50 IS NOT OLD | HOW TO STYLE A DRESS SERIES, PART 5How has your day been? Is everyone enjoying the spring weather? I really love when the trees start budding out and all the flowers start popping up out of the ground. Joe and I went for a walk yesterday and I noticed that overnight our Dogwood trees have gone from having buds on them to having full blown blooms. Then I did a quick walk around the yard and checked on my Peonies and Clematis vines to see if they survived the winter. It looks like all of them are back and doing well.50 IS NOT OLD | HOW TO STYLE A DRESS SERIES, PART 5I used to be a gardening nut. Not the vegetable growing type but the flower type. I would spend hours looking through books and magazines reading about the flowers and deciding where to plant something. I had a huge flowerbed build that was beautiful. It was built with interlocking landscape blocks and then filled in with soil. I had perennials from everybody I knew and something was always in bloom. I would spend all day on the weekends weeding and planting, my rear was always stuck up in the air. Lol! The soil started settling over the years and this left the backside of the landscape blocks exposed. There were crevices in between each block. I tried filling the holes with sand, mulch, rocks, etc. in order to keep snakes from taking up residence but it didn’t help. I would eventually see a snake and then refuse to go back in the garden again that year. The flower garden was eventually dug up when we fenced in our property so now all I have are just a few peonies and some containers of plants that I put on the back porch. 50 IS NOT OLD | HOW TO STYLE A DRESS SERIES, PART 5I decided today to go with the “western” look. I am not sure why I call it western (no cowboy hat or boots) but that is the description that comes to mind. The addition of a denim jacket is a fun and youthful look. I love my denim jacket and I will wear it all year around. I know some of you might live in really hot climates where that is not possible but here in the mountains, I can. I like a medium color denim, the light seems too worn and the dark seems stiff. This is one from Old Navy that I have had for years. 50 IS NOT OLD | HOW TO STYLE A DRESS SERIES, PART 5The Nellie necklace is an oldie but a goodie. This was one of the first necklaces that I bought from Plunder. The turquoise ornate cross was what originally caught my eye when I saw the necklace but there are several other charms also attached. You can wear is short like I have it here or long like I wore it in this post. I closed out the last party and re-opened another one. It is www.plunderdesign.com/party/tania7  If you are interested in finding out about all the wonderful advantages to being on my Plunder team just let me know. I am offering an extra piece of jewelry for all those who join Team Shimmer and Shine this month!!!50 IS NOT OLD | HOW TO STYLE A DRESS SERIES, PART 5I started to wear booties but since the dress is short I decided to wear knee boots instead. I like the fact that there is just a tiny bit of leg showing in this look. These boots are a pair by Marc Fisher and they have been my go-to boots this past year. I like the color and the style. There is a small heel but nothing that gives you too much height.

50 IS NOT OLD | HOW TO STYLE A DRESS SERIES, PART 5I didn’t tell you anything about my earrings or bracelets because they have all been retired. Have you been enjoying the dress series so far? I only have one more look to show you and then I want to hear from everyone which look you liked best and why. I think mine is a toss up between two looks and I tell you later which ones were my favorites. I am going to link to the previous posts if you missed any of them. Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, and Part 4. If you liked this series and have anything that you would like to see me try just let me know and I’ll see what I can do.50 IS NOT OLD | HOW TO STYLE A DRESS SERIES, PART 5On my FaceBook page, I asked a question. It said, “What does Australia, Colorado, New Mexico, Georgia, Alaska, and Grundy all have in common?” I left out Ohio and Tennessee on my list. The answer is that those are the states and Countries where ladies have joined me in my Rodan and Fields business. It is super exciting to see the team grow and even more exciting that we are helping ladies get the best skin they have ever had. It is wild that ladies in their 50’s and 60’s tell me their skin is now glowing and softer than it has ever been. I love that my blog has helped women come out of their comfort zones with color, that my Sunday posts have been an inspiration to some, and that my little side business, that was only meant for me, has instead helped many, many women feel better about their appearance.

How about a Friday Freebie post? Everyone who places an order for the Lash Boost (as a PC) will get their choice of a FREE Sunless Tanner, Sunscreen, or Body Moisturizer. Here’s an idea for your next series – how about a knee-length or midi skirt (not maxi), since many of us no longer can wear short dresses?

These posts are really inspiring, thanks. Nice to see how much a look can change depending on the accessories, shoes and purse. The leggings one was great; so is this one. I actually liked them all. The other day, I bought the plunder necklace with the little triangles from when you featured it in the white tee shirt/jeans series. I got it the other day and just love it, thanks.

  7. I like this a lot. I, personally, will wear cowboy boots. Those are the only ones I don’t put away until fall!
