Today’s post, The Best Capri Pants to Buy Now, came straight from the comments. Thank you for the great idea! You asked for capri pants and tops to wear with them, so that’s exactly what we’re diving into today. I love it when y’all come up with the topic. The companion post with top options is coming tomorrow! The timing couldn’t be better because capris are having a style moment again, and I’m all in. Whether you call them capris, pedal pushers, or cropped pants, they bring an easy, breezy vibe to your summer wardrobe, keeping you cool and comfortable while still looking polished.

What’s the Difference Between Cropped and Capri Pants?

Pintuck Linen Top (Medium) | Straight Crop Jeans (Size 8) | Strappy Cork Sandals (TTS) | Raffia Buckle Leather Belt (Large)

The terms “cropped” and “capri” are often used interchangeably, but there’s a subtle difference that can help you choose the best length for your shape and style.

Capri pants traditionally hit around mid-calf, just below the knee. They offer more leg coverage and are perfect for women who prefer a modest, breezy style that keeps them cool while still feeling polished.

Cropped pants, on the other hand, tend to hit higher on the ankle or just above. They give a slightly longer leg line and can feel a bit more modern and tailored, depending on the fit.

Both styles are fabulous for warmer weather, but here’s a quick guide:

  • If you’re petite or want to lengthen your legs visually, cropped pants that hit above the ankle might be more flattering.
  • If you prefer more leg coverage or a classic summer look, capris that fall mid-calf are the way to go.

Whether you go with capris or cropped styles, the key is balance, pairing them with the right top and shoes makes all the difference.

  • Flowing tops pair well with slim capris; fitted tops work best with wide-leg styles.
  • Add a statement necklace or scarf to bring attention upward and add a pop of color.
  • For a casual outfit, pair capris with sneakers or sandals; for dressier events, opt for kitten heels or ballet flats.

Verse Of The Day

Luke 9:18-20 (NIV)
18 Once when Jesus was praying in private and his disciples were with him, he asked them, “Who do the crowds say I am?”

19 They replied, “Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, that one of the prophets of long ago has come back to life.”

20 “But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?”

  1. Found it! 😊 I love cropped pants for summer.

  2. 😀 I love the look on some people but I’m one of those people with short legs where cropped might not be cropped enough (but I can roll up the right style!) and most capris never hit the right spot. That said the SPANX crops are my perfect regular inseam for flats! Yay!

    1. Anne, I love that you are thinking outside the box. Cuffing your pants is a great idea!

  3. So fun!! 😊

  16. My answers to your latest survey:
    1) Comfort
    2) I meal plan sometimes two or three days in advance, sometimes in the morning, and unfortunately, sometimes I finish working at 7:30 and have no idea what to do about supper! (That’s when I wish that my husband, who retired 24 years ago!!!!! would take some initiative. I don’t know why he expects me to decide on what to eat every darned day.
    3) Lipstick, though I also like gloss. Gloss just doesn’t last as long or give as much color pay off. recently I have been mixing Jones road miracle balm with bright powder blush for a semi-matte lipstick that lasts for hours without drying my lips the way liquid matte lipsticks do. I cannot wear liquid matte lipsticks (Maybelline lip ink, here’s fussing about you) two days in a row without making my lips dry and flaky.

I do a meal plan (not by day, but we choose from the weekly menu I made which is hanging on the refrigerator depending on what we are feeling.) I use Tarte Maracua Juicy Lip Plump. I rarely wear makeup for every day use, but I try to remember to put something on my lips.
