’re blog. Have a great day!
Welcome to the blog, Tracey. It is so fun when you find people who like the same things.
I’m with you ; don’t throw anything out! It seems fashion keeps recycling itself. In the early 1980’s I got rid of a pair of Frye boots and I’m still in mourning over them. I love some of my Vera Bradley accessories especially the dual eyeglass case. It holds my readers and a pair of sunglasses. I am so hooked on them so I hit the outlets when I can to pick up some extra ones. I have given them as gifts cause friends always ask where I found them. Have you found the older you get the more glasses you acquire? Readers, sunglasses, driving glasses, driving glasses when it’s dark, when it’s raining, when the sun is out, glasses for the movies….ugh!
Linda, I have never seen the dual case. I will need to check that out. When I go shopping I usually have one pair of glasses propped on my head, and one on my nose. I am sure I look comical.
LOVE your outfit!! I really need to go thrifting! And I really need to visit the QVC shop in your town. I wish this post was yesterday as we were at the Outlets in Sevierville & I walked right past the Vera store 🙁
I love this bag!! Does it come in other colors? Have a great day!
It did come in other colors. It seems like I remember a blue and an orange. Maybe even more colors, and it came in different sizes also.
Love that Vera Bradley bag! I don’t have an outlet near me, so I might have to splurge with some Christmas money I still have left. I have always tended to go for a smaller purse but I always end up not having enough room. This one looks like the perfect size. Tania, you look fab and your comments are so clever and funny. I start my day with your blog and a good cup of coffee!
Thanks so much Cindy. I will try to not make you spit out your coffee while you are reading my blog.
I like the ‘pop of color’. This is a great sweater Cindi just styled. It’s a similar idea.

I saw last night that Cyndi had worn a similar sweater. She is so sweet and cute. She makes EVERYTHING look good.
I have only seen patterned Vera Bradley purses too which for me is fine for other accessories. Love the color, a nice pop to a casual outfit. I really like the look of boots and jeans and this looks great on you – minus the belt. Have a good day.
Yeah, that belt had to go?
I’m really liking the purse. I didn’t know there was a leather option. I’m like you, I have other Vera Bradley items, but I never bought a purse. I’d love to find a red or royal blue one! There’s a Vera Bradley outlet at Opry Mills in Nashville, so I will have to investigate that! Have a great week!
Nashville had the best outlets!
