TAKE ME OUT TO THE BALLGAME

We made it to Tennessee Thursday night in plenty of time to go see my grandsons play tee-ball. Jett is 4 years old and Huttson is 6 years old. Jett is really too young to be on the team but since his brother is playing and since my son is coaching, he gets to play. He got on base all three times at bat and scored every time. Normally, he plays in the outfield where he doesn’t see a lot of action, but they were short players so he had to play 3rd base instead.

Huttson is great and that is not just the grandma in me talking. He was a fielding demon! We are talking a 6-year-old and I saw him dive for balls, catch the ball backhanded, and slide into the base in order to beat the runners (twice) to get them out. He single-handily got all three outs the first inning. He reminded me of how my daddy used to play volleyball when I was young. You didn’t want to stand anywhere near him because he would almost knock you down to get to the ball. Huttson is like that on the ballfield. He would field the ball and then run to the base to get the player out. It could have been the fact that Jett was on 3rd and can’t catch. Lol!
