TAKING A BREAK CAN BE GOOD FOR THE SOUL

Y’all, I am slowly losing it. It would be referring to my mind. The other day, I told you about traveling to our new home and how I left my computer cord at the house. Joe was so sweet to drive back an hour out of his way and get it for me. Well, I must be channeling Brittany Spears because, “whoops, I did it again!” This time I not only forgot the computer cord…I forgot the entire computer!!!

I make my living on the computer for those who don’t already know, so it is a pretty important part of my work life. I actually took an entire day off and spent it with two of my grandchildren and my DIL. We shopped, we grabbed something to eat, and we laughed a lot. It was soooo enjoyable, but then I had to pack everything up and head back to the home we live in most of the time.
I walked into the house, unloaded all of my stuff, and then went to sit down and start today’s blog. That is when it hit me that I didn’t have a laptop to work from. Lol! Joe started to give me a hard time until I reminded him of everything he forgot on our little weekend trips. It looks like I will have to make a checklist for both of us and put it in our cars. We aren’t allowed to start driving until all of the boxes have been checked off. BTW, Joe is driving back to Abingdon tomorrow to pick up my laptop. He is a keeper!

This was what I ended up wearing for Memorial Day. It is simple, chic, and something that you could wear at any time, not just on Memorial Day, the 4th of July, or Labor Day. I like versatile items that can be worn multiple ways, and this outfit qualifies.
The ruffle v-neck top is feminine looking, and it can be dressed up or down. It looks great today with my white jeans, but it would also look awesome with a pencil skirt and heels. I am also extremely fond of flutter sleeves, and I think that this length is one that most people can wear.
I am wearing a size large top, and it fits great. The top comes in two other colors, in case you don’t need another navy top. By the way, the top looks much darker in person; the bright sun makes it look lighter. I like this brand, and I will link to a few more tops that you might enjoy.

I love it when I start reading a description of an item, including the words, “no stain.” The only thing better would be if it said no stain AND no iron. Lol! I am wearing a pair of white So Slimming No Stain girlfriend crops from Chico’s. Whew! Try saying that three times in a row.
I ordered a size 1, and I love the fit of these girlfriend jeans. They aren’t see-through, and they aren’t skin tight. Those are two critical details that you want to make sure you have when you are wearing white anything. According to the website, these are powered by Stain-Repel, Bright-White™ technology, and offer a stay-true hue that stays white longer and repels water-based spills.

I’ve had the Natalie Statement Earrings for a long time, but I hardly ever wear them. I am not sure why that is since I like them a lot. Gold is sold out online, but silver still is available. I also added my Rebecca stretch bracelet in White Howlite, and I have worn this thing out this summer. It is out of stock also, but you can sign up for an alert, and they will let you know when it is available again.

My white Michael Kors flats are several years old, and I still wear them all of the time. I love the mocassin rubber bottom since that has kept me from slipping and sliding on wet surfaces. They updated the shoe a tiny bit, and here is the link for the new version, and they run TTS.

So, you tell me, which would you have rather done…played with these two, or worked on the computer all day long? If you said, worked, then I am not sure that we can be friends. Lol!

I can confirm those pants do no retain stains. We travel a lot in our motorhome where for some reason I’m more prone to slosh coffee on myself. The pants came right off me and I held them under the handheld shower to get the coffee out. I don’t carry laundry soap but I do have Dawn and I used that to finish the coffee removal.
Speaking of computers I was always forgetting mine also. My solution was kinda spendy but as a genealogist I need my computer when we go to old places where they have archives. So I bought an inexpensive Mac Book Air for leaving in the motorhome. It has a great battery life and I can recharge it without AC using a teeny portable inverter (my car has a built in one and I love it!). Now that the little MacBook was installed in the motorhome I replaced my older laptop Dell with an iMac with a massive monitor. That’s where it got expensive but the beauty of it is this — every Apple product we have is synced with iCloud and by the time I get back from a trip all the scans and photos from research are already at home since the iMac is never off (unless the darn utility company decides to turn off power again to prevent fires). I’m happy with my solution.
Love your outfit! Your grandchildren are precious.
Love the frilly top! I must get out my white pants soon. Your grand kids are so cute!
That last picture of the three of you is precious! Belongs in a frame on your desk and theirs! Happy belated Memorial Day!
I thought it was great of all of us too!
Nothing beats white and blue for summer pretty. I’m Reaching for white pants all the time this year. They are like black in the winter. They always look right. Your grands are really cute! You are blessed😊
It seems like white is all that I am styling right now. I am hooked.
Oh no – what did you do to your hair? I LOVE your hair normally, but not a fan of it styled this way with the middle part and the puffed up back. Reminds me too much of the ’40’s (and I’m not that old!).
Lol! Tell me what you really think. hahaha This was the result of wind, and I just left it that way to try something different. Joe laughed too and wasn’t a fan either.
Love the relationship you have with your grandkids so close. They are adorable! Jealous
Your hair looks gorgeous, wind swept or not!
Love the Blue and White together! Your Grandchildren are Adorable, bet they keep you on your toes, lol.
They sure do keep me on my toes. Lol!
Number one choice…..grandkids first! Like your outfit.
They were a great choice!!!
Love this look! comfy and chic all at once.
I agree. I love it when a simple outfit looks so chic.
Love your outfit!! So pretty on you!
Thanks, Barbara!
