When I was a kid I can remember going over this little hill and the car feeling like it left the ground. It was so much fun and we used to beg Dad to take the road that had that little hill so that we could “fly.” That hill was known as “Thrill Hill” and I can see where it got its name. On the way home last Wednesday, Joe decided to take a different route than we normally take. We came to a railroad crossing that he wasn’t aware had a hill associated with it. I was looking down on my phone and looked up at the last second to see us go airborne. I thought the truck was going to bottom out we hit so hard. My stomach even did that little somersault thing that it does on a roller coaster. He looked so surprised that I had to start laughing. All the memories of Thrill Hill came flooding back to me. Lol!!!Isn’t this a cute top? I bought this at the overstock store in town about a month ago. It is Linea by Louis Dell’Olio and it has the most vibrant green embroidery on it. I like the crispness of the top. It has all the things I look for in a top, it has unique details, pockets, a v-neck, a tunic length, and it is a nice weight. This top comes in several colors so be sure to check it out. I am wearing a size small although a medium would work too. I got up and told Joe that I was going to check the size of my top. He said that he had always heard “size matters.” Lol! What am I going to do with that man???
I just got the Shaila earrings from Plunder Design. My daughter absolutely loves the Noah lanyard and asked for another one just in case the one she has gets broken. I took her a new one and also these earrings that match the necklace perfectly. She loved them, I knew she would. The Valerie bracelet I have on is so cute with all its dangling pearls. I like that it is on an elastic cord so you can put it on very easily. I wear the Noah necklace with several different pendants such as the Mermaid and the Peacock.
If you are interested in purchasing or signing up with Plunder, go to www.plunderdesign.com/taniastephens.
This green satchel is several years old. I bought it at TJ Maxx and I carried it nonstop the first summer I had it. Look at the edges of the purse, I think I got my money’s worth out of this. Hahaha!
I love my Aerosole wedge shoes. These are my go-to shoes if I can’t decide on anything else. They are comfortable and they are a neutral color. I feel like I can wear these with anything. A wedge shoe is one of the easiest heels to wear for comfort. If you don’t normally wear a high heel but want something a little dressier than a flat shoe you need to try a wedge heel.
In the summer months, I like wearing crop pants. I especially like the Pixie pants from Old Navy. They fit great, they come in a wide variety of colors, and they wash up well. This pair is several years old and still looks fine. If the Pixie pants is the kind with spandex then I size up and if they are the chino style then I buy my normal size.
There were a ton of comments for the free Rodan + Fields Active Hydration Serum. I asked SIRI to pick the winner and she picked Linda Aime!!! Linda, you will be getting an email from me soon. Congratulations!!!
But wait, I also had a ton of comments on yesterday’s blog post. I can’t tell you how tickled I was to see all the comments that you read my post all the way through. I did the same type experiment with Woman’s Club one time. I was the state Fundraising chairman and I had to do an article for the magazine that is published 2 to 3 times a year. I started feeling like no one was actually reading it so I wrote that I was giving away a 50.00 gift certificate to a club and all they had to do to enter was email me and let me know they wanted to enter. NO ONE ENTERED!!! That was not the case yesterday though!!! Woohoo! So, I searched through my excess jewelry and I found TWO of the pink earrings so we have two winners instead of one. I had several ladies comment on my Facebook page so I picked a winner from the blog comments and one from the Facebook comments. They are Susane Lancaster and from Facebook is was Lory Stucky. Please, please, please share my posts on Facebook so that I can grow my blog!!!
Thank you gurls so much for joining me on this journey. It has been a learning experience for me and I hope for you too. I would never have dreamed that I would have a blog with so many new friends 22 months ago. And I want you to know that I do read every comment. I make sure I have time to do that. I may not comment because of time but I really do read them. If you need to ask me something and I don’t respond then send me an email. fiftyisnotold@gmail.com
Do you know what my number one referrer page is? It is Pinterest! I truly appreciate every time you “pin” a picture. Heck, pin ALL the pictures if you want. Lol! Also, if you would like to share my posts on Facebook or Twitter, I would appreciate that. It helps get my blog out to more people, and I am sure you just want to spread the entertaining sayings I have. Lol! The comment section is at the end of the post, so keep scrolling. I look forward to reading all the comments, they make my day.
I loved this story today! During my childhood, we had a dirt road a few miles from my grandma’s house that had several large hills on it. That might not sound very interesting to some, but to a young Kansas youngster living on the flat prairie, it was an amazing find! Grandma would bundle a bunch of us grandkids in her car & she’d drive pretty fast down that dirt road – so fast that we nicknamed it “Rollercoaster Road.” I have fond memories of my sweet Grandma driving us up & down Rollercoater Road, just for fun! Thanks for rekindling that memory for me!
