HOW TO STYLE WITH A SMALL WARDROBE
You gurls are the sweetest things. You leave such great comments for me, they are always so encouraging. Even when you are critical, you do it in the nicest way. Lol! I had a fellow blogger email me the other day and one of her comments were, about how much participation I had with my readers. That was the highest compliment one blogger can give to another. Thank you gurls for following along.?
I did a video recently of my closets. If you did not see those, then go here. I try to wear different items daily, but you should know that is almost impossible. I do own A LOT of clothing, but still, it is hard to wear something different every day. Someone emailed me that I had saved them a ton of money since they had started following my blog. They said they could now take items in their closets and re-work them into new outfits.
Today I decided that I was going to take that comment as a challenge. Everybody does not have a huge wardrobe or space for a large amount of clothing. If that is the case, then you need to take the same articles of clothing and make them appear different. For the rest of the week, I will be styling this sweater and pair of pants. I am pretty sure everyone has a sweater and a pair of pants, they do not have to be gray and maroon. It is not about the color, it is about making them look like you have a bigger wardrobe than you actually have.
This sweater is one that I bought either last year or the year before from Old Navy. Old Navy is a great place to buy lightweight sweaters at an affordable price. I wasn’t sure I would like the sweater, I am not a huge fan of the waffle knit look. However, this does add some visual interest and texture that a plain sweater does not.
I took this Plunder set with me to Livingston over the weekend. My cousin is having a Plunder party, so I loaded up all my jewelry (really heavy) and took it for everyone to look at. They couldn’t get over how nice the jewelry looked in person compared to the pictures in the catalog. My mother even bought this necklace set. I need to do a video so that it would show the sparkles. The entire pendant is covered in rhinestones and so is the pyramid that the tassels hang from. The matching bracelet and earrings, (not the ones I am wearing) are the same way.
The earrings I have on are too cute. I couldn’t believe how big they were in person. In the catalog, these look tiny…. They are made in a knot style with rhinestones all over. These are probably the most popular earring by Plunder right now, they keep selling out.
I have on a tank top with a lace bottom that I bought at Maurices. I have several different colors of this style top, they look great in the summer and you can wear them under jackets or sweaters all winter long. The top just gives some interest to the outfit. The dark maroon or burgundy pants are an old pair that I bought at TJ Maxx. I love this pair because they are the perfect color for fall, I have worn them and worn them.
The gray studded shoes are by Sole Society. I bought these last year around this same time. I like them because you can wear them all year around.
Check back the rest of the week to see how I style this differently.

What is thename of the other bracelet you have on? Not the Plunder bracelet. Love this whole outfit.
I live in Europe, one wardrobe for everything. What a relief to actually limit choices. Amazing how far you can go with a black suit, dress and a pair of jeans.
Love the idea of this challenge! You always come up with such great ideas that almost everyone can duplicate. I just bought a pair of maroon pants so this is another option of how to wear them.
Funny you should post this today! I work in a high school and in remembrance of the Sandy Hook victims we are wearing green on Friday. When I opened that email early this morning I thought I don’t own one green thing so it’s time to go shopping! Then I thought ‘what would Tania do?’; shop that closet! Well, believe me, I own plenty of green. I put together a bright green 10 year old Talbots boyfriend sweater and a blue and white check shirt from Marshall’s. It’s payday Friday and we are allowed to wear jeans so I may go with another Talbots item and wear dark washed straight leg jeans. My WWTD mantra has helped me to pull together so many outfits! Thank you!
Linda, that sounds like a GREAT outfit! I am so glad that you giving me credit, but it was all YOU. You bought the items, and you are the one that has chosen to put them together. You may have to change your mantra to WWLW. Lol!
You are the inspiration! I tend to be very monochromatic but seeing your color combos gives me ideas. Thanks!!
I really like this outfit. The touch of lace is perfect. I would never have thought of that. I have a similar sweater, but my maroon pants are still too tight for styling just yet. I can’t wait to see the ways you change this up.
Tania, I love this look, you look great in it. I especially like the lace showing from the sweater. I wish ON still had this sweater, I really like it. I am not really a sweater person but if they are light and ste sleeves aren’t too long they are ok. I also really like the shoes.Oh and you are so right about the jewelry. That necklace is very pretty which doesn’t look near as good in the catalog. Sure wish I could have gotten more people to realize that when I was having my party. Maybe we can try again in the spring?
Such a cute look! Simple, stylish, and looks very well put together! You always nail it, Tania!
Thank you for taking the small wardrobe challenge. I am sure you will do a fantastic job of styling that sweater. It is a great neutral. I am sure it will be a natural fit with many other pieces you currently own.
First time I have replied. I just found you on-line and really enjoy reading your posts and seeing your pictures. I put together an outfit over the weekend with a few of your tips and got fresh compliments. Thanks!!!
Hope we gurls don’t age out of your blog. I just turned 63 this month. I feel younger because I have these delightful young friends who just happen to be my three daughters and they keep me on my toes!
I shared your post from Sunday “DO NOT COMPLAIN” on my Facebook page. Thanks for the insight!
Don’t you just love compliments:) It is nice when you put together an outfit, and someone mentions how nice you look. I try to remember that and compliment others. Thanks for sharing my posts. I hope that they will reach someone in need.
Love this idea of restyling pieces! Since you’re getting quite a bit of free stuff lately, do you feel obligated to write a good review of everything you get?
No, I don’t really feel obligated. I turn down lots and lots of offers. Some just don’t suit my style, some are not reputable companies, some are products I would never use, and some are just too costly. I try hard to only accept items from companies that are things I would and could buy myself.
