SMALL WARDROBE STYLE CHALLENGE
It is time for day 2 of the small wardrobe style challenge. If you did not see yesterday’s post, go here, and see how I styled a plain gray sweater and a pair of maroon pants. I told my sister on the telephone this morning that I was worried about doing this post. I was afraid everyone would say, “Come on already, we’ve seen the sweater and pants, show us something different.” I couldn’t have been more wrong! You gurls are so supportive with this challenge. I only hope that I can pull it off. Lol!
Before we continue, I have just got to show you this!!! I went to the mailbox this afternoon and there was a package inside addressed to me. I didn’t get too excited because Joe is the Ebay KING. The account is in my name, so I get packages all the time but they are really his. When I saw the return address was from South Africa I started doing a happy dance. You should have heard me squeal. Petra, a follower, emailed me quite a while back just to say hi. In her email, I noticed that she had a web page, so I decided to check it out. I saw that she had gorgeous handmade greeting cards and I emailed her asking if she sold the cards. I offered to put her cards on the blog and see if others would be interested in purchasing her cards. She was thrilled that I liked her cards, but she had never sold them, she only gives them out to friends. A couple weeks later she asked for my address, so I thought she was going to send me a card.
I was blown away when I opened the package and saw all the goodies. She sent me loads of beautiful cards, a couple tea towels and a table top scarf that she had made, plus some chocolate! Oh my goodness, I was speechless. I have had companies gift me with items, but they want something in return. I think this is the first time I have ever received something from a reader just because they liked my blog. I will admit that I shed a tear or two. Thank you, Petra, you made my day?
I changed my jewelry, purse, and shoes, this is what I mean by subtle wardrobe changes. I added a topper piece, and the whole look is now different.
The plaid jacket is fairly new, I bought it a couple weeks ago at Cato Fashions. This is a perfect jacket for the fall, it is lightweight and the colors just scream fall. I wore this same blazer/jacket a couple weeks ago with a pencil skirt, see here. You can dress this jacket up or wear it casual, and since it is on sale for 15.99, you had better hop on over and see if they still have your size. Haha
For my treat from Rodan and Fields, I will give a mini eye cream to anyone who becomes a PC before the end of the month. If you would like to sign up as a consultant and you purchase a 395.00 kit, then I will gift you with a full-size Multi-Function Eye Cream, a retail value of 62.00. Go for one of the bigger kits, and I will gift you the brand new Lash Boost Holiday special, a 150.00 retail value. To order go to: www.tstephens5.myrandf.com or to sign up as a consultant go to www.tstephens5.myrandf.biz
As a little Plunder Halloween Special, I am offering treats and no tricks to you. Everyone who places an order over 50.00 from Plunder (excluding tax and shipping) will receive a pair of earrings from me. If you sign up as a consultant under me, then I will send you a Paige bracelet. To place an order go to: www.plunderdesign.com/party/taniastephens

Love your posts! Also wondering…does Petra have a website for her cards? 😉
I don’t think so. She mostly makes the cards for the pleasure of giving them away.
Omg you look AMAZING in that jacket!!! Thanks for sharing!
Tania i love you you take simple wardrobe staples that we probably all have in our closets that might be boring on their own and use them in a way that makes them special! You have me looking through my own closet to see what i can wear together to make something more appealing than just a standard pair of pants and top together! thanks for the effort and energy you put into doing this for us gurls! keep them coming, the new girl in my office told me yesterday “you have to cutest clothes! i love how you accessorize” that’s thanks to you Tania!! made my day ?
That is so nice, Amy! Don’t you just love compliments? Here’s the thing, you have lots of others who will think the same thing but not say something. It makes you have a spring in your step, and you feel like putting more effort into your attire when someone comments. You made my day, too.
Hi, Tania!!! Oh, you are such a sweetheart to show my cards on your blog and I’m so happy that it all arrived safely!!!!! I had such fun creating it for you and since the last time we’ve chatted I’ve actually started an Etsy shop!!!!! I was lucky enough to get a stall at the craft market of a local church and I’m busy making all sorts of items to sell!!!! The craft market will run from 5 – 21 Dec and I hope to have good sales and earn a few Rands to shop for some more crafting goodies!!!!
Summer is on it’s way to our part of the world and we have some lovely days at the moment!!!!
As always, I love your outfit for today and WOW, I always admire your wonderful jewelry!!!!!
Keep well and have a great day!!!!
Hugz
Petra, the cards were beautiful!!! I never doubted that you would be accepted in the craft market, your cards are so well done. I am proud that you have started an ETSY shop, you need to let us know what the name of the shop is so we can visit you. Thank you again, you have no idea how happy they made me.??
Tania, I try not to miss a day on your blog and am so glad that I subscribed. Your style challenge has given me another reason to revisit my closet. I probably have things where all I would need is one new piece to give it a whole new look and purpose. If everyone is like me they have odds and ends to outfits where one part of it doesn’t fit or something has gotten a stain. Now, finding other ways to wear these random pieces is a challenge that I am using your style ideas to accomplish. God Bless You and keep up your great work for all of us who are style challenged.
Tania, I love this challenge and the different ways you can style 2 basic pieces of clothing. At the end of your week of styling, would you be able to put all 7 photos on your blog so they can be seen altogether side by side for comparison vs having to go back to the previous day? That would be helpful for me and perhaps others. Thank you!
Tania this is great! I just LOVE the ideas and variations- keep em coming!!?
I’m so not a bucket bag woman myself, Tania, but that colour is a wee bit hard to resist, I agree 🙂 and your necklace!!! I don’t wear necklaces very often because I always end up with a rash but dear style lords in heaven, I’d go through some itch for that piece xoxo
Complete success on both outfits! I’m copying yesterday’s look today with what I have in my closet. I really appreciate this challenge, since my retirement wardrobe (and clothing budget) are small. Many thanks!!
I love this jacket and Cato is a great store for inexpensive pieces. One thing I love about it is how the store is setup to be color matching. Need something Red? Then they group all the red things in spots, so you don’t have to search and search! It’s hard for me to pay a lot of money on pieces, while I know you get what you pay for my thinking is I’d rather have lots of variety for one season vs. limited for several seasons.
A subtle change made an entire wardrobe difference. How kind of Perta, and the cards are just beautiful!
Good morning! Wow, you certainly had a fun day yesterday! How special to receive such a gift of love from as far away as Africa! You are blessed! I loved the cards too! And we are blessed by your posts every morning – I so look forward to them & your comments. It’s like we’re visiting! I LOVE that necklace too! And the boots are fabulous!
I rec’d the Rodan & Fields gift you sent me & thank you SO MUCH! I really loved the Micro-dermabrasion paste! it made my face feel like a baby’s skin! What a treat!
Wow, you wear the best necklaces!
Also, those cards are beautiful!!!! How sweet of her!
Thanks for hosting the link up:)
Love the change. Love the jacket. Had a plaid one should have kept it. Lol
You did great on your 2nd day! I really didn’t realize you were wearing the same top until I started reading. I love the challenge One of my problems, even though I have plenty of cloths is just wearing the same thing all the time. It’s nice to have you looking at things in a different way. It’s inspiring to mix things up. It was wonderful of Petra to send you that and wonderful of you to show it on the blog. Keep up the great work,
I really enjoyed today’s post. Petra is very talented, and super nice too! Love your accessorizing, (boots, bag, jacket) with keeping the same basics! An entirely different but still great look! Two thumbs up!??
I think this is a realistic challenge because most of us can relate.
A lot of my weekly series is sorta structured this way, where we wear an item 3 different times. I do that because when I buy something, I like to know options of how to wear it!!
What a fabulous gift from your reader—you are truly blessed!

