The Best Faux Leather Clothing For Women Over 50
I’ve shown you some great leather items over the course of my blog. What can I say? It’s a classic! Years ago, fake leather items felt cheap, but we’ve come a long way. Most people can’t tell the difference anymore! Today, I’m sharing the best faux leather clothing for women over 50.
The Best Faux Leather Clothing For Women Over 50 – Pants
These faux leather ponte leggings from Ann Taylor and are available in regular and petite. I love the way these feel and fit, and I like that they are Ponte on the back and faux leather on the front. These are straight-leg, hit at the ankle, and, most importantly, very stylish!
Halogen is a great brand that I’ve bought many times from Nordstrom. These have a straight-leg silhouette and would add a bit of WOW to any event. It’s hard to believe, but these are machine-washable! I mean, what? These are ankle-length, so keep that in mind when purchasing.
I know I’ve shared these before, but I love these faux leather leggings from Spanx. Here is a photo from 2019, but I wore these last Christmas to an art show with cute boots and a great sweater, and looked very chic. You can wear them with flats, booties, or tall boots. The options are endless. Available in Regular and Petite sizes.
The Best Faux Leather Clothing For Women Over 50 – Coats

This jacket has quickly become my favorite! I love the feel of the leather; it is buttery soft. I never thought that I would prefer a bomber jacket over my moto jacket, but I actually like it better.
I love a classic black trench, and as soon as I bought this one, it sold out. I felt like I should be in the movie The Matrix every time I put it on, so I ended up sending it back.
This classic longline coat would give me the same look, but not The Matrix vibe. Lol! It has a polished shawl collar and a pink liner, and again, is machine washable. The color is officially called “mink”. I’m not sure what that means, but it looks like a cross between brown and pink. Either way, I like it!
I love the caramel Faux Leather Double Breasted Blazer, and I’ve worn it several times this fall and winter. It is down to only a few sizes, so hopefully, your size is still available. The Baby Cashmere Turtleneck Sweater is one I bought earlier this fall. I had bought Quince’s $50 cashmere sweaters, and I saw they had a “baby cashmere,” which made me curious. Baby cashmere fibers are finer for a premium feel, meaning the sweater is super soft. I’m now officially hooked on baby cashmere!!! I’m wearing a large, but I sent it back for a medium since it was a little big on me.
A moto jacket is one of my favorite looks. I love the silver hardware details. Just because you’re over 50 doesn’t mean you can’t add a little edge to your fashion. It feels like you age backwards at least ten years the minute you slip on one of these jackets.
I know a biker jacket isn’t for everyone. Never fear; this is a more classic version of the racing jacket. It’s from Levi’s, so you know it’s a classic! It still has the zippers and a cool buckled throat detail, but it’s not overly decorated. Black is never going to go out of style, but it also comes in several other, lighter colors.

I LOVE this faux leather vest! It is heavier than I imagined it would be, and the color is amazing. The color reminds me of pewter, but they are calling it stormy sky. The vest is of great quality, and I love that the side panels are a knit material, so it stretches and moves with you.
Look how elegant this faux leather pencil skirt is. This would work for the office or a date night with the hubby. I think these pointed-toe heels look great with it, but you could also wear boots, both ankle booties and taller versions.
Va-Va-Voom! This dress from Steve Madden is gorgeous. I don’t know that I’ve ever seen a faux leather dress with ruching. It looks amazing. The snap closures on the front and cuffs are a subtle detail.
I love how supple the “leather” looks. The Night Sky color is so unexpected; I immediately added it to my cart, so expect to see it on the blog soon. Pair this with jeans for a day look, or dress it up for a night out on the town. This is what I’m talking about!!!
Faux leather is everywhere, and for good reason. Let me know in the comments if you’ll be adding one of these items to your winter wardrobe.

Crocs, yes. I have a leopard print pair with patent toes, and need to get new navy ballet flats as soon as I can. I don’t like the original Crocs, but there are a lot of classier styles.
I tried to reply from my phone but I don’t think it went through; if this comes to you twice, I apologize.
Crocks, when getting worn, get very slick, so it’s best to keep an eye on the bottoms. I have pink ones that I wear in the summer to the pool and outside for gardening and such. I have lined ones I wear in the winter. I don’t love them but they are comfortable enough.
As per faux leather: Without a doubt, I prefer real leather. Some of the faux leather looks nice enough but it just isn’t the same. I can’t help but feel like one is wearing an airport sofa. I know that real leather is much more expensive but great deals can be had. I’d rather have way fewer pieces that are higher quality and will last much longer. I might wear the faux leggings but likely they would be too hot for me. while I live where it gets very cold, I overheat easily.
I like faux leather for some items. For jackets and coats, I would rather have leather, but for leggings or tops, faux leather is just fine.
Never say never! Crocs may not be the most fashionable but, they are a well padded comfy shoe. Makes a great house shoe, especially in black glitter. 😉
Crocs may not be the height of fashion but it’s hard to find a more comfortable house shoe. I have a sheepskin lined pair as my winter slippers and love them to bits. Even my husband is a convert with his size 14 feet! I can’t see myself in faux leather pants but I still love the look of Tina Turner’s black leather skirt from the 80’s!
I’m a no-go for faux. Also think Uggs are the ugliest footwear ever invented. Same for Crocs. I don’t care how fashionable others consider these items, they won’t live in my house.
Maybe I am in the minority, but I find Crocs to be very comfortable. As for wearing faux leather, a coat yes but at 72, I don’t think I will be trying the pants anytime soon!
Crocs in my opinion, like others who had the same opinion are just UGLY! Great for kids, but there are a lot of other shoes that are more comfortable for adults! I think the flip flops are ok… but oofos are sooo much more comfortable! Croc lovers, enjoy your shoes at home but if you decide to wear them out… just know they are not cute or fashionable!
Above comments are my opinion ONLY, but were also asked for by Tania. XOXO
No I wouldn’t ever wear crocs.
I’m still not sure about faux leather, but I do love the bomber jacket!
I wear Oofos and love them! They are recommended by a podiatrist! If you have a foot issue they are nice but I only wear them around the house.
