STYLING A CHIFFON VEST
I was under the impression that my daughter would be taking off work on the 3rd to stay home with us and that she would be off the 4th for the holiday. I thought she would be working the rest of the time we were there and that we would see her and do things in the afternoons. I told Joe that we would have plenty of time to rest because she couldn’t make us do something if she wasn’t home. WELL, that is not what is going to be happening. Exactly the opposite, she is working Monday the 3rd and is off for the rest of the time we will be in Alaska. ? You don’t understand, she will MAKE us go hiking, go walking, go to the glaciers, go out fishing on a commercial fishing boat, go, go, go, go. That girl does not know the work “rest.” She has already invited me via FaceBook to a “Meat and Greet” which is a BBQ. Come to find out “Joe and I” are the Greet. She has invited her friends to come out and meet us and have a BBQ. We attended a similar BBQ the last time we were there and they are a lot of fun.
This outfit is one that I wore back a month ago and it somehow slipped through the cracks. I was cleaning up my photos and I noticed that this one had never made the blog. It was not a “homerun” for me so I probably left it out on purpose. Lol! However, I feel like you need to see the struggles I go through on a daily basis, just like you do. I like the double ruffle hem top from Easel. I love the dusty purple color and the double ruffle hem. Notice the long sleeves. You will probably see me in several of these type tops while I am in Alaska. Lol! The long chiffon sheer vest is one that I bought at the overstock store in town. I was immediately drawn to the florals. There are such a wide variety of colors in this vest that if would go with almost anything.
My ankle pants are the Pixie Pants from Old Navy. The Pixie Pant is my go-to pant, I wear them all year round. When I buy the stretchy version with spandex I will size up and if I buy the chino version then I stay true to size. I paired my crochet Nevaeh sandals c/o Nina Shoes with the outfit. They are really easy to slip on and the cork bottom makes them really comfortable to walk in.
Do you know what my number one referrer page is? It is Pinterest! I truly appreciate every time you “pin” a picture. Heck, pin ALL the pictures if you want. Lol! Also, if you would like to share my posts on Facebook or Twitter, I would appreciate that. It helps get my blog out to more people, and I am sure you just want to spread the entertaining sayings I have. Lol! The comment section is at the end of the post, so keep scrolling. I look forward to reading all the comments, they make my day.

Making a list is an absolute must for me before a trip. All the important stuff goes on the list. ?
You might like this outfit more with a neutral colored top under the vest. I have a floral chiffon vest that I have worn over both a black and an off white silky T from Old Navy. I like the lavender top better by itself….the colors in the vest and top seem to be fighting each other.
You will likely think this is a strange question… are you wearing fake toenails? I’ve seen them in the store and wondered what they would look like on and how comfortable they would be.The last few pictures where you’ve had the French on your toes I’ve wondered if they were fake.
You are right, that is a weird question. I didn’t know you could even get fake toenails. Lol!!!
Great outfit ! Have a safe trip and enjoy your time with your Daughter ?
It seems like a lot of us lady make a list of what needs to be done . My Brother is going getting married on monday and made list of things i need to buy and bills that are due When to lunch cross off some from the list then at the end of the day left the list on my desk. Lol The last time my sister got married we got in car down the road. I realized i forgot my dress and i was the maid of honor lol Have a Great trip and be safe! If you want to rest remember your mom just tell her no
Hahahaha!!! Nicki, that does sound like something I would do.
This is a look I love!! and the chiffon vest is so pretty!! I’ll definately be trying this one out myself. Have a brill time in Alaska!
The vest is pretty, I just didn’t care for it with this outfit. I may try it again later with something else.
Have a fabulous time in Alaska! That is son our bucket list of places to go. Sorry Tania, but this is definitely not a favorite outfit. Too much going on. You will get everything done needed to be done. And like my husband always says, if you forget it, they have stores there!
Not my favorite either, Susan. I don’t care for the vest with the outfit and I would much rather have had on a pair of jeans or dark navy pants. We all make mistakes and that is why I decided to go ahead and show it.
Love your blog! When do you sleep? You must have a knack for getting things done and checked off your lists. It seems to me that you are always “full steam ahead”! I can’t imagine the pace that your Energizer Bunny friend keeps up! Thanks for inspiring me to pack my days full of fashion, friends and family.
I have actually become a very busy lady. Lol! Maybe my friend has rubbed off on me. Haha!!!
Beautiful combo Tania!!! Have fun and praying for y’all too. ~Lisa~
Thanks, Lisa. I need all the prayers I can get.
I always think I am ready in five minutes! Never…… Have a good time!
Several days before I travel, I write down everything I need to do prior to leaving (hold mail, pay buys, adjust a/c, etc.) I also make a list of everything I need to pack. I cross off the things on the list as I take care of it or pack it.
Cute outfit! Safe travels and enjoy your daughter and Alaska!
Uggh, I am not that organized. Joe says, “don’t worry we can buy what we need there.” Sometimes that is not true.