I LOVE your blog and I love the outfits, jewelry, and handbags. Of course it doesn’t hurt that you’re gorgeous too! I have no idea how you do all you do. You must never stop for a break. I am much older than you but you inspire me!
Love the jacket! Those colors are great. I really like the boots too. I read the reviews on them and noticed that one shopper said that they ran a little small but loves them. Did they seem true to size to you? Good job on the variation.
This is a great job on a different look. The boots are great. When I saw your bag’s color, I knew you were tying it to the necklace. You can pull it off with your confidence. It shows in all your pictures. I’d probably second guess myself after I left the house, then try to hide the purse behind my back the rest of my day!
Those cards are exquisite. A friend made me a dozen for my 60th birthday. It’s taken me three years to finally use the last one because I hated to give them away.
This jacket is just adorable. Love the way you pulled this outfit together. And how fun to receive some happy mail from a reader!! Thanks for hosting Tania.
Love the variation on the outfit! I am a “jacket girl”, so this outfit really appealed to me. I’m with you, I don’t think the purse goes…..too much color and not the right color. Thanks for sharing – looking forward to tomorrow’s version! Blessings…..
I so love the White Mountain boots! I was disappointed that they don’t sell them in wide widths (for the foot) though.
I love Connie R. ideal. I work also in an office and love black and navy. Tania, let’s give this a try.
Like the change up. Plan to check out the jacket when I go to Cato. I can only imagine what is next. The cards are so pretty. My sister makes them too for her down time. Says they help her stress as any hobby from work would do. She has sent me many unexpected so I can only imagine the joy you had when you opened them from a blogger. I wanted to mention something for you to consider styling. Would you ever consider an all black week styled different ways. I sure many of us work in a professions where we have to wear black daily. Might be fun. Many times I try to emulate your accessories to change my outfits up. Thank you for being consistent in your blogging. I am a fan!
I will take that challenge, Connie. It may not be for a week or so, maybe after Thanksgiving when we are all trying to hide those extra pounds. Lol!
I would love to see the email address of the lady’s cards. They are very cute.
Tania, I love this plaid jacket! I actually had it in my hand in Cato last week and I put it back. But it wasn’t on such a great clearance as it is now! I may have to go back and check it out again. And what a lovely surprise in your mailbox. Those cards are stunning!

Go back now before your size is gone!
Looking forward to the daily change ups! Two completely different, but inspiring looks!
You plaid jacket is fantastic. Definitely the time of the year for plaid.
What a nice surprise in the mail for you! Seems we only get bills here. Unexpected heartfelt gifts are the best! Enjoy.
I was tickled to get the cards. She spent countless time and energy crafting these cards for me, that makes them so special. I know she wants me to USE the cards, but I don’t know if I can. Lol! It will have to be to someone very special to me.
Love the colour of your tote Tania and the whole idea of a small wardrobe challenge!

Those cards are lovely! What a fantastic gift and so very nice! This jacket is great on the trousers. Thank you for hosting!
How lovely to receive all those beautiful cards ! I like how you have changed the outfit with the different accessories.Thank you for hosting Tania x
A subtle change indeed but it really does alter the look of the outfit. You wouldn’t automatically think ‘ Oh she’s wearing that again’! ? The boots are a great shade and look like a comfortable heel height. How kind of Petra and what a talented lady.
Subtle but different is what I am striving for, Caroline.
Good job on the variation for day 2. Boots and a jacket are an excellent choice to change up the look of your basics. Keep ’em coming and thanks for hosting.
