Rain is setting in here in the mountains. That is a good thing for the area of Gatlinburg, Tennessee. I am grateful to hear that the fires are out but the cleanup and dealing with the devastation has just begun. Please keep those affected in your thoughts and prayers.I live in the mountains of Virginia and Gatlinburg is a destination for many here in the area. It is only a 3 to 3 1/2 hour drive, so it is perfect for a weekend getaway. We occasionally have fires here in our mountains but thankfully never when the winds were so strong like they were a couple nights ago. As soon as I heard there was a fire and they were having to evacuate people I knew it was only going to get worse. The wind was whistling outside and was predicted to get worse that night and the next day. It, unfortunately, was the perfect storm for a disaster. I know it is bad, but it could have even been worse. The rains have never looked so good. These are some old photos that I found on one of my SD cards, so I decided to go ahead and use them. The pumpkins and the fern that stills looks alive are dead giveaways. Haha! I am wearing a top that I have had for a while but I don’t wear often. I am not a huge fan of the Southwestern style, it is just not a pattern that appeals to me. I see others wear this style and I like it on them, but it just seems to fall flat on me.
Because I had a Southwestern print on I decided to wear turquoise jewelry. That just made perfect sense to me. I am wearing some of my favorite pieces today. The Loudene cross necklace and the matching Jean earrings have quickly become some of my go-to pieces. I almost didn’t order this set because the pictures in the catalog were washed out looking but they are vibrant and not a bit washed out. The Eunice bracelet is one I bought back in the summer and I have worn this and worn this. You can see the chain dangling from the bracelet which shows you how much extra chain is available for those whose wrists are larger. I do like that most of their items can be adjusted from 7 to 8 inches. Some of the pieces may even go larger, but my DIL has tiny wrists and has a hard time finding things that will fit her. Because Christmas is right around the corner, I am extending my Plunder 10% refund offer for the rest of this month. I am also going to be having a couple giveaways for all my customers, so be watching for that. To place an order go to www.plunderdesign.com/party/taniaI have a lace-up pair of booties c/o White Mountain Shoes. These are Special Dust Suede Booties and they made the “Most Popular” list. I know why they are adorable!!! They even come in this burgundy color which I love.
Old Navy pixie pants are so easy to wear. They look great in the summer or winter so you will get your monies worth with these pants. The great thing about Old Navy is that you can find Tall, Petite, Misses, and Plus. You do not have to shop at specialized stores and the prices are affordable. They really should be paying me for being a spokesperson. Lol!
The fringed purse just seemed like it went with the Southwestern vibe but I am not a fan of the outcome. I wish I had carried a different purse, but that is hindsight. If I ever wear this again, which I won’t, I’ll carry a different purse. I would have to give this outfit a “C” but I tried. I read a Facebook post yesterday from one of my fellow bloggers who had some horrible comments on her blog. The worst comments were emailed to her, and I mean nasty comments. I know that most of you never leave comments, and that is fine, but I am soooo thankful that your mothers taught you to not say anything if you couldn’t say something nice. Hey, wait a minute, is that why you don’t leave comments? LOL!!!
Thanks for letting me know that you have been getting your email reminders. Now it makes me wonder if Joe has unsubscribed from me. Haha! He better not have if he knows what is good for him.
In the spirit of Christmas, I am extending my Rodan and Fields offer for 10% off all orders over 80.00 PLUS I am adding an extra little ? just for you. Everyone will receive something different but I promise you will love it. Lol!
EVERY single person who is reading this absolutely needs to be signed up for my emails. Come on gurls, subscribe to me! Go to the box across from the title of this post to sign up.
Anytime you would like to share my posts on Facebook or Twitter, I would appreciate that. It helps get my blog out to more people, and I am sure you just want to spread the entertaining sayings I have. Lol!
The comment section is at the end of the post, so keep scrolling. I look forward to reading all the comments, they make my day.
I just bookmarked your blog which I have visited occasionally in the past and am reading through your different posts. I love your outfits and am looking forward to not missing a post. You have inspired me to put together an outfit around my mustard cardigan tomorrow!
I look forward to reading your blog everyday and seeing what style you are going to wear. My favorite thing about your blog? The fact that you get clothes from places that I might actually shop…Catos, Old Navy, etc. Other blogs I follow mention Nordstroms and other higher end stores that first I can’t really afford on a retired teacher’s budget and second, I live in a rural area and those higher end stores are over an hour away.
You are luckier than I am, Robin. I have no idea how long it would take me to find a Nordstrom. I would venture to guess at least 4 to 5 hours at least. Lol! I am thankful for the internet but I don’t order a tremendous amount online.
I don’t usually leave comments, but I wanted you to know that you have really inspired me! I am a Pastor’s wife in IA, am 46 and have tired of dying my hair (so it is now kinda salt and pepper). HA! I like fashion but always get nervous to try new things because of the “glass house” that we live in. I don’t want to wear old lady clothes, however, and your blog has been an exciting encouragement to me! So, THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!!!
Blessings to you and your family!
Shannon, I am sure you do live in a glass house. Most people are nice and encouraging but there are always “those” who watch for mistakes. I am glad that you have found my blog and that you find my style and taste to your liking. You and your husband are a blessing to many.
I think this look is really cute on you. I like everything about it! I’m with you though, I don’t think I have a piece of SW clothing in my closet. Not a look I’d embrace but may give it a try since you styled it so wonderfully. Our local station also covered the fires. My prayers go out to those affected.
That’s a seriously cute shirt! I usually don’t like those kind of hems, but that particular shirt — wow!
I love your shirt. I love that’s it’s southwestern and a baseball shirt vibe going on. And I always love turquoise jewelry.

I’d love to see some outer wear looks – particularly for rsi y days. Thanks!
I really like this outfit and I’d give it an A. I guess it’s all in the eye of the beholder.
