The Best Outfits I Wore This Week
I’ll be honest: since I work from home, a lot of my daily outfits can be lackluster. I wear a lot of leggings, joggers, sweater sets, and jeans, which is not exactly haute couture. My friend pointed out to me that your lifestyle and outfits might be similar, and that I should share the outfits I wore during the week. So, depending on your reactions, we’ll see if this becomes a series.
What I Wore When Traveling
When I’m traveling, I like to wear something comfortable. I usually wear jeans or a bottom with an elastic waist so I don’t feel confined. I knew I would be doing a try-on haul on my trip, so I wore this 2-piece sweatshirt and wide leg pants. I wanted an easy-on, easy-off outfit, and this was perfect.
This set is very similar to the SPANX Air Essentials line. I own both items, and honestly, I thought this one was the most flattering.
I carry the Pearl Crossbody a lot when traveling. It has three compartments, making it easier to keep my wallet, phone, lip balms, etc organized. If you were flying, one compartment could be used for passports, tickets, etc.; it’s very handy.
I don’t wear silver jewelry too often, but I thought the silver looked great with the black set. Each year, I get a couple of pieces of jewelry for Christmas. I can grow out of clothing and get tired of handbags, but I always will wear jewelry. I love the size of these earrings; they are the perfect medium size.
I have been buying David Yurman for years, but this year, I decided to buy Lagos instead. I love wearing the Embrace Bracelet and Caviar Bead Ring with my other DY pieces.
These Leopard Print Pointed Toe Flats are CHIC with a capital C! I love the little bridle bit detail that adds a little more interest.
A Day Spent At The House
I’m always saying that sets are versatile. In this outfit, I’m wearing the V-neck top that is part of the Softies Ultra-Soft Lounge Set. I first heard of this set from Oprah’s Favorite Things post and decided to give it a try. This set is everything I thought it would be and more! I love that they stayed just as soft after washing, which isn’t always the case with a lot of sets.
I paired the top with a pair of comfy Slim Straight Leg Jeans from Kut from the Kloth. I love their jeans because they have a lot of stretch, and I reach for them often. I didn’t leave the house, BUT if I were going to, then I would add the Leather Pointed Bow Flat and Handwoven Shoulder Bag. I love the Cognac color, and both items are ones I use a lot.
Running Out For Errands
I bought this 1/4 Zip Sweatshirt early in the fall, and I don’t know why I haven’t shown it on the blog before. I love the slightly oversized feel of the sweatshirt, and the graphic on the back is great! (You can see it below)
I love the look of these High-rise Denim Trousers. The wide leg style isn’t too wide, and the trouser style hem is a visual interest that gives a dressy look. The only issue with the jeans is that there isn’t much stretch. They are slightly snug. The Samba Sneaker keep with the sporty, athletic look of the sweatshirt.
Doctor’s Appointment Outfit
One of the realities of women our age is that we have more doctor appointments than we would like. Thankfully, I was just going for my yearly Dermatology appointment. Maybe it is my age, but I always dress up for a doctor’s appointment, although from the look of the waiting room, not everyone feels that way.
I have been looking for a good linen blazer for YEARS! I have one I love, but it is so old and ragged that I never wear it anymore. The Stretch Linen Blend blazer is a great weight, and I love the small amount of stretch. However, I’m sending the size 10 back and getting a size 12 instead. I like wearing a blazer with sweaters and prefer a little more room.
I sometimes wear a button up shirt and jeans during the day while working from home. The Striped Cotton Poplin shirt is a classic, and I love the black shadow line on the stripe. (See below)
The name of the Low-rise Denim Trousers is slightly misleading. I don’t consider this to be low-rise at all since they hit right at the belly button. They have a little stretch to them, but not a huge amount. They run true to size, but if you are between sizes, then I suggest sizing up.
What I Wore To A Google Meet and ZOOM Call
I had a couple of meetings this week, so I needed to look presentable. I knew I would end up wearing the same outfit all day long, so I picked something that was comfy. This 2 Piece Pullover and Wide Legs Lounge Set is different with its pleated legs and whip stitch trim. I am always cold, so I added a black Long Cardigan Sweater that is versatile and can be worn with anything.
You might have noticed that I like Quince handbags! The handwoven Italian Leather Crossbody is a perfect size for a crossbody. It is small but can hold all your essentials. It is available in several colors, including a pretty green shade.
The Leather Pointed Bow Flats can be dressed up or down. The Almond color is a pretty neutral that will go with anything and not draw attention to itself. The little bow is a cute detail, though.
Working From Home
I told you that I do a lot of comfortable outfits. If the snow and cold weather ever leave, maybe Joe and I will go out to eat. I don’t like to leave the house at night when it is so stinking cold. I’ve had this striped cardigan for several years, and I noticed that they changed it a little this year. The stripes are now wider spaced and go up farther on the cardigan.
I’ve also owned this V-neck T-shirt for years. It washes up nicely and doesn’t pill.
I’m not a huge fan of patch pockets, but I like these High-Rise Flare Jeans. I love J.Jill jeans and I wear them a lot! These have the trouser hem also, which I love.
I just bought these Pointed Toe Flats from Chicos. I love the Y strap style because it keeps the flats from coming off or moving around. The natural color is versatile and will go with anything.
