RICH SOFT AND COZY

May is here! This is almost always my favorite month of the year. It is my birthday month! At my age, it is not about the presents. I don’t really need anything and I want for very little. However, I am always thrilled that I am blessed to be alive for another year. Life is not always pretty or fun but I love being able to experience every moment of it. My birthday rolls around on Mother’s Day this year. That doesn’t happen very often but this year I get to celebrate a “two-fer!” Haha! What was the best birthday present you ever got? I know what my Mom’s was, it was her sister being born on her birthday. She might not have thought that when she was 5 and her Mom was having her sister but now as she is older I bet she can appreciate the gift more. Lol! The funny thing is that I can’t really remember a lot of my birthday presents over my lifetime. How can that be? I am sure I was thrilled with the item at the time but now it is not even a memory. I thought I was going to get a great birthday present this year. Rodan and Fields were supposed to launch into Australia on my birthday. I thought I was going to get three new business partners for my birthday and I was super excited! However, due to the website issues, R+F have decided to push back the launch until all the glitches have been worked out. I would much rather they wait until everything works smoothly but I am still disappointed that it is not going to be my birthday present. ?
Purple has been one of my favorite colors this year. I have never been a huge purple fan but this year it has taken over my wardrobe. I am literally drawn toward this color in almost every hue. This is a very vibrant purple but I also like lilac and orchids. This top is by Susan Graver and it is perfect for just throwing on and feeling comfortable. This is the type top that looks good without even trying. I think it is the material that looks “rich” but it is so soft and cozy. I usually refer to these type tops as “slinky” and I am careful not to have them fit too close to the body. I don’t want them attaching themselves to my bumps and lumps that I don’t want to be highlighted.

Aren’t these the cutest earrings? I love the knot design and the gunmetal color. I can really appreciate that they are lightweight. I don’t have an issue with heavier earrings but sometimes my ears will hurt after I have a pair on that is heavy. I know some of you have commented that your holes have stretched but these will not be an issue for you. These earrings are called Judy, Judy, Judy. Okay, maybe just one Judy, but you have to admit that would have been cute. Lol! The Bib necklace is one that I wore the other day (here) look at how different it looks in this post. When I wore it with a print it didn’t show up as much but it really shines in this post. I like when you wear this how it has some movement in the chain fringe. It is called Katie, Katie, Katie. It is just not the same. Haahaha! The smaller bracelet with the black face says’s “Big God” and the larger one says “With brave wings she flies.” I couldn’t find that one on the website so it must have been retired. All of my cloisonne bangles came from Juneau Alaska. I bought them when I visited my daughter several years ago. She has been fussing that it is about time I made the trip again. I would love to visit her but I cringe when I think of the trip, it is very, very long. Emma Fox is one of my favorite handbag designers. I love her creations but be fair warned they are heavy. I know when you use good materials that they are substantial and usually heavy but when I put all my essentials (aka as junk) in the bag it weighs a ton. Black is a color that you can carry anytime of the year. I will carry it even in the summer as well as in the winter.

I admit that I like these shoes with this outfit. I am not always a fan of the cut-off at the ankle look but I like it today. I don’t know if it is because the design in the pants looks like it matches the design in the shoes or if is because of the shoe style. Either way, I like it. Lol! These have a small wedge heel and that makes it easier and more comfortable for walking long distances. This pair is by Nine & Company.

I bought this pair of crop pants just the other day at Cato Fashions in town. I don’t have a lot of shopping opportunities locally so I am appreciative that Cato is nearby. I was talking with the ladies from Australia the other day and I asked them where the nearest mall was to them. They said about 5 minutes down the road. Then they asked how far the mall was from where I lived and were shocked when I said at least 2 hours away. They thought I lived in a fairly populated area. Lol! I will have to take pictures one day of where I live. I am sure it would be a real “eye opener” for a lot of you.

For my birthday month, I want to give you something instead of getting presents. Each week on Friday I will be giving away something small. I am sure it will be Plunder or Rodan and Fields related since those are products I have in stock. It is hard for me to express how grateful I am that these companies came into my life. I find it hard to believe that everyone doesn’t want to join in this journey. I felt the same way when I was President of my local woman’s club. I could not figure out why any woman would not want to be a part of an organization that helps other women. That is exactly how I feel about Plunder and Rodan and Fields. Plunder is a jewelry company that goes to extremes to promote women and friendships. Rodan and Fields is a skincare company that has changed so many peoples lives by giving them great skin. If you had ever talked to some of these ladies who had terrible acne or rosacea and are now able to go out in public without makeup you would understand.
